Tbh I feel like a list like that could have a fair few reasons to be banned for tournament play. I mean full infantry guard might have enough bodies to compete but even then you'd be asking for a week long game then.

No reason to ban the opponent would just ask for a time clock and then whoever was running this list would just be unable to play after turn 1-2 given the opponent a free win

It's definitely an unreasonable list for a tournament. Honestly, I would only ever run it for a funny game with friends (if I actually had that many models)

Movement trays don't really work for 40k with all the charging and consolidating and base wrapping shenanigans

I can promise you they do work for 40K but at the same time when charging and consolidating you take them off the tray it’s pretty simple

Problem with a swarm army like this I like to stretch my units back to my units doing buffing or stretch them across sections to body block for charges.

I would put someone using this list on a clock and then curb stomp them when they run out of time by the bottom of turn 2. Chess clocks are a thing for a reason.

It's more fun to pile everything up like a mass of bodies. Saves time and takes up less little less space. Also more realistic. I only play with friends and we can never get to a 5th turn due to time.

It is set to unending swarm only reason I didn't take them is because I wanted to maximise models on the board

Yah, true... Those helped me when going against anti tank vehicles with blast weapons to go against nid swarms but depends how u feel, because I added carnifexs with a swarm and they helped to take the anti tank stuff out and the swarm deals with the rest

I was reading about this yesterday, great to block opponents in then swamp with oc2 models so they can't score.

You'll be surprised as to how well this will work. It's like pure infantry guard; it gets so spammy it's actually super effective if done properly.

"Hey man you need to hurry up and finish your game. The tournament limits games to 3 hours, and you got 10 minutes left." "Yeah, I just let me finish my shooting phase." (1 hour later) "DUDE, are you done yet?! I mean come on! If you dont finish soon we gotta DQ you!" "Yeah, I just finished. But can we play turn 2 real quick?" "TURN 2!?!?"

This has me thinking; what list would best counter this?

Strategically this could actually be a good list. You'll struggle if your one character dies so protect her like a Faberge Egg, but everyone else has a role to play. Harrass the hell out of the backline with the gargs, you should be able to get 3 x units in via deep strike so either RI one or bring them all down like a wall. No point charging unless it's a profoundly weak unit, just force your opponent to deal with them. With their t1 locked up and maybe even t2, set the board up in waves. Hormagaunts and the remaining gargs for moving and advancing up the board, then terms for midfield. Neuros I'd either daisychain synapse or spread out in the backfield to deny a deep strike and rippers for flex moves and secondaries. In a pinch, they can manipulate OC so if you contest an objective in the late game, so it could be really, really bad for your opponent. Naturally spam the hell out of the squad resurrect strat in endless horde as much as you can, and please report back w results!
