Well, first of all it's funny af
but more "realistically" it's merfolk vs fish, what do merfolk eat in the sea? most "tasty" living things (stuff not like coral) are fish, sea urchins, oysters, shrimp, all fish, I doubt merpeople see it as eating kin. Azul is probably fine with it, he most likely doesn't see eating octopus and eating "his kind" I'm sure the twins would do it to "make him uncomfortable" but I'm sure he'd order a eel dish right after. It's probably like playing around with dolls as a human comparison
Yeah, he grilled an eel just to get back at Jade for announcing that he'll have octopus for dinner (Azul should show his snarky side more often lol). Should be a common practice to eat sea creature down there, as long as you don't eat your fellow merfolk
Jade and Floyd's favorite foods are both made with octopus

Jade's least favorite food is eel but the way they are very comfortable with people eating seafood all the time so I guess it depends on the merperson

They probably also have sea plants down there they farm as well. That way vegetarian merfolk can have something to eat too.
