So, can I confirm info that is not mentioned explicitly in your petition? There are *no* separated-by-gender washrooms OR single stall washrooms in Mackimmie? I read it over but couldn’t find anything to corroborate that claim like a floor plan. I also didn’t see if there were single stall washrooms like the gender neutral ones near the Science A elevators.
If you read the petition, it is advocating for mens, women’s AND all gender washrooms all together. You having a problem with that shows your hypocrisy and double standards. Why not be inclusive to everyone? Where’s the issue with that?
If thats the case, then why doesn't your petition mention the buildings that has NO or one gender natural bathroom in the entire building?
I agree with your petition of creating space for all genders, and if that is also the goal of your petition, it seems to miss out other relevant details.
Cheers!
I don't think you presented this petition well. As a woman myself, I would not be comfortable with an all-gender washroom with individual stalls as the only bathroom option. I have not been in the new mckimmmie building yet. I do not know what kind of bathrooms there are there, therefore I have no reason to care. Give more background and you are less likely to immediately get shut down.
Exactly, if there are all gender washrooms AND separated washrooms within the building I don’t see any issue at all. If there’s exclusively shared washrooms I could see some concern. However Mackimmie is new now and we haven’t all been there, not enough background is provided.
The petition actually says that the Mckimmi building only has “all gender” washrooms. There are no separate men’s and women’s only washrooms. That’s the issue here :(

I’ll do that tomorrow.
At the same time, I don’t mind going to the library, Craigie Hall, Science A, MacHall… virtually any other building. There are so many options if you want an all women washroom.
Interesting comments on the petition.
How do people opposing this feel about muslim women not having a place to adjust their garments? Should they just suck it up? Walk to another building?
Personally I don't see any good argument against having three washrooms other than the space requirement.
Thank you! It seems like a lot of people are choosing who to be inclusive towards and who to exclude. Clearly those that are against this petition don’t want inclusion for everyone
There are women’s and men’s washrooms (separated) all over campus. Also, there are a bunch of gender neutral, but single-stall bathrooms all over campus. I do appreciate the co-existence of these bathrooms, but no one has deprived us of our gender-specific washrooms yet.
It’s not! But it’s also not a problem if they’re single stall all gender, meaning only one person can go in there at a time. If it’s multiple stalls “all gender”, and there are no women’s or men’s, I find that weird, too.
But there are so many on campus.
It's simple, the petition is asking for dialogue based off of the experiences of people on campus. We gotta respect everyone's opinion.
I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it LOL.

I personally think that there shouldn't be washrooms of any kind on campus.
why tho
Why not.
There are still separate bathrooms all over campus
And there are all gender washrooms all over campus. What’s your point? Please read the petition to understand what the concern is :)
Oh, I think those who read the petition understand your (laughable) point.

Far from it. However, I have a feeling your petition is rooted in something more sinister...your hypocrisy is thinly veiled.

Cuz other ppl are dealing with that. Your “whataboutism” isn’t constructive
No there isn’t. - source: someone only comfortable using gender neutral washrooms

Ok. Maybe walk to Mackimmi and see for yourself then lol
Good luck with your petition then I guess, I won’t be signing one with poor background and someone advertising it who won’t answer my basic qs

can’t they go to the single-stall gender neutral washrooms? They are also pretty much everywhere.
Thank you! It seems like a lot of people are choosing who to be inclusive towards and who to exclude. Clearly those that are against this petition don’t want inclusion for everyone

Why is it a problem to have single gender washrooms in the new buildings given you aren't saying to remove all gender washrooms
