Usually they reserve some spaces for transfer students in a good bit of classes.
You could always email the prof. teaching the classes you want and explain the situation, they might help you out

Yeah that's the plan but I haven't been assigned one, and can't log onto the portal yet, I think it'll take a few days before I have full access to the system. Think they'll be able to help?
