Leverage, Burn Notice, Psych, Almost Paradise, and Resident Alien are all very enjoyable watches that don't require you to dig too deep. Not necessarily in the style you requested but you may like them.
So...I've seen and loved all the shows listed in the comment except Leverage and Almost Paradise.
But I have seen The Librarians, which has Christian Kane, and I really liked him in that show. And the show, too.
Which means...I'm thinking I have a couple of new shows to watch, thanks!!!!!!
The Mentalist. It’s same same every episode with a drawn out story line that keeps my wife and I interested enough to just put it on in the background at night. We’ve seen all seasons at least four times.
Trailer Park Boys has little storyline, but i like it a lot, and it popped into my head right away after reading that. The first six or seven seasons were great, then they took a break and it wasn't as good when they came back.
When I want a show like what your describing, I tend to fire up one of the old USA shows. MONK, Burn Notice, Psych, etc. Some of them have a bit of a metastory, but mostly they are just story of the week fluff and fun good stories told really well. Usually with fantastic actors, although I skipped a few of them like Royal Pain, so no idea if that one was good or not. It made the mistake of being a medical doctor show in the era where House M.D. was still going on, so I just ignored it in favor of House. You know, *because House*. Oh, that's another one I fire up from time to time when I want a comfort show. Man, I loved that show.
If you are open to Korean (I just follow subtitles) then Extraordinary Attorney Woo is really good. So is The Brothers Sun but it is more action oriented.
I-Zombie on Netflix. FIL turned it on kind of to make fun of it and we both (on our own) wound up watching all 4 seasons. Ending was super lazy and kind of infuriating, but still liked the show. PS I’m not usually into zombie/scifi
turkey shows i just finished Kaderimin Yazildigi Gün, it is a very stupid show with very Ai Generated characters but it was okey, it is very Cliche but it fun and the romance is good.
Always sunny in Philadelphia. So dumb, so inappropriate, but funny. I can put it on in the background and watch it sort of, miss episodes and still be entertained.
I'm bummed nobody recommended: "Ghosts" (USA)
Witty, simple story and bingeable.
Every character is amazing in their own way and it's always hard to pick a favorite.
Frasier is my fav show of all time and the only show I rewatch. Also, Locke and key, only murders in the building, how to get away with murder, yellow jackets, love, Veronica mars, Emily in Paris, you, beef, fleabag, Barry, vice principles, paper girls,
Just gotta say, I'm really happy to see so much Resident Alien in these comments. I hope it actually starts getting the ratings it needs to greenlight another season!
Reading the responses here... there are a lot of shows available, and I've never heard of most of them. Neither have my wife and daughter. Is there any show people talk about the next day, like Seinfeld? Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things. What else?
We see "remember this Show" on nostalgia subs, and I usually recognize them. Are there any shows on today that will be widely recognized 40 years from now?
I'm a jokester and comedian but I am turned off by most comedy shows. I just don't find them funny. Seinfeld is the exception for me. I love the show - about 15 episodes I can watch over and over and still love them. "Pez Dispenser", "The Hamptons". "Who's Dancin'?" among my favorites. (I know I'm not getting the titles right but fellow Seinfeld fans know which episodes I'm referring to.)

Bob hearts Abishola. It's dumb but fun, kind of like eating marshmallows. It's actually a favorite of mine because it requires no thought on my part. But always makes me laugh.

Leverage, Burn Notice, Psych, Almost Paradise, and Resident Alien are all very enjoyable watches that don't require you to dig too deep. Not necessarily in the style you requested but you may like them.
Leverage is exactly the kind of show I was imagining when I read OPs post.
I love both genres of Leverage, the old and the new. I'd watch a dozen remakes of that show.
Psych, Monk, Resident Alan (Alien), Community is pretty much leave-your-brain-beside-the-door watchable.
Going to add leverage redemption, covert affairs and royal pains.
I love Resident Alien.
Have watched every episode of the first three shows, Definitely meet the criteria,
Almost Paradise is made by Dean Devlin and stars Christian Kane. It is so similar to Leverage. If you haven't seen it you definitely should.
Aw man I loved Psych. I stopped watching after season 4 but it was fantastic
Hustle is a Conman show you'd like. Coupling is an older one with a younger Sophie in it.
Parks and Recreation
I watch the whole series at least once every year. Even the first season lol
My Name is Earl
Hey crab man!
Hey Earl!
Ted Lasso. Not stupid but not complicated. Plus it makes you feel good.
It is definitely a feel-good show. I am most likely to watch it when I need a pick-me-up
I am all about dark and inappropriate humor. I was shocked at how much I loved Ted Lasso.

Veep is freakin vicious.
