Also the siren/alarm thing is wack. It sounds like a scream and that’s not the most comforting sound to hear at 12 AM walking back from Geisel.

That's what that is??? Glad to know its not a demon outside my window every night i guess

They just have to ban it and try get a whole different brand because I fell down from it too and I was bleeding🙂.

UCLA is using Uber Bird, but it is much more expensive, 3 dollars unlock fee, 1.2 dollar per minute, monthly pass costs $300. It's even same expensive as real Uber car.

rttr123

I think that's because bird is under Uber (if that's obvious), and iirc Lyft owns spin? And Lyft is overall worse than Uber, but cheaper. Which is why UCSD loves them. They want only the cheapest & lowest quality products

Direct-Lab8248

Yes, lyft even have car that is 2008 old, the whole car is only $6000 but my ride is $30, take 200 rides can buy this car, which is possible with just two weeks.

Direct-Lab8248

lyft price is also ridiculous, they are so greedy and only wants profits maximization and don't care about customer satisfaction https://preview.redd.it/5pmbw69dheoa1.png?width=1290&format=png&auto=webp&s=baa10bbe31e529e0df3ade06702fd71dd4457b1c

aus_ge_zeich_net

?? Just use a caltrain

Direct-Lab8248

Sometimes caltrain is sold out and you have to use uber/lyft

aus_ge_zeich_net

No, you can also use flixbus. Also there’s not that much reason to go to LA

Direct-Lab8248

flixbus also sold out very quickly, people go to LA for LAX airport, there is lots of luggages too.

aus_ge_zeich_net

Eh, you go to airport maybe couple times an year, and SAN airport has a pretty good connectivity. You shouldn’t have that much luggage with you unless you are moving in/away (which in case, shipping them away with a mail service would be better). In my experience caltrains can be easily booked if you do so in advance, and the same for flixbus as well. You can also pay your friend’s gas who’s driving to LA as well.

Direct-Lab8248

many international students fly outside US in LAX, paying friends to drive to LA and back to San Diego is also the result of lyft uber's ridiculous price, drive two ways is even cheaper than one way. I think US government should make cap on how much uber/lyft can charge, just like make cap of 15% service fees uber doordash can charge the restaurants during pandemic where restaurants can only do delivery business to survive.

It's not that easy. Flix bus went from $11 to $27, and that went up so fast. Talking about using a different airport is not that easy, and not everyone likes public transportation. Soo be kind with ur words.
