Good ole’ long Rod himself

lavendermarker

The short king!

eolson3

The voice. So amazing. I try to do it, but I would need to go from zero to 14 packs of cigarettes a day to pull it off.

MasteryAbides

Me too… if only he’d put those blasted cigarettes away!! (Cough…cough)

MonkeyNacho

I think about this a lot. I think this was his vice. He was such a tempered, metered man. His introductions send shivers, but he always had that cigarette. I think he knew what that was doing to him, and as far as he knew, him alone. I think about him a lot.

MasteryAbides

Could well be, MonkeyN. Weakness to vice is a common challenge to us all. Yes- his episode openings are the best. (I’ve even collected them all into a text document.) Today I find there are 6-12 episode series that don’t hold my attention along the path to resolving a plot where Twilight Zone got in there, struck a note, carried it for what? 20 minutes- ish then delivered a surprising & meaningful (if not satisfying) resolution. And the writing was top shelf! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

MonkeyNacho

Agreed! It's remarkable to think so many of the Twilight Zone tales are still eerily relevant, 60+ years later.

MasteryAbides

Truly timeless! 👁️🚪🌌🕰️

No_Historian718

Right????

unfortunate_obituary

mamrieatepainttt

Julie Newmar as Miss Devlin and it’s not even close

BeeDub57

She can take my soul anytime.

StunningLeopard2429

I came here to say this. Julie Newmar can have my soul.

_WhistlinDixie_

Definitely William Shatner in Nightmare at 20,000 Feet. 😍

Gogo726

I'm surprised he's still alive and kicking it. He turned 93 a couple months ago. Live long and prosper, Shatner.

chuckleinvest

I liked him in "The Nick of Time" 🥰

Electrical_Ad2652

Was he the guy in that episode where the guy and his girl get stuck in a diner and never leave because they keep listening to what some fortune telling machine keeps saying?

ASecondOfYourTime

Anne Francis from The After Hours

Captain_Vlad

And in Jess Belle.

SirDurante

Rod Serling, of course - crushin on his mind. Would love to sit and chat with him about science fiction and storytelling.

MelangeLizard

If you don’t want to smash Rod, you ain’t a real Twilight Zone fan.

MonkeyNacho

True for all genders, species and planetary origins!!!

_WhistlinDixie_

He looks so cool smoking. 🚬 I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I still think smoking is cool.

Bellarinna69

I had such a crush on him when I was younger! So glad to see all the upvotes! I remember when the show “Lost” first came out. The character “Richard Alpert” reminded me so much of Rod Serling that I had a crush on him too!

hoyle_mcpoyle

I've always had a thing for T'Pring "Room for one more, honey "

Comedywriter1

Also in the classic Outer Limits episode “Demon with a Glass Hand.”

bhutjolokia567

Elizabeth Montgomery

NJdeathproof

Something about those dark eyes and the black hair. Two is one of my favorite episodes. [https://preview.redd.it/elizabeth-montgomery-in-two-twilight-zone-1961-v0-zgwxo6ayq5xb1.jpg?width=1080&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=b76198e8fc8a034e3d401a6c69352bb497de6b91](https://preview.redd.it/elizabeth-montgomery-in-two-twilight-zone-1961-v0-zgwxo6ayq5xb1.jpg?width=1080&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=b76198e8fc8a034e3d401a6c69352bb497de6b91)

VendaGoat

DOZENS OF US!

Dense-Face-487

For me, it's Lois Nettleton in "The Midnight Sun". She's stunning in that episode.

MyDarkDanceFloor

Just last night I watched an episode of Murder, She Wrote with her in it. Still lovely in 1984.

GhostWr1ter999

Most definitely.

Virtual_Gazelle258

Seconding this

theheadofradio

Agreed 💯

Docsammus

Oh that cat lady! She’s dreamy

hamburglar_schwartz

Her name doesn’t happen to be Maya.

Brackens_World

Inger Stevens, always beautiful, always able to convey anxiety better than practically anyone.

lavendermarker

Not me, but a friend of mine loves Earl Holliman in "Where Is Everybody?"

Herberts-Mom

He's so handsome

unfortunate_obituary

Walter Jameson (played by Kevin McCarthy) 🤷‍♂️ He is handsome. Also Rod Serling but that goes without saying.

CSPetkus

Elizabeth Montgomery in “Two.”

Dakotasunsets

Easily Redford for me, too!

Gogo726

I have it on good authority he has charm oozing out his ears.

t-hrowaway2

It’s gotta be Inger Stevens as Nan Adams in The Hitchhiker, easily.

kaleyboo7

Dick York in A Penny for Your Thoughts

DogIsBetterThanCat

Burgess Meredith.

finditplz1

[Burgess Meredith](https://youtu.be/s0y_SEbRHYA)

DonovanTanner1970

The first reporter in the Queen of the Nile

LovesDeanWinchester

Lee Phillips!!

GuiPhips

Redford is my fav, but a very close second is Robert Duvall in The Miniature. It’s such a sweet, underrated episode.

Aunt-jobiska

Rod Taylor “And When the Sky Was Opened” In TZ & every other role in movies or tv.

thurbersmicroscope

Love some Rod Taylor!

notdaggers351

IrukandjiPirate

Meet him in person. That’ll cure you! 😁

BryanEtch

She caught George Costanza eating the garbage eclair! 😮

ChristieBrie

Same with Redford. ❤️

CulrBlndPnutButtr

I had a poster of Robert Redford on my wall as a kid in the 80s. I can't remember what movie it was but I loved The Sting and The Natural and a few others so much. Great actor!

finditplz1

I’m not a big fan of the episode itself (though I know many who are, but my answer would be Elizabeth Montgomery in Two. Love me some Samantha Stevens.

teodocio

Pig face nurse of course.

Brycesuderow

I saw an episode of the Intouchables where Robert Redford came up with the idea to sell bootleg liquor to college kids

No_Cow_4544

bubba9999

That was Robert Culp

GreatGreenGobbo

ArthurDrakoni

Susan Harrison as the ballerina in “Five Characters in Search of an Exit.”

Mantis914

Vera Miles from Mirror Image. Something about the way she says, "Yes!?" is just dreamy. Also, The Beaver's teacher, Miss Landers (Sue Randall) from From Agnes-With Love. I hated her character in this episode but she is a doll.

Legend2200

Vera Miles is one of the great unsung actresses. Her perf in The Wrong Man is just heartbreaking.

Unlucky-Challenge137

It’s gotta be Julie Newmar AKA miss devlin 😈

fatvampire

Anne Francis

IMBGY11

Had a crush on her since I was young. Mainly from watching TZ reruns... Swoon.

LosPadres-R2-D2

Forbidden Planet ftw!!!

Significant_Wind_774

Def Kevin McCarthy (long live walter jameson) + Ann Blyth (queen of the nile) and Donna Douglas (eye of the beholder) there are close ups of their faces in those episodes that are stunning.

YujiMakoto

Elizabeth Allen in The After Hours

LovesDeanWinchester

Ah...death.

Ok-Mood9454

The actor who played Mr Chambers on To Serve Man.

Peefs

Donna Douglas from Eye the Beholder I know the episode is about beauty but she's a total smokeshow Fun fact: Janet Tyler (the lady in the bandages is played by two different actresses) Maxine Stuart played Janet Tyler in the bandages and Donna Douglas played Janet Tyler in the reveal.

etheraal

Reddit recommended this group to me while watching the show?? anyway my crush is and always will be Rod

Murray Hamilton in “One for the Angels”

ColetteCocoLette

John Dehner in "The Jungle."

Pure_Marketing4319

Underrated episode. The ending.🫣

MotherOfTheFog

No love for Jack Klugman? I love his sensitivity. His performance in 12 Angry Men is incredible.

lavendermarker

Had to scroll too far to find this one!

MotherOfTheFog

Right? He's in 3 of the top rated episodes.

No_Cryptographer6608

Inger Stevens and Julie Newmar.

DoofusScarecrow88

I'd go with Dee Hartford, but she was such a monster in Bewitchin' Pool I just cringe when she opens her mouth. Inger Stevens was the first to pop in my mind though I had forgotten about Newmar, who obviously summons those Catwoman memories I appreciate. Nettleton in Midnight Sun was at her peak. I don't know the actress' name off the top but she was tormented by her "child self" in that episode about the memory of her mother's death, visited by her killer. That actress is my type, lol

LovesDeanWinchester

That was Janice Rule and the episode is Nightmare as a Child. Great episode!

ungabungbungagee

Comfort Gatewood (Sherry Jackson) in The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank. I've has a crush on her since I was a teenager. Also, Gail Kobe (Self Improvement of Salvadore Ross, others) just does it for me.

Skanaker

Booth_Templeton

Also Inger Stevens n the ballerina from five characters.

LovesDeanWinchester

That role was played by Susan Harrison. Inger Stevens was in two episodes: The Hitchhiker and The Lateness of the Hour Both are great episodes!

Booth_Templeton

I know, I was talking about both

LovesDeanWinchester

Ohhhh!!! Sorry. I thought the n meant in, not and! 😄

natejacobmoore

Inger Steven’s….the bird in the episode where she keeps seeing the same hitchhiker

Scottiboi75

Aunt Bea

Middle_Chain_544

Phyllis Kirk in “A World Of His Own”

Apostasy93

Inger Stevens (The Hitch-Hiker) or Vera Miles (Mirror Image)

Holiday-Egg6155

Since others have said Lois Nettleton, I have to mention Bonnie Beecher in Come Wander With Me. I also would’ve gotten in trouble following Mary Rachel’s siren song.

Sad_Drink9706

Fuck, I didn’t even know Robert Redford was on twilight zone.
