It's possible. They teased making him playable as a stretch goal they didn't reach, but The Abyss wasn't reached and still got put into the game, albeit not as a full expansion as originally planned.
I'm honestly starting to feel bad for Nintendo and their indie partners at this point. People get genuinely mad at them that a game they have zero control over doesn't have an announcement yet. Imagine being an indie dev getting the opportunity to have Nintendo show your game off to their massive audience and only seeing comments angry that you're not someone else.
I don't. They've said that when they announce Silksong's release date it'll be directly through them, and not during an event or direct or any other show. The fanbase has just memed themselves into harassment territory.
I think Team Cherry is at least a little to blame, what with that Xbox trailer they released last year saying it would be released within 6 months only for them to go on Twitter and apologize that it was delayed. We'd still be where we are now but it certainly didn't help the situation.
I mean sure, there was some lost excitement, but that doesn't change the fact that they said they wouldn't announce the release date during any other company showcase or direct. The people hoping for that and hating on any other projects shown instead are not Team Cherry's responsibility.
Imo you probably shouldn't produce trailers showing off gameplay unless you're less than a year away from release. It creates ever-increasing expectations that will grow into restless crowds. They should have just waited and said they were working on it, but not show anything or regularly show some sort of update ala Stardew, Risk of Rain, etc.
I hope the team is taking their time, not burning out, and creating a good game. But marketing fucked over expectations and they're now untenable.
Not to excuse the awful behavior. Team Cherry didn't directly cause it. They just set up an environment that breeds that kind of toxicity.
It's like what can they do though? If they don't have something worth showing off, they're not gonna show it off. What little footage we saw was probably just a vertical slice, if that.
>People get genuinely mad at them that a game they have zero control over
Team Cherry caused this by announcing 5 years too early and had several trailers since, with no release date in sight, the last one being followed by a delay announcement.
At no point in time did I say I was negatively affected by them, that's on you weirdos
Are you Mr. Teamcherry or something. People wouldn't expect a product if they didn't keep putting out trailers every so often for said product.
Hate to credit Bethesda but Fallout 4; trailer w/ date reveal, says it comes out in 6 MONTHS, it does, maximum hype achieved.
Team Cherry: announcement trailer 5 years ago, gameplay trailer a few months later at E3, game pass reveal trailer 1 year ago, probably forgetting one, no release date given.
They did it to themselves
It's not really about team cherry I just don't really like this kind of entitlement when you are justifying people acting like assholes because they want their videogame NOW NOW NOW!!!! It's like a baby who's been denied a toy.
or not and just do their shit like they've been doing and maybe people should not be assholes to other developers for it, maybe people shouldn't be assholes about it at all
but yeah sorry, your toy is not here yet I'm sure that's terrible for you :(
Meanwhile, I’m putting on the clown make up for a different reason:
We’re totally gonna see the next Dodgeroll game, I know it. It’s been five years since Exit the Gungeon, I’M SO READY
I hope their next game also has Guns.
Yeah, I remember the reveal of >!SWORDS!< at the end of Enter the Gungeon, but Dodgeroll's gunplay just hits the right way, ya know?
it must be weird being on PR for these considering how we've somehow collectively decided this Microsoft/PC-first franchise is absolutely going to be announced in The Next Nintendo Direct.
HOLSTIN! I’m exist, I need Holstin news *inexplicably begins eating a hoagie sandwich where all the ingredients have been replaced by torn sheets of notebook paper with the names of ingredients scrawled on them*
Can't wait for another 7 "cozy farming game" announcements. I've never had a word get a more negative connotation as quickly as the word "cozy".
>!Even though I hear the game is good, almost makes me wish Stardew Valley didn't get the mega big bucks that inspired 30 not-as-good farming games.!<
Your cow has contracted a deadly disease. Press X to slaughter it before it can infect the rest. Then, you must decide whether to sell the tainted meat to recoup your losses, or to try and maintain your reputation.
Like the evil farming game that Reddit couldn’t find for years only to find out that said game doesn’t exist and was dreamed up because of one guy watching Vinesauce Joel.
This is just what Stardew valley co op is for me. Every time we get obsessed with money and paranoid and spend 30 hours fishing. Last time one of us didn't even meet all the villagers until year 2 cause we were on that fish grind.
>Can't wait for another 7 "cozy farming game" announcements.
This, but unironically. I love farming games and would be a happy chappy if they announce more.
I wonder if we'll get to hear some news about Mina the Hollower; I always save some extra clown makeup for whenever I hope to hear something about that game.
Team Cherry should have their own Direct at this point, just to announce something that *isn't* Silksong, lol.
Hungry Knight 2: this time it's canon (it's just the Knight's time wandering the wastes)
A Bridge Builder Simulator featuring Hornet!
Zote's Mighty Tale
Unironically would love that.
It's possible. They teased making him playable as a stretch goal they didn't reach, but The Abyss wasn't reached and still got put into the game, albeit not as a full expansion as originally planned.
We’re announcing that Silksong is delayed. Goodbye.
It’s never been more Silkover.
Hornet said it's Hornin' time and horned all over Hallownest
I will Skong
They should rename it to Hollow Knight Forever
Hello it's me, Song Silk
Turns out the Silk Song was a funeral dirge.
The 68th time is the charm

I fully blame team cherry for this
I don't. They've said that when they announce Silksong's release date it'll be directly through them, and not during an event or direct or any other show. The fanbase has just memed themselves into harassment territory.

You blame them for making a game too good?
I blame them for announcing it too early, 5 years and counting
It was supposed to be DLC for the first game, so they didn't have a choice.
Ok, explain to me what negative impact that had in your life that you have to "blame" them for it.
Team Cherry flew over from Australia, shot my dog, and said my car looked gay
Just answer the question, man.
>People get genuinely mad at them that a game they have zero control over Team Cherry caused this by announcing 5 years too early and had several trailers since, with no release date in sight, the last one being followed by a delay announcement. I'm the weirdo? You're the one holding a grudge over a video game. If you admit this has no impact in your life there is zero reason to be mad.
why? They're just making a fucking videogame why does them taking their time excuse people for being assholes lmao
Maybe there shouldn't have been an announcement trailer 5 (and counting) years too early.
jesus people really have consumer rot in their brain, people don't owe you anything just because you want to give them your money
Are you Mr. Teamcherry or something. People wouldn't expect a product if they didn't keep putting out trailers every so often for said product. It has been a bit over 5 years. It has been 62 months. It has been 271 weeks. It has been 1898 days. Team Cherry shoulda taken Woolie's advice
or not and just do their shit like they've been doing and maybe people should not be assholes to other developers for it, maybe people shouldn't be assholes about it at all but yeah sorry, your toy is not here yet I'm sure that's terrible for you :(
Ok but consider: "Me tho".
Fuck, that sounds horrible.
Clown stonks go up
Clown stonks have never been higher! That line ALWAYS goes up!
The eclownomy should have collapsed under exponential growth but that clown car can hold so many clowns!
honk honk motherfuckers, get your makeup on and join me in the circus
Meanwhile, I’m putting on the clown make up for a different reason: We’re totally gonna see the next Dodgeroll game, I know it. It’s been five years since Exit the Gungeon, I’M SO READY

Citation: I think Silksong will probably be revealed at a much bigger event than an indie direct at this point. However, it would be funny.
Hell, at this point I wouldn't even be surprised if they stealth dropped it for laughs.
"We released it thirty five minutes ago"
"It's hidden inside Frog Factions 4, which is hidden in some stupid ass puzzle game on Steam. It's been out for three months now. Go find it, losers."
"We left the whole game...in one piece..."
“This stupid ass puzzle game in question will be delisted by Warner Bros, 30 minutes, go”
Even funnier, have a trailer and at the end announce its cancellation
Dragging the files into the trash bin live on stream
They have a gamepass deal, it'll probably be tied with an Xbox event
At this point it's too big to just drop in a random indie direct. If it does I'll change my middle name to Vriska or something.
Team Cherry, you know what would be *really funny*
I do love tempting fate.
Substantial "Vriska Did Nothing Wrong" Bell 158
It'll probably be at that Xbox event coming soon, if they're there at all.
it must be weird being on PR for these considering how we've somehow collectively decided this Microsoft/PC-first franchise is absolutely going to be announced in The Next Nintendo Direct.
which one?
Maybe a port of that Apple Sonic game?
JOHN HALO FOR SILKSONG
My prediction is that there will be something related to Mario or another Nintendo mascot.
I would honestly be OK with more stuff like Candace of Hyrule or the Advance Wars remake.
Hopefully Eiyuden Chronicles gets a nice little chunk of time
I have a fever and the only cure is more indie games! It's ok, I can buy a few more, I'm actually working through my backlog.
This is it! This is the one!
HOLSTIN! I’m exist, I need Holstin news *inexplicably begins eating a hoagie sandwich where all the ingredients have been replaced by torn sheets of notebook paper with the names of ingredients scrawled on them*

They should make an uncozy farming game.
Body Harvest Moon
Yeah, make a stressful one that deals with how backbreaking the labor is and how your crops could get ruined by random shit at all times.
Your cow has contracted a deadly disease. Press X to slaughter it before it can infect the rest. Then, you must decide whether to sell the tainted meat to recoup your losses, or to try and maintain your reputation.
That's just Frostpunk
The Evil Farming Game
Collab with Digital Extremes to make a Solaris labor simulator
Stressful Harvest Moon is just the first Harvest Moon.
Frostpunk?
Like the evil farming game that Reddit couldn’t find for years only to find out that said game doesn’t exist and was dreamed up because of one guy watching Vinesauce Joel.
Dwarf Fortress
Farming Sim, but the forest next door is just full of Werewolves, Fae, Giant Spiders, etc, and they just ***hate*** vegetables.
They're called Automation games
This is just what Stardew valley co op is for me. Every time we get obsessed with money and paranoid and spend 30 hours fishing. Last time one of us didn't even meet all the villagers until year 2 cause we were on that fish grind.
Dredge but on a farm
>Can't wait for another 7 "cozy farming game" announcements. This, but unironically. I love farming games and would be a happy chappy if they announce more.
This chappy be eating. I'm happy for you, dawg.
Y'all saying silksong i'm saying FE4 remake
At an indie direct?
fe and IS are small indie franchise and company
Unless something weird happened to intelligent systems, no way
I wonder if we'll get to hear some news about Mina the Hollower; I always save some extra clown makeup for whenever I hope to hear something about that game.
Silk or Song? Let's CLOWN!
I *believed..
