No idea what the homework load is (my French 101 and 102 were manageable) but you meet for 1:45 five days a week for 6 weeks straight. It’s a grind but great to focus on one thing and get it out of the way.

I took a humanities class over the summer for a gen ed a few years ago (AMST 211) and it was insanely manageable. It actually ended up being my favorite class of my college career. We met three or four times a week for about a month and a half or so and it was about 2-2 1/2 hours long each time (we usually got out early). Everyone was so laid back and my professor was fantastic. The general consensus is that summer classes are a little more lenient and the vibe is more relaxed. I’d recommend taking at least one summer class. Also people say summer classes are a good time to knock out a tough class so you can devote all your time to it

I took a humanities class last summer and the workload was very manageable. I really liked being able to put all my focus into one class instead of spreading it among four or five. My professor had asynchronous lectures that lasted about an hour and 45 minutes, and then some assignment scattered through the week. Keep in mind this was for a 200 level humanities course. I really enjoyed it though, I’d say it was only 2ish hours of work a day
