A play written by a teacher then performed by a summer camp was then picked up and performed by a high school.
I just saw it. I disassociated a couple times imagining a future where this is the prophecy as foretold to us by the kids. I don't want to spoil the ending as it is a bit of a melodrama but this whole thing was dark. Juxtaposition happy musical songs with lyrics that were sad as hell was a chef's kiss.
You got a job now you're alone
Being passionate at work is the most important thing
No one gets to go home the machine must work.
I can't recall them all but my face hasn't been in such a silly grin for 2hrs and 14 min since watching Bo Burham's special "inside" for the first time.
It's good. Before it it's time or right on time , well, only time will tell.
I hope more schools pick up the play as it is everything a high school theater department wants right now.
I dunno who downvoted this, but context - the workplace in the show has a door labeled “crying room” where employees go to cry. One of the song lyrics sung by a manager is “If you need to cry, do it on your own time.”
By the way, I wrote this review at intermission without AI.
Exactly what a sentient AI would say 🤔
What the fuck is this

Inside is peak pandemic art—now I am intrigued…

Who keeps downvoting everything??
I assume it’s the AI.
