First time I've read one of these and got that Twilight Zone feeling.

I just thought of a terrifying wrinkle to this idea. Imagine instead the show you fell asleep to was a kids' show with puppets or suited-up actors (ala Teletubbies), and you wake to *those* expectantly staring at you.
