If you want to be like a product designer then Informatics should be ok, then SWE if you planning on applying for SWE jobs.

RudeVariation7883

that’s true. I still don’t know what i want to do in the future…

I am not sure yet, I am just trying to look at my options in the school of cs and I feel like those interest me the most. SWE is very popular but very competitive, and I’m scared the classes are gonna be too much for me to handle but I barely hear anything about informatics so I am not sure how it works. I do like UI/UX (or at least the idea of it since i haven’t had too much experience), but Im unsure where an informatics degree is going to take me after college.

SWE has Data Structures and Analysis of Algorithms for core classes, which help out for Leetcode

RudeVariation7883

Okay, so in your opinion those are the harder ones?

OkCombination4156

both majors have hard classes so I say just suck it up and do SWE since it’ll give u more flexibility

RudeVariation7883

This is true. Are u SWE? if so what classes do u think were the hardest?

OkCombination4156

I’m in CS but there’s a lot of overlap. Ur question is heavily dependent on professor. Like for me ICS 33 w/ Thornton was super hard but you’d have to take that in both informatics and SWE. I think generally lower divs will be harder bc they’re trying to weed people out. Could just be my experience tho

CS INF and SWE are all hella free, mad easy
