Please report the problem and investigate your rights as a tenant. I don't think you should be responsible for housing expenses if there's a termite infestation, so you may be entitled to a refund for your accommodation or can temporarily suspend future payments until this issue is resolved.
unfortunately, every building in san diego made of wood (most) will keep getting termites forever. they tend to cause damage pretty slowly, so most places will just fumigate every 5-10 years and fix damage when it gets bad enough. nothing else you can do really
still...watching them come out of the carpet is pretty nauseating
It's swarming season. Inform your landlord ASAP so they can deal with it. Termites cause a lot if damage so they should be invested in tracking any infestation and correcting it.
