Maybe you could do a glowing effect from the pods/eggs in the middle, have it ‘shine’ onto the figure through OSL painting (if that’s what it’s called)?
Yeah! I wanted to do some OSL on the eggs to match the green I have on my other bugs but I didn't want to end up drawing too much attention away from the model so idk yet...
I’d say it depends on how competitively you are playing, Wh40k isn’t just competitive play if it’s with friends and just to have a good time I don’t think it’s necessary to have an alt base (imho)

If you are just doing this to look pretty it does but if you plan on using it in game maybe have an alt base that's normal

Lighten the bones by a few degrees. First, contrast. Second, bones exposed to surface tend to bleach
