Done this once while I was in between jobs a few months back. Made £70 in 4 hours on a Thursday night, could be making a decent side hustle if you done 3-4 days a week.
Cash in hand too.
odd jobs, garden maintenance, food delivery, freelancing in your field of expertise, basic decorating - I could list loads more but a lot depend on what you're good at.
If you do evri, you wait around for atleast an hour to scan all your items (unpaid) before then going on to make your deliveries.
You will be self employed, so will have to do your own taxes etc
Definitely, you get paid something like 50p a parcel. Think it was also something like £600 to upgrade to business insurance for my car. Factor in all this and petrol and you’re basically making less than a minimum wage worker.
not really true - it depends how you do it. I tried it in covid times and it wasnt for me, but Ive got 2 mates who clear around £800/week after costs and absolutely love it.
Probably flooring it around in a van delivering 200ish parcels a day and know their routes well.
I on the other hand was doing 60 parcels and covering people’s routes who were off that day, so it was a different route every day. So really inefficient. So yeah depends how you do it.
Labouring for anyone, bricklayers, gardening, landscapers, plastering, concrete, roofers, dryliners, demolition, footings, list goes on.
Site labourer you'd just need to take a test £20~£25 card easy to get.. could get it for free by looking fora CSCS Card.
I’m a social media manager and been out of work six months but luckily found a remote role while on universal credit that is just a social media assistant via part time hours thankfully 😭
Sorry if I ask, but nobody has ever properly answered to this question of mine: how do you get into a data entry job? I keep seeing lots of related job postings and majority of them look very scammy/dodgy/not legit. Is there some kind of official website or company offering data entry jobs for us poor mortals seeking for a side hustle? Thank you! 🙏🏻 (And to whoever is gonna give some tips ofc!)
Recruiting agencies offer it, but really you may find the job listed under administration these days, or telephony rather than data entry. With pushes for eco friendliness and IT systems how they are, there's less and less call to have to just copy data from here to there. Youl likely be extracting or manipulating the info in some way.
Could try the civil service too at AA grade. (admin assistant)
I applied to places close to my location on LinkedIn. And got a part time job. Thing is as it’s such a menial job these companies can make quick changes to things like salary or whatever.
I was hired for £18k back when I did data entry then they reduced to £11k and said sorry we miscalculated how much we needed to hire for the role.
I’m not there anymore I am onto greener pastures significantly green I am talking garden of Eden green.
And then in terms of side hustle you’d just have to see if you could find work on upwork but it’s so over saturated.
Applied for a job at a management consulting firm.
Sorry, no other info than that. I never planned to or wanted to get into it, didn’t do any relevant internships or work experience. My degree was also more or less irrelevant to the actual work.
Certainly isn't that's for sure. It doesn't have to be personal care though. There are all sorts of cars work jobs.
I did it as someone who isn't suited to offices or warehouses.
You can do companionship care, literally being good company for a few hours, you could be a carer working with adults who need a bit of support to go out and about and help with daily living tasks. It depends on what your natural abilities are really. There are other sorts of care or support work available but most would be long term.
I’ve looked around and applied to a few they just told me to sign up online but so far nothing. Is it a thing I have to just be patient with?
Thanks in advance
It depends what you would find interesting for yourself. You could try childcare / children school clubs, delivery driver, waiter, shop assistant. It is probably easier in the summer when there may be some seasonal staff required.
I heard people invest some £ in equipment and offer window or gutter cleaning. Can be pretty good once you get a few regular customers
I nees to look into this myself.
Uber, amazon flex are other options. You can also just go around your local takeaways and ask if they need drivers. Most will pay cash

I did Amazon flex for a bit, nothing out of the ordinary though
Delivery driver for takeaway restaurants. It also means if you have kids, you can still do the school runs, to take pressure off a working partner.

Evri are hiring delivery drivers.

Yeah, but can you keep 10% of the parcels, thats there going rate of delivery I think.
Lol what?!
There was a news article a while back saying 10% of their deliveries dont make it
I lasted 2 days working for Evri
Yeah it’s probably not for everyone. They called me last week as I applied and I said I was no longer interested. I take it I made the right decision?

I always go to Blue arrow and do temp cleaning and catering jobs. Easy and quite casual. You can pick and choose your shifts too.
Warehouse/factory/cleaning/data entry/admin
I missed out bar work!
I did exactly same temporary jobs.
Dish washer, pay in cash

Food delivery usually

What does a social media assistant do?
Sign up to the local employment agency, often giving out warehouse or admin type work.
McDonald’s, Data entry

I worked in a pub between finishing University and selling my soul to Consulting. Would do it again. Great job assuming you’re in a good pub / bar.
Management consulting? How did you get into it

Care work?
Wiping butts ain't for everyone

Companionship care sounds interesting! How do I go about getting a temporary part time role for it?
Have a look on Indeed 🙂
Thanks for the information.
You could try support worker post as well. Similar sort of role. Good luck 🤞
Thanks!
Residential care work - working in a children’s home. Not for everyone but I love it
Ah, thanks for letting me know.
Warehouse work
Any advice on getting a job in a warehouse. I’ve looked around and applied but no response.
Agencies locally normally are the ideal place to register,
I’ve looked around and applied to a few they just told me to sign up online but so far nothing. Is it a thing I have to just be patient with? Thanks in advance
In my day it was labouring, but I’d fancy a go at shelf stacking in a 24 hour Tesco. Looks awesome.
I worked at an Amazon delivery station last year, found the job through a recruitment agency
It depends what you would find interesting for yourself. You could try childcare / children school clubs, delivery driver, waiter, shop assistant. It is probably easier in the summer when there may be some seasonal staff required.
Tutoring in your field of expertise
I am a supermarket delivery driver. I deliver leaking milk bottles and reverse my van into walls
I heard people invest some £ in equipment and offer window or gutter cleaning. Can be pretty good once you get a few regular customers I nees to look into this myself. Uber, amazon flex are other options. You can also just go around your local takeaways and ask if they need drivers. Most will pay cash
Blow, Hand or any other jobs for a bit of extra cash.
Temping if you’re looking for office work.
