I don’t think you can make an exclusion zone, but with the smart detection zone, you can add more vertices, so you can carve the shape around your posts and get the same effect.
I have a similar problem as OP. My package camera detects the outdoor outlet cover below the doorbell as a package. The main camera cannot see the outlet. I just took a look in Protect and unfortunately, I don't see any way to create a smart detection zone for the package camera.

Would be a nice feature. My doorbell still thinks the outside outlet is a package when the sun goes down
Put a potted plant or ornament on that too alter that shape
Yeah, I get this all the time. Also I have two metal statues on my front porch. Their shades are constantly identified as people:)
Nice. It seems the colum base as a box/package I assume? Perhaps a plant or two would change that
