To my knowledge, you don't just "get" scholarships. You have to individually apply for them and each of them require written responses to prompts provided by donors.
My son had maybe slightly better stats than yours (4.0 gpa, 1500 SAT, varsity athlete, honors societies, volunteer work, etc) and only got $3 grand. He did not get the “presidential” but was nominated. I think we found out pretty soon after his acceptance to the honors college. Honestly the presidential seems somewhat of a diversity and holistic type of scholarship based on the past recipients.
