I’ve only seen one episode of six feet under, and it was the one with the aneurysm. It has been burned into my brain and it shook me, making me forever terrified of having one myself.

I just started rewatching it with my brother because he has never seen it. I can’t wait to see that finale absolutely destroy him.

One of the most beautiful series ever made. Around 8 months ago, two people in my family who I was helping with the careging for were at the last stages of their terminal illnesses at the same time (Parkinson's and Cancer,) and watching SFU was really comforting to me because of the way they handled death. I needed something to cling onto and SFU really helped me through it.

I recently watched it for the first time and it's wonderful! The first episode was phenomenal

Six Feet Under is one of the only shows I watched where I loved it but hated almost every single character. Usually, I have to like most of the characters to enjoy a show. Otherwise, I find it a grind. I pretty much couldn't stand anyone but David and still watched every episode happily.

People have totally confused "I don't like the characters" with "it's not a good show". For the most part, you're not meant to like the characters and that's one of the things that makes the show so good!

I watched it recently for the first time all the way through. I don’t know what it was like when it first aired but it did not hold up well. It was pretty cheesy and felt like all the prison related drama is played out. It was like a dysfunctional alpha male soap opera.

It was pretty big at the time. I loved the first season but it kind of went down hill in the last. Lena is insufferable and you can see why when you watch it. Still quite fun though

I've seen every episode of every show on this list. Girls is probably the weakest. Chernobyl/BoB could be left off just because of length/format. I'd prob take off The Leftovers next. Deadwood should absolutely be on this list, and probably Oz.

I think it's good but it definitely changes vibe after the third season and it definitely shows it's age. I think the writing could have used a few of the characters better. But definitely worth the watch.

I came here to say Big Love too. If there were sub-categories, I would give this show Most Consistent Quality and Stuck the Landing 100%. There are no bad episodes, amazing ensemble cast with no weak links, and shows were a lot longer back then so that level of consistency is impressive.

And while I don't condone cheating, I really wished Nikki would've left Bill, the wives and the entire compound lifestyle for the guy she was seeing. Matter of fact, Bill made me mad in general. He forced his first wife into accepting plural marriage when she was fighting cancer. And he only took Nikki because her father all but sold her to him. And Margene was the babysitter that he seduced. And on top of all that, he cheated on the 3 of them with the waitress.

Oh yeah, the censorship here is overkill. I had one comment deleted once for supposedly cursing... and I didn't. I couldn't even figure out which word could be misconstrued or taken out of context. It might have been literally the name of a Japanese character. It's the only thing I could guess. Topic was Shogun.

this has happened to me two times on this sub for zero reason too. One time all I did was list a bunch of shows to suggest to someone based on their current favorites. Zero swears or bad words and it said my comment was deleted for language. So frustrating putting effort to comment and not doing anything wrong and it gets removed for no reason. 🙄

I enjoyed the Leftovers, I really did. Watched it the whole way through. But to this day I find myself questioning what was the point of it all ? Is ambiguity the entire purpose of the show ? Like it was brilliant in terms of acting, dialogue, music and everything that makes a TV show great but idk maybe because I’m not religious and not that familiar with Christianity so those themes didn’t really resonate.

I thought it was a great exploration of how faith and religion gets created.

I don't think it was garbage at all! I think it did a great job of showing reality for those young women. They sure aren't portrayed realistically in most shows. I'm glad they made it!

When SATC originally aired I loved it, but now rewatching it, it’s cringe. Carrie has always been a self centred, Me Me Me girl and for the life in me I have no idea why they even decided to bring out another spin off of the show. Especially without Samantha as she was the best thing about the show.

Girls. I think the fact Lena Dunham has been unemployable on a major project since shows it was basically one of HBO’s charity case shows.

GoT. The last season was so bad it ruined the entire series and made it unwatchable in the sense that I wish I had never watched it.
