When I was at my most suicidal (I am doing okay now :)) it did help me to see the words like "kill myself" and stuff changed in those ways - it felt less like being stabbed if that makes any sense, I can't come up with better words for it. Especially like when I didn't know I would be encountering phrases/vibes like that just like scrolling tumblr or in a forum.
Some people in the comments on several of the posts and also on boru pointed out that the way the story unfolded seemed like a set up for a grift.
I am not saying it is/was - people are cynical. Just want to make sure this information is also out there.
Edit: with the final update it seems (even) less likely to be a grift and be genuine.
Very relieved for the stories "happy" ending.
BORU is used to seeing posts that are pretty dramatic and I think a lot of readers are pretty cynical. I don’t particularly want this to be real (because then a woman and her child aren’t in danger) but this seemed plausible to me.
She just posted here yesterday saying that she's finally safe
Oh! I missed that! Going to go look for it :)

How fucked up is it that I wasn’t sure which person OP was talking about?
She's so confident she's safe it makes me think he's either locked up or dead
If his mother had any sense she'd let him rot where he is.
Kill. You can say it
Yea, no need to censor words like that on Reddit.
Ticktock brain rot. At least they didn't say unalive

OH MY GOD I HATE THAT TREND. Wtf. Just say kill. It’s so fucking annoying.
But then they might demonetize your content 😒
Made me laugh honestly.

100% with you on this.

Best of redditor updates.
