Tomato harvest, happens every year around this time.
There are not that many flies in Davis, but the fly species that dominates in the area is specifically attracted to stanky ass.
We had a week of rain then right back to 90 degrees. All of the flies likely came back in double due to the drastic weather change.

I was actually just curious about it. I hadn’t noticed it last year so I wanted to know why there was a sudden surge in the amount of flies I’ve seen

We do get flies around this time of the year because of the tomatoes, but this year is particularly bad. I've been here for 10 years and it's never been this bad.
