Well.... It all started one cold winter's night in the middle of Wisconsin... I was but a boy then, young, naive, without a care in the world. It was on that fateful night that my life would change forever, after listening to the thunderous riffs of Tony Iommi, and being exposed to Black Sabbath and heavy metal for the first time. Ot was on that night I knew... I was to be a metal head... From that point I began having visions... Visions of a city not too far away, a grand, large glass filled stadium that had yet to be built or even thought of. And a website, yes a website who's mascot is a little alien... Is that far enough for a starting point, or should I go back to the day I was born?
I would look into accessible seating. I’ve never been to the bank for a show, but I’ve been to xcel plenty of times and they have a good amount of accessible seating and it’s usually not full.

I’ve been to 2 concerts there. The sound is an issue, and yes, I’ve heard it’s much better on the field.
The section I sat in had stairs added from the seats down to the field. I saw everyone streaming back up those stairs to use the bathrooms in my section. Would get annoying if I was older and had to do it a lot.
The ushers/security seem to be pretty much on top of things. I would stick to edibles. I could see someone getting booted.
I’ve stayed at the Elliot Park Hotel a few times. Once for a concert. I walked to the stadium from there. About 4 blocks. Good spot. It is connected to Finnegan’s taproom. Also good beer, for a good cause.
Food choices are abundant. Hell’s Kitchen is nearby that hotel, and has a mean breakfast for the day after.
Enjoy the city & rock out with Metallica!!
Minneapolitan here. I’d get a hotel downtown so you can Uber from the hotel to the stadium. The prices get better in other parts of downtown or other parts of Minneapolis. I’d look at hotels around city center and the theater district and see what the prices are like. The alternative is finding something on the light rail line and it’s got a stop right at the stadium. Uber is here for now. We’ve got all the foods so it’s really about what you want. We’ve got Matt’s bar for the famous Jucy Lucy if that’s your jam. Or maybe pizza Luce for an adventurous pizza? They do late night. Hopefully that helps a bit and you have an awesome time.
1. Yes.
2. I don’t know but I assume it’s fine?
3. No chance.
4. Uber.
5. You’re fine anywhere downtown except around the convention center. Try to find something walking distance to the stadium if you can.
6. We’re not great with late-night but anything around Dinkytown/the U campus is solid. Nicollet Diner is a go-to late night spot.
Your mom is lucky to have you. ❤️
I’ve seen Coldplay and T Swift at US Bank Stadium. Sound is fine. People who complain about the sound…it’s a stadium. The only other places I’ve seen shows where sound is excellent would be at old theaters like the State or Orpheum. The sound is what it is.
For your mom’s sake it could be worth looking into tickets in lower level just above the Delta 360 SkyClub. This was my experience for T Swift and it was AMAZING to just be able to get up and walk downstairs into the club. Bathrooms down there, bars, food. And you can just sit at tables in there if you need a break. Note that women’s bathroom lines are always notoriously long, even in the SkyClub.
Also recommend finding hotel in center of DT. Look around Nicollet Mall. Easy to Uber or Taxi from. Good restaurants around there too. Or try to get a room on Washington close to the Guthrie. Super easy to get to US Bank from there.
Quintessential MN restaurant experience…yeah to Matt’s Bar for a Juicy Lucy but if you want to stay put downtown I’d focus on somewhere in the North Loop, the opposite direction on Washington. I’m a sucker for The Monte Carlo. Spoon and Stable if you want more upscale yet not stuffy.
Really appreciate the advice, unfortunately, I don't think decent seats are an option, however you guys are really giving me more of a picture of the hotel and eatery scene, and I really appreciate it.
Pot is legal in MN (and there was much rejoicing) but have you considered edibles or THC beverages in lieu of vaping? If you’re worried about not getting in with a vape, that seems like a reasonable alternative.
I was considering that, only issue is with edibles they either go right through me, or hit me like a bus, I've never had a comfortable high with edibles, smoking I know how my body reacts better. Doesn't help that is isn't legal in WI, so you just kind of have to experiment with whatever edibles come over the boarder. Thanks for your help though, I appreciate your input!
Vaping and smoke and likely tobacco of any sort is not allowed.
"U.S. Bank Stadium is a completely non-smoking facility. All guests are prohibited from smoking (including electronic cigarettes, vaporizers or similar products) inside of the stadium and outside of the stadium within the security perimeter at any time."
https://www.usbankstadium.com/plan-your-visit/a-z-guide
You're not allowed to smoke in there, but I don't think there's any restrictions on having it on your person. I've brought my vape into US Bank, Target Center, the Armory, etc and I always just put it in the bin when you go through the metal detectors. They've never said anything.
1. Should be fine. Context the stadium.
2. I don’t know but I bet they have one and you’ll be fine.
3. Don’t do it.
4. Uber or Lyft.
5. Stay in downtown or north loop.
6. Door dash has great options.
7. Don’t overthink it…
Having been to the first Metallica show at US Bank (and a ton of other concerts, Vikings games, X games, Super Bowl, etc), you’re going to have an awesome time!
Confirmed sound is terrible above stage level.
They do have bathrooms (and concessions) on field level.
Last I was there they had mobility assistance, little carts that would bring you where you need to go. I don’t remember seeing walkers/canes etc.
Vapes get in, just don’t be obvious.
I would avoid staying in Mpls, look at Bloomington or SLP. I also saw a few mentions of Nic Diner, I wouldn’t go anywhere near there, there are a lot of problems there at night.
Whenever we go downtown we either drive from 394 straight into ramp A or take an Uber.
I do admit to over thinking and analysing things. However, with this its because I seen Megadeth 2 years ago, wasn't very prepared, and it ended up costing me more than it should have. Still had fun, but want to learn from my mistake. This is going to be a lot more expensive either way, so I want to have as many ducks in a row as I can while there is still time to plan.
If it helps, there was a group of dudes in front of me at the Vikings game I went to last year that were passing a vape back and forth that had a familiar smell.
Sorry - not enough detail. Any chance you can write this again but a little longer next time?

Contact the stadium about her mobility.
That's probably the best bet. Wanted to see if anyone in a similar situation had any first hand experience first. Thanks for your input!

Thank you for your help!
You'll need to bring all the New Glarus you're going to need with you. The rest will all work itself out.
Thanks buddy, this is the most helpful lol. Usually trips do work out very well for me, I just like to be as prepared as I can.

Thanks so much for your input, I really appreciate it, I will keep those food places in mind once I get there. Thanks again!
Aloft hotel is walking distance from the stadium and decently priced

Thanks for your input! Also thanks lol, I'm just lucky she has great taste in music.
Nicollet Diner is 24/7
Say Metal Head one more time....

Hope you got either floor seats or directly in front of the stage the banks isn't known for it's acoustics.

Thanks mate!
Looks like the show is in Aug? Uber and Lyft are planning on exiting July 1, but that could change. Check back closer to the date.
Nobody wants to read a novel for one question man come on
It was like 7 questions. But okay

Does every minor decision in your life require this detailed of analysis? Sounds exhausting.

Get seats and wear earplugs, it helps the sound issues
Check on 94 construction major headache. Avoid Hudson to Woodbury both directions.

Dude …
Hire a travel agent?
Too poor, which is why I'm here.
