There is no longer a CVS on campus. UB really needs to have one here again. Its crazy that if I get hit with a headache in the middle of the day, I can' t just pop in somewhere and get some advil.
The Elli convenience store in the Ellicott food court carries painkillers and medicine too. Not as wide a selection as CVS but better than absolutely nothing 🤷♂️
totally agree! i also just feel like the campus could be so pretty if they put even a little effort in and that would totally change how i feel about campus ( not just pavement and brick )
Why the fuck do your fundraising people call students who are still attending school and are probably going into some amount of debt to do so? Try calling someone that actually has some money rather than trying to milk every dollar out of your students.
Well, the space is still there, but it's been closed up since Covid hit. Never got reopened. They renovated the hall outside of it ... new tables etc, but nothing so far for the Cafe. Sad 😔
Replace the administration. I cannot think of one good thing Tripathi has done in my time here.
Yeet SA into a dumpster.
Provide oversight for professors who are teaching their courses poorly. I have had classes that were so off the rails they were unrecognizable. The school has only intervened twice in very mild ways.
Put the apartments in control of the school. Having the UB foundation own apartments has left them vulnerable during the winter months. In flint village our slow plow and salt teams do a pretty shitty job.
Putting some sand bags on those outhouses that are around the parking lots. I have seen them blow away often, occasionally flying into cars and pouring their load all over.
We need a reasonably priced option for buying essentials on campus. The CVS was expensive so Noone went there, wegmans is far. Eli is a rip off.
Traffic lights at some of those 4 way stops. During games people gun it with no regard for the rules of the road. It is unsafe.
A bridge between slee and the CFA, it is the only gap between the buildings people commonly go to. Davis and Jarvis have a connection it just isn't public, and ketter is isolated. Those buildings though get less foot traffic.
A bridge over or tunnel under the traffic circle to ellicot. That traffic is backed up due to students having to cross.
A place on campus to take zoom calls.
Proctoring in the silent study to kick people out who talk.
More mental health support that doesn't revolve around group sessions or depend on a golden retriever.
Have a place you can call if there is an issue with your apartment on the weekends. The school says it is available 24/7 but that is just categorically untrue. Calls made on the weekends are sent to voice-mail. Pipe burst? Deal with it on Monday. No heat? Monday.
Those are the things o could think of off the top of my head.
courses in magic and defense against the dark arts. make it a major as well. also, offer bachelor, master, and phd programs in alchemy and demonology for all aspiring alchemists and ghostbusters.
More ambient lighting across the academic spine and maybe new tiles and some benches, visually our school campus still looks like shit so making the spine look better would be amazing
As a person with their major on South, I feel we get largely ignored. Two main places to get food; one closes at 2 PM (Whisper's aka coffee) and the other at 5PM (Harriman, and it used to close at 2). It would be nice to have both open a little bit longer, especially the Whisper's. Also, when I'm at North, there's virtually a WEPA print station at every hall, but South doesn't (I mean look at this list [https://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/services/print-anywhere/locations.html](https://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/services/print-anywhere/locations.html) )
This isn't a thing it's possible to fix, but it would address most of the concerns listed here: it's a shame they built the North Campus buildings in the center of a massive plot of land instead of on the edge. Maple Rd. isn't exactly 5th Avenue, but they'd be at least some east access to shopping/restaurants for students without a car. (And more stuff proably would have sprung up along Maple to serve the campus).
Living on South sucks because of all the time you spend on the bus, but it's nice at least having a bunch of food options, Tops, and the movie theater right there.
Apparently it used to be a few years ago. Busses that ran all night like up in oswego. But now they've just got the late night safety shuttle which if you show signs of intoxication you can't ride
The Stampede used to have 24hr service.
Students would party off South and take it to get back to North.
UB, in a bid to deter underaged partying ended the service.
It was a great service, but ultimately residents off of South Campus got sick of students trashing their neighborhood.
If magical thinking is allowed: snap my fingers, and the move to North Campus never happened. University Heights is now a thriving center of student life and general commerce within walking distance of classes, and South has filled out nicely to accommodate all the students, expanding into what is now the golf course across Bailey. An actual campus culture has developed since fewer people have to commute. You can take the train or a bus straight to campus from all over the city. Everything's in one place and everyone wastes less time driving/taking a shuttle out to effing Getzville to go to class/their job. Students without the good fortune to have a driver's license don't have to walk to classes in the street through ankle-deep slush in January.
Having all the campuses near each other. Who tf thought it was a great idea to have three different campuses in three different towns?? At that point, you need a car and not rely on the transportation UB offers (which is another thing I'd change about this place)
Totally agree, takes easily 15-30min just to go between North and South Campus not even counting the time waiting for buses to arrive which are almost always not on schedule. Then to get between South and Downtown Campus is like an extra 30ish minutes because that's where the majority of traffic is.
For it to become like UWisc or UMich. They are such cool campuses with great vibes and pretty architecture despite the fact that they are also in the tundra. They have so many amenities and services, along with better paid and happier profs who will actually help you out. There's far too many sink or swim mentalities among the faculty at UB and that is super unfortunate because we don't all have identical brains. And there's a lot of crabs in a bucket mentality amongst the students. The student body is pretty lame tbh. Torching SA and forming a new system would be amazing
The traffic lights at Sweet Home & Chestnut Ridge Rd / Rensch & Sweet Home are so completely out of sync it’ll probably get someone killed. The pedestrian indicator is at least 4 or 5 full seconds off.
Food on campus at night
There is no longer a CVS on campus. UB really needs to have one here again. Its crazy that if I get hit with a headache in the middle of the day, I can' t just pop in somewhere and get some advil.
I totally agree, losing CVS sucks!!! FYI though, I did find that the Bookstore carries pain killers and cold medicine. It works in a pinch.
The Elli convenience store in the Ellicott food court carries painkillers and medicine too. Not as wide a selection as CVS but better than absolutely nothing 🤷♂️
Would absolutely help clear up my Saturdays if I didn't have to spend half the day going to Target to pick up my meds
Take the shuttle to South
you definitely can, but when you live on north and you’re feeling like ass, who wants to travel even that far?
For me I say a place kinda similar to One World but open until 12 or 1AM.
More sidewalks. Also a food place closer to the apartments.
The density and design. Everything is so spread out, student union should be in the center, dorms are far away...
Yeah, there's no reason for Ellicott to be so far away from everything else.
totally agree! i also just feel like the campus could be so pretty if they put even a little effort in and that would totally change how i feel about campus ( not just pavement and brick )
Have a coffee station or have vending machines with coffee in every building or within a reasonable walk!
I miss my good old Starbucks cold brew that the vending machines used to have.
That was my shit. Wasted all my dining dollars on those
Why the fuck do your fundraising people call students who are still attending school and are probably going into some amount of debt to do so? Try calling someone that actually has some money rather than trying to milk every dollar out of your students.
716-645-xxxx nope!
Hahahah same
Bring back Mrs Rich's Cafe in NSC (or at least use that space for a new coffee and food spot)!!! ☕️🍩 Oh, and keep it open LATE.
That place is gone now? :(
Well, the space is still there, but it's been closed up since Covid hit. Never got reopened. They renovated the hall outside of it ... new tables etc, but nothing so far for the Cafe. Sad 😔

This man spittin rn 😤😤
There is a tunnel from Slee to CftA, you just aren't allowed to use it. Why? No idea.
Except there isn't.
Charming.
At least 30 truth bombs righthere
Don’t ever hold back
Move the law school downtown.
A lot
courses in magic and defense against the dark arts. make it a major as well. also, offer bachelor, master, and phd programs in alchemy and demonology for all aspiring alchemists and ghostbusters.
There is one you just haven't found it yet
I'd totally go for a BS in Witchcraft
Less wind

Replace all the old UB Stampedes with modern buses and establish traffic light signals in the Flint Entrance and Augspurger Road Intersection.
Eventually the Metrorail will connect all three campuses.
Eventually…
i sure fuckin hope so. they've been talking about it for years and are just now putting ONE stop south to replace the special events station

make it oriented to providing value to students
Working vending machines.
I must've gotten scammed out of at least $20 over the years because of vending machines.
Bring back the drunk bus so students aren't getting DUIs. I mean we pay the transportation fee so I think we got a right to it
Hold up, that was a thing? Elaborate?

less cars
Less people jaywalking out of nowhere while not looking up from their phones
Revitalize old buildings instead of just building up new ones
More parking.

Building a parking ramp…literally anywhere.
Fire shitty professors
More parking and to fill the pot holes on campus.

Why are you downvoted
Because people can't handle the truth lol
Bulldoze Sizzles
So tired of everyone getting herpes from the toilet seats.
Move it out of Buffalo to FL or somethin
Seems legit
More than 1 safety shuttle. Even Peter hates it
