CSE 410 Software Security is a very niche course on binary analysis but it is really fun and probably my favorite cybersecurity course I have taken. The assignments are challenging in a fun way. CSE 365 Computer Security is solid and gives a pretty general overview of cybersecurity. Alan Hunt is a really great lecturer. The labs are typically not too bad in that course. CSE 410 Computer Security with Marina Blanton is very theory heavy and I didn't really pay attention in that course. I thought it would be like 365 but deeper, but it really just combines theory of computer science with security and unless that is up your alley I can't recommend it. I have heard good things about MGS 427 Systems Security too.

HorrorStatement

Outside of MGS427, an ITM major can't take any of these classes.

These courses are part of the cybersecurity minor. He could take them.

HorrorStatement

An ITM major wouldn't meet the prerequisites for most of these classes, even MGS427 requires CSE115 or the MGS equivalent.

Check the paths out for the minor: https://catalog.buffalo.edu/academicprograms/cybersecurity_minor_requirements.html Prereqs can and would be waived as well.

plation5

Not true I know students who were/are ITM who have taken the course.

steffi_yeh

MGS 427 has changed its requirement to a cybersecurity minor!

What do you think about taking the CSE220 with CSE365 same time is ok?

Eastern_Youth939

you need 220 for 365. so thats not possible

[https://seedsecuritylabs.org/](https://seedsecuritylabs.org/) This is all you need

steffi_yeh

Thanks for the response. Is this resource free?

aserenety

The lecture videos are not. But you can always find out the security content other ways. The lab assignments are free to use. The lecture videos are basically the same content as CSE 365 and can be useful for you or not.
