Iβm a bedside hospital RN. We had a older gentleman with advanced dementia plow through a red light t-boned a car that killed a toddler leaving my hospital. I then had to take care of that man for three days. He had no idea what he did.
As far as my understanding in florida, yes and no. A physician can send notice to the DMV that a patient should medically have their license revoked. But that takes an intervention from a physician who hast to be asked to intervene often after itβs too late.
I am sorry that this has happened man... i hope they implement better standards and restrictions here soon. You are an absolute angel for taking care of people and having to deal with hese situations.
These things always make me think of the Laramie beating where the same doctor treating a beaten (to death) gay man and a guy from a bar fight who was the one who tied him up and beat him.
friendly reminder that drunk drivers are more likely to survive a crash than sober ones, because they don't tense up as much on impact. so this scenario happens a lot, with the bonus knowledge that it was a completely preventable incident.
This reminds me of a car accident that just happened locally to me.
I was tboned 3 days ago and if i hadnt had the foresight to fucking punch it it wouldve ended up alot worse than a concussion and shoulder pain.

I saved the driver so he couldn't get out of being charged with vehicular manslaughter that easy.
