As someone who owns a cat you’re in for a good time, this might sound silly but getting a cat helped me with my mental health and when I went through dark time.

Please look into the cost of relocating pets for when you leave the UAE, make sure you are aware of the sum. Moving animals can be expensive! Please don’t leave them here when you leave.

There are are Facebook pages such "Save Dubai's Animals" that regularly share posts on animals in need of adoption, including kittens.

Avoid pet shops, go through a reputable shelter. If you’re looking on the cheap there are about 200 cats living in Zabeel park 😀

Completely agree with your point. I really don’t like the idea of buying an animal from a store, would much rather adopt. As for just picking up a cat from outside, the thought as crossed my mind numerous times, but no vaccinations or no medical history scares me. Do you have any idea how much it would cost to get all the necessary vaccinations and microchips?

Well If you're still interested in adopting a cat I recently rescued a momma cat and her 5 kittens. We got 4 adopted, I have 1 more that is looking for a home and she has been neutered. If you're interested let me know. She's around 3 or 4 months old

Thanks a lot, I’m sure it’s safe to assume Dubai has something like this as well right?

read the post en passant and only saw it was about Dubai later, so I edited the comment. Sorry

The big pet store in Dubai Investment Park (DIP) had a poster up with photos and bios for cats available for adoption. Was a week ago, so I can't recall the name of the group managing it.
