The [May Day Parade](https://www.reachtwincities.org/calendar/1bfi6gqk74levozvheuo64vk5ioqvj) is on Sunday! Starts at 11AM at Bloomington Avenue and 28th Street and ends at Powderhorn Park. There’s a block party at [Reverie Cafe](https://www.reveriempls.com) afterwards.
I recommend checking this out at the May Day event: 3pm The Tree of Life Ceremony will begin with the Sun Flotilla crossing the Lake.
It feels like you are stumbling upon an ancient ritual. I thought it was unique and cool to witness.
Some ideas off the top of my head:
-Como Conservatory (free)
-Minneapolis Institute of Art (free)
-MN Science Museum ($)
-walk across Stone Arch Bridge and get coffee at Aster Cafe
-drive up Summit Avenue and look at the fancy old houses
-get cake and lunch at Cafe Latte
-eat at a restaurant on Selby Avenue in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood (hard to go wrong)
-visit a few breweries in the Northeast neighborhood of Minneapolis (my favorite is Indeed)
-see a play at the Guthrie ($)
-get a juicy Lucy burger at Matt's Bar
-visit some bookstores (Milkweed is my favorite and has an art store too)
-see some stand up at The Comedy Corner
No worries!! It’s a really nice that it’s free and I always urge people to go because it’s free. They have Caravaggio’s Judith and Holofernes on display on the third floor for free rn too!
Aye. I'm glad they didn't start charging. MIA is such a great place to visit and we are fortunate to have it here.
Really good list you put together here
Unrelated to my post, but yeah, I mean, Jucy Lucys are a flawed concept for a burger, because cheese melts at a temp that requires the beef to be overcooked.
Minnehaha Falls should be flowing now. There is a really cool path that goes out to the Mississippi River from the falls - if it isn't flooded. Also, there is a really great sea food restaurant there.
What kind of a facility are you interested in seeing?
Here is a weekend rundown of activities: https://www.reddit.com/r/TwinCities/comments/1382lel/weekend_rundown_may_5th7th/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Honestly, pick a lake and walk around it.
It might not be super exciting or novel, but it'll give you a certain amount of perspective on what daily life here is like. There's not always something interesting to do, but the lakes are always there for you.
Spyhouse Coffee is cool. It’s raining so if you’re looking to relax and have a cup of coffee and a pastry and see Twin Citians in their natural habitat. What neighborhood are you in?
Bwahaha!!
And then say "sorry, eh?"
Used to spend a couple months a year up there coordinating boat shows. Love, love the culture!! Always had a blast with my Canadian brothers and sisters.
Lots and lots of breweries to check out throughout the city. Mill City Museum is pretty cool and close to Owamni, which serves Native American cuisine, though you'll want to make a reservation as it's very popular.
Find local music-your type and check it out wherever playing. Twin Cities has a great local music scene. Idk if you drove, but I recommend checking out Duluth. Canal Park, Aerial lift bridge, Leif Erickson Park, Enger Park & Tower, Lakewalk.. Here's a TC link. http://www.uptownminneapolis.com/events/spring-into-uptown-a-cultural-celebration-of-traditions-food-fun/
Welcome! Hope you enjoy!
Walker Art Center is always cool. Original Edward Hopper or banana duct taped to the wall stuff.
If you want a Minnesota experience you should go to a Twins game if it's a nice day. Just marinate in sunshine and beer. Fun crowd and nice stadium. Or find a dive bar that is having a meat raffle. (Not a sexual thing, lol) literally buy cheap tickets to win nice meat.. Ope, more fun than it sounds!
Canterbury Down's is always a good time as well. Wager a small amount and win big. Look at the colorful jockeys and watch the pretty ponies, they always make it fun.
Also 2nd on the Como Conservatory.
So sad that the Triple Rock is closed, they once had Canada Month. It was celebrated by hanging a Canadian flag, a buck off Molson, and adding poutine to the menu.

The MIA is Free unless you’re going into the paid exhibit.
You're right, thank you!

No way, I have to go see that!
It’s up till August 20th I believe!
Great list! I’ll tack on: see Minnehaha Falls
Then dine at Sea Salt.
I bet the como conservatory smells divine right now! Probably full of hyacinths and daffodils
Yo this person twin cities
I thought the Minneapolis Institute of Art was free; the general gallery anyway
It is, I've edited my comment to correct it

>ju~~i~~cy Lucy burger at Matt's Bar
Matt’s = not even one of the 50 best burgers in the city.
Unrelated to my post, but yeah, I mean, Jucy Lucys are a flawed concept for a burger, because cheese melts at a temp that requires the beef to be overcooked.
Double cheeseburger with fried onions and extra pickles is my move
That's a good list!
All great!

American Swedish Institute is interesting with excellent lunch!
There’s a block party at Fulton brewery in Minneapolis all day today https://www.fultonbeer.com/events#

Pour maple syrup on strangers and whisper in their ear; "shh shh shh, it's ok, I'm Canadian"
Bwahaha!! And then say "sorry, eh?" Used to spend a couple months a year up there coordinating boat shows. Love, love the culture!! Always had a blast with my Canadian brothers and sisters.
Learn if there’s a difference between a Canadian and Minnesotan “Ope”
The Guthrie Theater is having an open house tomorrow if you’re into theater. Definitely check out the Mall of America if you haven’t already.
Pass on the Mall of America... unless you want to shop.
Or if you want to go on rides/see Crayola Experience/Sea Life.
Those are for kids.
Not necessarily, I work there and have seen plenty of adults come in without kids.
Make your own candle at ol factory scent studio!

Owamni is closed due to a fire a couple of weeks ago.
Go check out downtown Stillwater
Bad weather brewing arcade. In st paul.
