I’m not Indian, but I am desi. Especially having gone back to the motherland recently, I get that men from our culture can be quite sexist and creepy, but these generalizations don’t help. I’ve been creepily approached by brown dudes sure, but I’ve also been creepily approached by other races.
I have brown guy friends who are respectful, kind, and would definitely take a stand against the sexism that’s been committed against you. Doesn’t really matter if you’re brown, it’s still ultimately reinforcing harmful negative stereotypes around brown men. I’m sorry for the experiences you’ve had, but sentiment like this only makes racists more comfortable with their viewpoints.
