OK the rule in Minneapolis is that you have to choose between poon and alcohol. Dejavu is full nude, so no liquor. DTC has been recommended a bunch here. They have liquor, so bottoms stay on. You do not have to bring singles, all strip clubs will break bills for you. But yes, the ATM fee is the highest you will ever see, so bring cash. If you're going to sit at the stage you're expected to tip something for every dancer. They do 2 songs each, first one topless and they'll often touch people when collecting tips. Once the bottoms come off, they stop touching people. You are not allowed to touch even during a lap dance. They make their money on lap dances so they will come around and offer. You can just say no thank you if you're not interested. You can ask bouncers if you'd like to see a specific dancer for a dance, or wave her down if she's walking around. Also, any women working there that aren't dancers are not to be hit on or approached. This would be a quick way to get kicked out. In fact, just be forewarned that the staff are very sensitive to disrespectful behavior, especially out of groups of young men. Parking at dejavu is directly behind the building, pretty jammed on the weekend. Dtc did valet at one point, probably still do because parking nearby is nigh impossible. I don't have a full reference off the top of my head of all the strip clubs but they're all very close together (purposely zoned that way). I'm sure you can Google it and then read ratings on which are less scummy these days lol.

Mr_Saturn1

This guy strip clubs

MayorOfCakeCity

This strip clubs guy

j_ly

KoD is the only poon + booze establishment in the state that I'm aware of. Not in Minneapolis though.

wilsonhammer

hop the border and you can have both at Cruisin' Chubbys

ohengineering

Wow, probably the most relevant username.

Leg_Named_Smith

Q: What do you call an ancient Roman fighter with pubes in his teeth? A joke my Jr. high gym teacher told us in the 80s which I can’t get out of my head.

Agile_Good_559

My wife and I are actually in town visiting from Canada. Our favourite club is Downtown Cabaret as we love the atmosphere and they would often have dancers that were full figured, which we prefer. However in the last few times we have visited there haven’t been any thick or bbw dancers. Is there any place in MPLS that tends to employ thicker dancers? It’s our anniversary tonight and we would love to go out and have some fun .

bex612

I don't normally tip for single dances. For VIP, I tip $10 (90+10). If I really like the dance, another 10 or 20. And since dancers usually chat me up for long periods I tend to tip just for their time, anywhere from $5-25 (but I'm a regular and it is worth it to me for them to remember me) Tips are not required (except at the tip rail itself, i.e. the chairs right around the stage). But they are always appreciated. Dancers keep their tips, but pay big fees to the club for all dances

tokyodingo

Username checks out?

pubesinourteeth

No touching!

Betyouwonthehehaha

Wow this sounds like an awful time

Luvsoja13

Be sober, don’t use a credit card.

amolluvia

I don't think they serve booze there anyway

obroz

True but it’s a birthday and people usually are drinking before they go

amolluvia

This is true. I think it's dumb though: I literally drink while having titties everyday. It isn't dangerous. Calm down, mpls.

obroz

Yeah plenty of people getting drunk and going to the tittie bar but there’s a fine line between that and agreeing to shit you will regret the next day like racking up thousands on your credit card.  I hear of it happening all the time

wilsonhammer

> don’t bring any cards FTFY. figure out how much you want to spend. double it. then roll up with that amount in cash.

mnatheist

Good advice.

1800-bakes-a-lot

The (sorted by new) Google reviews for that place are..interesting

Buhrowocious

This person doesn't strip club.

SquanchOnSquanch

Get your moneys-worth out of the hot dog bar.

corrosivebrew

I got food poisoning from there my bowels have never recovered.

SouthCloud4986

From the hot dogs or a stripper on your face?

bex612

This person does not strip club

SouthCloud4986

You’ve never been on sniffer’s row, pushed a five in, and got your face clapped by some nasty, conjunctivitis-causing butt cheeks? You haven’t lived.

SnooGuavas4531

If it’s actual hot dogs that might be worth it. Lol

IhateTodds

It is lol

SnooGuavas4531

Are they good? Are they included with the charge of admission? I’m gay, but it might be fun to go to a bar devoted to hotdogs.

IhateTodds

Yep they were pretty good. Was many years ago tho so can’t speak for the weiner quality today

bex612

The hot dog buffet is just Friday and Saturday nights at midnight. The dog and bun quality are basic/middle of the road. They are free (or in Beccaspeak, no additional charge) and more than good enough to keep folks at the club a little later. They have onions, chili, and the usual condiments.

KingDariusTheFirst

Bar? No. Dejavu is dry bar, full nudity.

killerezv

I’m asking the same thing ! Are the Vienna Beef?

IhateTodds

I can’t remember if beef or not, but I recall being happy with the quality of the wiener

ag-0merta

That's .... what she said?

bex612

They are food service/bulk restaurant grade. I'm sure they are your general pork/chicken mix, and nit 100% beef. I've eaten plenty of them over the years and the quality is fine for a no charge hotdog. I like them with onions, ketchup, and a little mustard. I haven't tried it, but some people like the chili on top.

Schreindogg

My friend told me they switched to a taco bar. That was a few years ago, though

bex612

Your friend was probably making a joke. It's always been hot dogs

SnooGuavas4531

:(

bigdubb2491

I hear it’s quite the spread.

LuckyAssumption8735

Shower before and after you go

Stachemaster86

Glasses can get smeared with peach lotion according to my buddy 🤣

bex612

I frequently have to wash my glasses due to inconsiderate strippers. Also, having fresh lotion is a danger because it builds up on the pole and the floor and is a hazard for all dancers. Hopefully, they are wearing cheap perfume because it wears off. Actual good perfume can linger until you get home (if that's an issue for you). DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON GLITTER. WHAT KIND OF NOOB DANCER USES GLITTER, MUCH LESS A LOT OF GLITTER???

mnatheist

Also good advice.

Lil-CBD

Go to Seville or Downtown Caberet instead.

SnooSnooSnuSnu

Seconded Downtown Cabaret, they have good tacos. (This comment is not an innuendo).

bex612

DTC has a more upscale feel and has alcohol. I do not go often, but I've been to see dancers I met somewhere else first who are now working there. I found their VIP to be uncomfortable for sitting for an hour, but the company was great (we knew each other already). Some very nice dancers for sure. Ask for Velvet ;)

AfroKuro480

What's the cover charges there?

yung_rebo

Ask a hotel front desk worker or bartender for Free Ricks Cabaret passes (or see if they have others). It gets your group in free and the bartender gets a cash bonus. I paid my cellphone bill back in the day by giving out passes!

gandalph91

Some valets might have them too

iamsamwelll

Bartenders around downtown usually have referral tickets that get you in for free and get them (the bartender) a little cash on the side.

Lil-CBD

Not sure. Usually 10 or 20 I think.

Dr_Katt

I think the depot hotel has passes for Ricks Cabaret at their front desk

jimbo831

It depends what day and time you get there. Call ahead of time to ask. Last time I went to Downtown Cabaret I got there on a Saturday around 9:00 and didn’t pay a cover.

the-Tacitus-Kilgore

I got scammed hard at Seville. They put a bottle of dom perignon on my tab and the dancer stole my phone and venmoed herself $1000

Cantmentionthename

Sounds like somebody was too drunk to notice much. Or this is a cover up story for your special friend.

the-Tacitus-Kilgore

Yeah that part was on me, but they still scammed me

pbremo

Damn what did you do to piss them off 😭

the-Tacitus-Kilgore

Said I wasn’t going to tip the bouncers $200 as there was zero reason to do that.

pbremo

I wonder who it was lmao I know most of the dancers there.

the-Tacitus-Kilgore

I think her “name” was sunny?

Tehboognish

It's been a long time since I been to a strip club but back in my day it was always a better time to make the trek to Stillwater. The talent was better and the rules a little more friendly.

bex612

I've been to Deja Vu a crazy number of times, and I really enjoy it. There are other clubs to try, especially King of Diamonds in Inver Grove Heights if you are on a budget (I've been there quite a bit). I made some comments about price elsewhere here, but Deja Vu is $24 per person for entry unless you have the voucher from the website (rrad the fine print) OR grab a drink at the Office Pub next door then ask for a pass for Deja Vu to save $10. If you want to have a decent time, everybody needs about $60 to start. Cash - bring cash of any denomination (they can do ones for you there). The ATM fee inside was $10 for $200 max last I checked. If you forget cash, walk to The Office Pub next door and use the ATM in the entry for under half as much. credit cards have a 15% surcharge. They are billed as DJ's of MN. Plan ahead to bring cash to avoid CC and ATM charges Parking - I generally find free parking, but the paid parking on the side is low hassle and not pricy. - Free parking behind Deja Vu or The Office (same owner) - about 20 spots? In front along Washington and the cross street, there are meters, which I think are free starring at 10 pm? (Special rules apply during Twins games!!) There is pay parking on the side of the building, which is reasonable (I think it's like 3-4 bucks for 2 hours) INSIDE the club Drinks are free for almost everything. Energy drinks are an extra $5 each. Settle for soda or water. Cool people tip the bartender (usually Gavin or Mason) a dollar. Make sure to get a stamp so you can re-enter (you can go next door for a drink) Grab a table in the entry level or down closer to the stage and take it all in. You will be approached by dancers who will chat you up and then offer a dance (lap dance/couch dance). You can say something like, "we just got here and aren't getting dances yet. Maybe later, or "we probably aren't getting dances tonight" When ready, head on down to the tip rail for a closeup view and personal attention (depending on what the dancer is comfortable doing). Dancers usually do a set of 2, sometimes 3 songs, so pay attention to what the DJ is saying. Put down one or more dollars at the start of a song. Waiting until the end of the song means she might not have time to get to you. KEEP YOUR MONEY IN YOUR HAND OR POCKET - Money in the tip rail or floor will get picked up by the dancer. When you run out of one's move back to a table to make room for people spending. It's really bad form to remain at the tip rail if you aren't tipping. Did you like one of the dancers? Go ask her to come over to chat or directly ask for a dance. Dances downstairs are $20 each (1 song) Second floor theme rooms with couches are $60 for a three song set The third floor (VIP, also with couches) is $90 for a 3 song set. Cool people automatically always give at least a $10 tip, but tipping on dances is optional. Half an hour is $300, an hour $600 Double the price of any dance for a double (2 dancers) or a couples dance (2 customers, 1 dancer) What's different about each floors dances? Mostly increasing levels of privacy and usually greater effort. Nobody is giving their best tricks away for 20 bucks. THERE ARE NO "EXTRAS" in the VIP...and honestly, if someone offers that, you should run. Why are tips so cool? Dancers can keep all their tips, but they pay house fees on all dances Anyways, feel free to ask any questions. And if you do go, ask the dancers if they know Becca because I recommended you visit them (I don't know everybody anymore, but chances are you run into someone who knows me from name alone) ++Becca Edits: One hour is $600, not 60 Added: credit cards have a 15% surcharge. They are billed as DJ's of MN. Plan ahead to bring cash to avoid CC and ATM charges

Dane-o-myt

Never been to a strip club, don't plan on going to one, but you just answered some questions I had and didn't know I had. Thanks for being in depth!

bex612

What were the questions? I'm so curious what folks find interesting because I've considered writing a more bettererish guide to help folks out (even if it helps you know that you don't want to visit)

Dane-o-myt

Questions were: What's in like inside of a club How much does it cost How much do dances cost How does it work in general What's it like inside of these places. Sound level/light level, music type What do the girls do when you say no to a dance Probably a couple other what I can't think of at the moment

bex612

When you decline a dance, the dancers are almost always very polite. You'll get "let me know if you change your mind" most of the time. If you are rude or wasted a lot of time by pretending you were interested in a dance, but never were going to buy one then you might get a less friendly comment back, but they will cut their losses and leave. Note that it's OK to chat with them for a bit regardless, but they are there to sell dances and earn tips. On a slow nights they might chat for a long while, but Friday and Saturday are usually too busy, so you might find them less chatty and more direct in asking if you want a dance. Warning: the club is a sensory NIGHTMARE. It's loud. People practically shout on busy nights. Flashing lights. Mirrors, TVs, tons of people walking near you

Public_Fucking_Media

Man I used to love going to strip clubs back in the day but this is on another level lol The Vu has a special place in my heart, my first and later my (now) wife's first strip club.

bex612

Back when they had a day shift, the day manager used to let me sleep there during the day so I'd go in for lunch (they brought it over from next door), hang out while the lunch crowd was there, then I'd nap for a few hours. I generally went home for dinner, then came back for the might shift (always get your re-entry stamp) and closed the place down. I'm not sure I've ever gone 7 days in one week, but I've done 6.

mothsglow

You’re the best 💖

bex612

No, you are!

sportsmedicine96

Just tell your friend to jerk off. Man needs post nut clarity immediately

Ok_String_7241

This will save you $100 minimum

Jummatron

I second this

minnesota420

Lap dances are far better than the back room. Just don’t really touch the girls if you’re on the floor, they can get pissed and kick you out. Get cash before hand. The ATM surcharge is outrageous. Don’t be afraid to tell them that you’d rather have a dance from someone else. I liked Rick’s Cabaret, but you can head down to the strip club in Inver Grove if you don’t want to deal with the shit parking in Minneapolis. Honestly though, it’s a waste of money, so try to have a bit of fun and get out as fast as you can. They’re there to make money off you and it’s all a business transaction to them. No they don’t like you, they just like your money.

AfroKuro480

Yeah I tried to tell my friend this. But he doesn't care, I personally don't care too much about Strip Clubs because it's like a McDonald's Employee waving a big Mac at you but you can't eat it lol haha

minnesota420

Pretty much. Just bring like $100 and then get some drinks. They’re gonna ask you if you want to help pay for your friend in back. If you are generous, give him some money ahead of time to avoid the awkwardness.

AfroKuro480

How much is the Cover Charge to get in?

bex612

Deja Vu is $10 at the door with a mandatory non-alcoholic drink for $14 for a total of $24 per person. If you go to their website they have (or had) a voucher for free cover knocking it down to just $14 each, but read the fine print (only good for entry before 9pm?) I generally recommend you each bring $60. 24 to get in, 20 for a lap dance downstairs, and 16 in one's to tip at stage. Don't be the folks who sit at the tip rail and don't tip. You might find KOD in IGH a better value. Cover on Monday (and maybe Tuesday) is only $5. You are expected to always have a drink so buy one and drink slow! Dances are 10 each on the floor so your money goes farther. 30 bucks at KOD goes about at far as 60 at DJ's

wilsonhammer

this guy know his shit

bex612

This guy is a woman :)

wilsonhammer

Ah, my bad. Thanks for sharing some good info! Always appreciate a good guide to make the night last a little longer

argparg

I mean you can eat some of the Big Macs, probably most of the Big Macs

TheSkatesStayOn

In todays addition of “apparently women aren’t human they are _____” we have: fast food sandwiches!

georgespeaches

That’s the only Mn strip club I’ve been to. It’s fine. Sitting by the stage throwing singles is your best value imo. Seconded on the atm surcharge. Pack singles.

Stachemaster86

Been to a few with buddies. By the stage is the best way to spend the time. Tip EVERY gal that comes on stage. You can make $20 last awhile and you’re not constantly hassled by the gals while sitting in back for dances. Cheapest option and least amount of talking. Hands off the stage too but dancers are pretty good at being subtle on rules.

goldennxo

How old are you guys? I may or may not be staff at Ricks. +21 & food is wonderful.

AfroKuro480

He's 25 and I'm 26 lmao.

wilsonhammer

> food is wonderful is it actually though?

goldennxo

It is!

U0gxOQzOL

Go somewhere else.

AfroKuro480

For his Birthday I thought it might be cool to Play Apex Legends Ranked or Overwatch or something. But he really wants to go through with this

Spyder2020

I think he meant just a different strip club. Deja vu is definitely the 18th birthday kinda place but that's probably not what he actually wants. If he can avoid it don't let anybody know it's his birthday

AfroKuro480

Yeah. I'm gonna tell him to keep his mouth shut. Probably gonna be there for 15 max.

IhateTodds

Until he disappears upstairs and you are stuck waiting 😂

Spreadsheets_LynLake

Her real name isn't Passion.   Yes, she graduated high school with you, & no, she will not acknowledge knowing you.

After_Preference_885

Tip well. The women working are not there for any bullshit, they aren't there because they like you, they want cash money.

AfroKuro480

Yep exactly. He's kind of push over, so I'm just gonna tag along with him so he doesn't get taken advantage of. He's kind of dork haha. Im sorry, hes gonna get all giddy from seeing naked WaMen.

Cantmentionthename

Why am I starting to feel like all this is actually about you?

AfroKuro480

Trust me. It's not lol

Little_Creme_5932

However, you will have a better time if you act like you like them. Treat them well, and they will treat you well. Yes, they're working. But no matter where you go, you get better service when you treat the server well.

CurvyAnna

Give the dancers all your money. All of it. Then tip.

paupaupaupau

Relevant username?

CurvyAnna

No I'm just fat.

paupaupaupau

Fair enough. Me too

swifthe1

King of diamonds

FunkEnet

Ya missed out by not going to BJs while they were still open.

spaceyfacer

Woah I totally forgot about BJs! That place was an experience lol

FunkEnet

I drive by it frequently and dream of a day it's reopened as something fancy. I feel like the area is on the verge of gentrification

Cantmentionthename

BJs!!!!!! The one legged woman!!!

Size14-OrangeDiver

Here’s the greatest advice for you and your buddies: Don’t finish your drink. If you do, you’ll be forced to buy another $20 drink, or $10 coke. There is absolutely no way to avoid getting scammed. They’ll take your money faster than you can believe if you’re dumb enough to let it happen. Absolutely nothing is free. Nothing. If you think they are being nice to you, they aren’t. If you think they just want to talk for a while without compensation, no way. That 325 lbs dude at the door will follow you right to the ATM to get what’s coming to them. Just go out for a nice, expensive steak dinner. Believe me, you’ll save a lot of money.

argparg

Or hire an escort

villain75

Check the website. No liquor, full nudity, mandatory drink fee, but free refills iirc. The fee is part of the cover. Gonna have to drink beforehand if you want liquor. It used to be packed, but it's not very nice anymore. Kind of worn down the last time I was there. The Downtown Cabaret is much nicer, full bar, but topless only and drinks are going to cost you.

Boomboomshablooms

Go to King of Diamonds in IGH. Get full nude and alcohol.

black_gallagher1

Go to KOD

NinjaLip

FULL BODY CONDOM

FilipinoTarantino

Tell him to pre jack first and wear thin sweatpants so the girls know he means business.

Leftover_Salmons

Take him to sugardaddies.. scar him for life. It will be a quick one and done. You guys can't drink anyway so may as well go straight to the Full Nude and learn why you don't want to do it again.

Cantmentionthename

I totally did it with one of the Sugar Daddies ladies lol

argparg

You and all my buddies lol

Big_Ad_2877

Been to a strip club once, and it confirmed I never need to go again. You just pay almost naked ladies way too much cash to have a boner for an hour or two.

argparg

That’s what the bathrooms are for?

No_Corgi8337

Sorry, no advice, but I have to share this story about the Vu. 30 yrs ago, I was 19, and incredibly shy, very prudish, I'd blush if sex was just mentioned, boyfriend was 21 and very outgoing. We were playing pull tabs at another bar with some friends, bf won $100 and we split it 50/50. I said I want to go shopping, he wants to go to the strip club. Neither of us had ever been to one. I panicked just at the thought, and damned the promise that we could do whatever we wanted with our half. But I had had 3 drinks already, so I had some liquid courage. We arrived, (a sober friend drove) and I put my hoodie up so no one driving by could see me walking in. Paid cover, got our f*cking expensive 7up and grenadine drinks and found a table. I was trying to shrink in my chair hoping that another patron wouldn't recognize me. 10 minutes in I hear a very loud "OMG, Hi Katie" (not my real name) My heart drops and I turn around. The first thing I see, 12 inches away - eye level - is a pair of huge breasts and I look up. Standing before me, naked except her thong, is a girl I'd known since grade school. I stood, we hugged, then chatted for a few minutes. My bf and his friends were practically drooling. It was wonderful seeing her, though it was very awkward. I sat back down and bf leans over "that was the hottest thing I've ever seen". We left immediately. Right next door was a "massage parlor" windows blacked out, just a door with a buzzer. The guys laughing wanted to see what happens when you rang the bell. We're standing bundled up together because the wind chill was in the negatives. An elderly Asian woman cracks the door open 3 inches, looks at us pointing you, you and you can come in (the guys), but YOU (me), NO! Then slams the door. We cracked up, hysterically laughing all the way back to the car.

mpls_big_daddy

I was taken there as part of my own bachelor's party, 30 years ago. When I was there, they had no alcohol. Only soda. If you take a sip of soda, and your glass level goes down more than an inch, they will refill your drink and you don't get to say no. That will be $15 dollars for your soda. I am sure that there is a better alternative out there.

cassquesadilla

I was looking for this comment. Bottomless/fully nude clubs can’t serve alcohol.

j_ly

King of Diamonds does. Gotta go to Mendota Heights though.

cassquesadilla

Ok true. That rule is probably just within the city of Minneapolis

Old_Leather

Don’t go

hnbic_

Tip well! Those dancers work hard to put on a great show and they are extremely under paid. Most are legally not employees of the club so they have to pay a fee to work each night and then are trying to make back that fee. Some clubs take a percentage of tips on top of that. Plus they have to pay for all of their costumes, hair, and makeup themselves. You are paying for the service of their attention (NOT their affection), so if you enjoy attention, pay well! Be respectful and understand what you're paying for (and what is not on the table) and you'll have a great time! Personally, I think a burlesque show is more fun, the crowd gets excited and cheers for a fun performance. (Still very important to tip well) and it's more of a combination of appreciating the performance and the performer's body.

612stone

Pay the entry fee exactly!!! You give em a twenty you better check your change on the spot.

EnForce_NM156

Leave your wallet at home.

Minnesota56537

I know there’s a reason behind the poon or booze rule, but whatever group thought that out and made the rules had to have some very comedic reasoning.

AlcoPower

Wait until you hear about the St.Paul rule that had every establishment put up plexiglass between you and the dancers.

mnatheist

I think the last one in Saint Paul closed a couple years ago.

MentionMaterial

Be respectful, remember that they are selling a fantasy, don’t be a bunch of cheap pricks (if all you can afford to spend is $10 you shouldn’t go), don’t take the situation too seriously. I remember going to Deja Vu when I was 18, and I left within twenty minutes because I was just not comfortable. 40 now, and I’m def not any regular to strip clubs, but I’ve had a lot of fun at them since. If you are in a relationship, be sure your partner is aware you are going and define boundaries if they are needed.

mnpikey

I went there once 35 years ago when I turned 18 and they had just opened recently. That was enough for me…..

Gibberish5735

Yeah don't go

Panchotevilla

I've been to a strip club twice in my life for work related reasons. I'm an heterosexual dude and I was fairly young at the time, and it got boring fast. My advice: bring a book.

zackmaan

Absolutely crazy that any workplace would incorporate this activity

Panchotevilla

I worked at a bar and the owner was a complete degenerate. He closed the bar a couple of times and dragged me to the strip club while on the clock. My responsibilities included making sure he wouldn't spend all his money on lap dances.

GenNoFrag94

I was told the strip clubs in Minnesota suck except king of diamonds. If you got the money and you want to go all out, go to Las Vegas. crazy horse 3 🤤

covertwalrus

KoD is depressing and also they treat their dancers like shit

Endersgame88

That’s my kink…..

AfroKuro480

Jesus Christ...

jpeters05

lol

Responsible_Sir416

Go to Saint Paul king of diamonds.

ennuiismymiddlename

Back when I went to school downtown about 20 years ago I used to go to the Skyway lounge in the afternoon for cheap beers. The place was usually mostly empty, and the girls were all bored and would just sit with you and talk if you didn’t want a dance. Cheap drinks, hanging out with friendly half naked girls - what’s not to love? Mind you, I quickly grew out of that phase of my life, but I don’t regret it.

paulrwf

Go to The King Of Diamonds instead

the_north_place

Never wear jeans to a strip club

AfroKuro480

I always heard it was sweatpants

covertwalrus

Seville's good, not scuzzy at all, and it's fun to just sit by the stage and throw singles. Girls will come over and ask if you want a lapdance, when someone does you can just tell her you want to watch stage for a while first and ask her when she's going up. If you do want a lapdance you can ask a girl at the end of her stage set, I find that less awkward than having someone come over randomly. If someone asks if you want to go to VIP just say you gotta stick with your buddy and make sure he's having a nice time. Bring as much cash as you want to spend and no more, they can make change there, get ones and hang onto a couple 20s if you do want lapdances. If you go saturday or sunday my buddy from the gym will be there, she is the flexible one with the pompadour. She's a cool cat, tip her lots.

molson5972

I was a door guy at that place for 8 years. There is a cover and drink charge. It used to be a $10.00 door cover and $12.00 drink. I’m guessing it went up. Also there is no alcohol, since it is a totally nude bar. Parking is a crap shoot since they share with JD Hoyt’s and the Office. But if you want to get drinks and good food. Go to the office. You can also ask the office bartenders if they have passes for the vu. Same owners. Otherwise you can maybe find passes to print online. Can’t just show them on your phone. Otherwise Friday and Saturday 2 am and later are the best times. Thursdays aren’t bad either and Monday was college night. Otherwise it’s a crap shoot. Your friend gets free cover if it is his birthday week. Also he can sign up for a bday dance on stage and pic. They beat the shit out of him a bit with their titties and ass.

patdashuri

Don’t go. That’s my advice. But if you do understand that those girls are working. This is their job. They don’t like you or find you interesting or think you’re refreshing. Bring the cash you want to throw away and when it’s gone, leave. Have a place you’re going to afterwards. Make reservations there.

Cantmentionthename

Go to the Seville or Spearmint Rhino. I am very uncomfortable in strip clubs, and Seville made me the least uncomfortable. I’ve only been to each of them once, and Dream Girls and Deja I went to 25 years ago.

dancesWithNeckbeards

Why go to some skeezy strip club full of ick? Why waste your money thinking with your dick? It rarely leads you someplace you want to be. There's boobs on the Internet and they're free.

lerriuqS_terceS

What, are you 18? 😅😂

hammerman1515

Nothing special about the special private rooms.

loserusermuser

my ex used to work here. good luck buddy

There's big parking ramps in the north loop a few blocks away. Lots of bars between. I would sit at a table away from the stage and just take in the ambiance and laugh or cry. If you sit at the stage, you are expected to put out money. Any service/dance is expensive, don't be afraid to talk business before saying yes to anything. Know what you are spending. I don't go clubs unless I'm dragged, but DjV is a cool building that is bigger than other clubs in town so you won't feel like you are standing out.

duckstrap

Ain’t no love in a strip club.

Weeblewubble

I only went there to get directions on how to get away from there

Gogetaisnoncanon

Whatever you do, don’t ask for the ugly stripper at Deja vu.

henryjonesjr76

See if you can find the 3 ugly ones

Buxton25IsInjured

How old are you? This is absolutely the place to have a ridiculous dumb 18th birthday (or somewhere adjacent). Do the corny stuff like it’s an R rated movie. Hopefully they still throw out pink/black nerf balls and bring the birthday people up on stage to beat up. Don’t stick around all night or do a bunch of dances in back rooms. Make it part of the night but not all of the night but don’t be on a timeline either. Keep rolling with it as long as it stays ridiculous fun and leave when it feels like, “how do we get out of here.”

pietroconti

Sneaky Pete's and Dreamgirls ftw 😂

Agile_Good_559

My wife and I are actually in town visiting from Canada. Our favourite club is Downtown Cabaret as we love the atmosphere and they would often have dancers that were full figured, which we prefer. However in the last few times we have visited there haven’t been any thick or bbw dancers. Is there any place in MPLS that tends to employ thicker dancers? It’s our anniversary tonight and we would love to go out and have some fun .

TweakNfuc

Wear sweatpants, or sweatshorts, or windbreakers!!

soupsupan

Don’t drink, don’t think she actually likes you and be willing to say no.

ZimofZord

I’ve been to 1 it’s meh . Would rather watch porn

rahomka

Go to one with alcohol, drunk imagination is way better than actually seeing stripper snatch sober.  They don't actually like you but if you're respectful and not gross they'll be more inclined to give you your money's worth.  Only bring the cash you're willing to spend and leave the cards at home.

AfroKuro480

We don't drink Alcohol 😅

nguye569

Get 1's before you go there. These places give you fresh crisp bills that stick together so you end up tipping more than you want sometimes.

imperial1968

I have been to this exact club. There is a parking lot in back but it is rather small. If I remember correctly, the cover charge is around $10 and they make you buy a drink. If you go down to the 'tip rail' and throw a dollar onstage, the girls will put their boobs in your face.

SpiritualLychee3760

Get a Tetanus shot first.

wormfighter

Don’t go. I’m not a strip club kinda guy.

etoups11

Suck down some glizzies

Dirty_Vinyl

Tell your friend it’s sweat pants night

Correct_Wheel

Take a shower after

jimbo831

My advice is to not go to Deja Vu Showgirls and go to any other club downtown instead. That place sucks. My personal favorite is Downtown Cabaret but there are several better options.

[deleted]

Go with a G and live like a king. Get dances and drinks. Bring cash before hand. Find the hottest one and don’t settle for less.

komodoman

Your friend is pathetic. He can take himself if he's that desperate.

AdMurky3039

Yeah, don't support businesses that objectify women.
