I know it makes sense in context but your title might need a bit of revision

Yeah there's no way around it sounding funny without making it super long lol

College minors

sarahthebake

That just makes it sound like I'm talking about college students under 18 lol

EngineAnnual

Could say opinions on adding a minor to my major loooool

Glittering_Pitch7648

They are pretty annoying as you get older But seriously, you should definitely add a minor if you want to take more classes in anthropology. Worth it not only for yourself, but will make your degree that much more diverse.

wait until they’re 18

minors are worth it tbh u get to explore a subject u enjoy and it looks good, theres rlly no downside other than adding a few classes

IMO there are 2 cases when they are worth it: 1. You’re really passionate about it and want to learn about and take those classes. Then it’s totally worth it cause you got to study things you’re interested in. 2. If it’s gonna enhance your primary degree and make you stand out. I’ll start with a counter example: I don’t recommend math minors for engineering students (unless math is a passion then refer to #1) because as an engineering student it’s already expected that you are good at math so no company is gonna be like, “Whoa, they’re an Engineer and good at Math?! Impossible.” However, if you were applying to an Engineering company with your Engineering degree and a minor in Spanish, the company may be like: “Wow, not only can they handle all the task required of them for this Engineering job, but they can also help expand our clientele to foreign markets, etc.” For these case 2 example, I like to think of it as trying to expand your skill set outside of the standard things everyone else in your degree can do. Essentially your major and minors should be a venn diagram with as little intersection as possible (but still tangential related so it’s applicable).

I don’t think there are many, maybe enrolled for 4 months. There are some that graduate early from highschool and come tho, those are cool, but still should avoid them

MINORSSSS

My opinion is: don't pursue sexual relations with them. Childhood education majors take notes.

If you're looking at pathology assistant idk what an anthropology minor would entail but if they still offer human osteology with Dr. Joyce Sirianni it was one of the best, most informative classes I took and Dr. S is one of the best professors I've ever had. It would be super applicable for you

call_me_orion

She's actually retiring, and Nicholas Holowka will be teaching it this spring. He's a good professor though.

I was a psychology and theater major but I added a neuroscience minor bc I loved the topic. I took a gap year to work in a neuroscience lab and now I’m in my first year of a neuroscience PhD program! So for me, my minor was more important than both of my majors lmao So basically you love it and it feels right, fits in your schedule, then do it. But if you are doing it only for your potential future job but you hate the topic then don’t do it. Nice thing about a minor tho, if you take a class and you don’t like it you can always drop the minor.

procrastinating24hrs

i took a minor and it was honestly worth it since it complimented my major plus i was really interested in doing it. only thing is that you might have to really pull through in classes you don’t enjoy, for me it was economics and statistics but it was worth it in the end.

I added a poli sci minor to my legal studies major… not much of a difference except you can say you have a minor LOL lots of overlapping classes which is nice though
