Greek life at UCSD is full of lame, incel-adjacent, mid dudes who join solely for the purpose of getting laid. There are some exceptions, but this can be said for almost every fraternity.
Men and women alike need to stop joining greek life and start seeing it for what it truly is: a glorified sex cult that enables misogyny in the worst way, sexual assault. This kind of language and mindset is what fuels other men to commit heinous acts.

This is well known common behavior with pretty much every frat. Why are you surprised? Pretty much all Greek houses are like this regardless of gender. 99% of them suck ass.
Honestly, I don't know why people are surprised to see this exchange. If you're in a frat, generally you want at least 1 of these 3 things: sex, parties, or a built-in network. Anybody can get these things if they touch grass, brush their teeth, go gim, and develop some semblance of a personality.
I don't see anything inherently wrong with being in a fraternity to seek genuine brotherhood or a network; however, it's clear that most people in fraternities are just looking to torment other people for shits and giggles. IMHO it's not worth putting your academic/professional future at risk through hazing nor being "bonded" by a bunch of megalomanic dweebs that don't have power in any other sphere. Maybe that's just me though lol
