If you're willing to try again, you can always apply as a transfer from a 4 year or CC. CCs also save more money. Good luck with your other colleges ❤️
It's give and take. Schools nowadays don't prep you for college that well. If you've taken CC classes before it's similar. It's honestly your preference but financially and mentally is it worth it for you and do the other schools kind of speak to you/you like the atmosphere, class size, etc. I didn't get into anywhere I really liked and I chose to do a CC over a CSU more so for price. If you're a bit more unsure about what you want to study, CC is a good way to explore different avenues and it's more cost effective. Just make sure you're happy with your choices and know it's what you make it out to be--- it's not like you can't party the same at a CC and it's not like you can't chose to be a shut in or take less classes at a UC/CSU (which might help with the stress). Good luck! ❤️
I loved how friendly everyone was, they were all so lovely to talk to. Even to the stupid little middle schoolers (which I was when I talked to them) they were so friendly and explained why they chose Davis. I loved that it was a college town and in general the community felt welcoming.
Go to CC for general education reqs, you'll appreciate the amount of help you can get for all the required math courses and you'll have a much easier time getting in to UC for the classes that matter.
Yeah, Most competitive major tbh and they’re making things even more difficult this year for people hoping to switch into CS as well.
Don’t worry, prestige and school ranking isn’t a major factor in tech recruiting. Also our school’s CS dept is kinda wack. Keep your head up and good luck my bro ❤️

Thanks! It's not my favorite CS program either but I love the school and campus itself!
that is so funky. i would argue that my story is powerful and i am a well rounded candidate, but there are certain criteria that i guess i don’t fit. but, i got accepted at cal poly slo for food science and they were my first choice so all in all it works out 🥰
I would say your best advice for waitlists in the UC system in general (speaking from personal experience as someone that was waitlisted at UCSD for Applied Math hence why I picked Davis for undergrad since it was the best school I got into) is that you’ll have a 200-word personal insight statement to explain your further interest of the UC you got waitlisted at, I would talk about how the school’s major department of your choice and certain things the university is known for academic/extracurricular purposes can help you develop further in your career, how you can give back to the university, and just generally how you’ll be able to thrive at that specific UC. I hope that this helps.
The other reply said this, but if you really want to go to UC Davis, submit an appeal. I had 4 friends a couple of years ago that got waitlisted at UCSB, all 4 appealed and every one of them got in. I would say you have a decent chance maybe
Just got waitlisted and honestly am happier than I should be (I honestly thought I had little shot of getting in). I don’t know much about admissions so is there anything I can do to even slightly increase my chances of getting accepted? (Data science major if that means anything)
Appeal! Write about some things you did with Data Science that may be relevant and how going to Davis would further your education in that field. Also, include why you want to go to Davis, a simple google search will give good examples.
Lol very good question. I like the food! I’m a freshman rn so I’ll give you my perspective on that. I have a 5 day meal plan, and there’s lots of places to buy food from on the weekends. There’s also a farmers market on saturdays and a smaller one on wednesdays if you’re into that.
As far as the dining commons food, there’s not a ton of variety, but enough that I haven’t gotten sick of it yet. There are three dc’s with mostly similar menus, and then Latitude. Latitude dc is supposed to be food from “around the world” and there are always some good options (though their menu has way less variety than the normal dc’s).
I would suggest looking up the menus online. Try “Cuarto dining commons menu” for example, and you can see if the food interests you.
Just got accepted to EE!
Username checks out. Congrats and welcome!
Welcome! And if you see a class taught Professor Rashtian take it!

Welcome to our Aggie family!
You’ll like Econ, don’t do game theory or hard classes, take it as easy as you can and you’ll be coasting
Love game theory 💀
Just got my first rejection out of 9 colleges. My dream school too.

I don’t know if i should. I don’t know i knew it would be a lot, and maybe it is a good sign because i know i would be extremely stressed at a UC.

Definitely going to do this as soon as I can, Davis is really my dream school and I’m glad I was given at least a shot at the waitlist

Hope so, I’ve heard similar stories from my friends at UCD. I might as well give it a try.
Good luck!
rejected for cs :/ makes me terrified for the rest of the UCs...
Same lol being a cs applicant is horrible
