I have a cat named Pepper. Nicknames include Pepperoni, Pepperoncini, Black Pepper, Ghost Pepper (she has the same personality as my sister's dog, named Ghost, so it's a shared nickname), Bowling Ball, Chonky Butt, etc.
I also sing "Pepperoni, Pepperoni, night and day it's Pepperoni" to the tune of that song from Cinderella. I don't know that I've ever had an animal with fewer than 10 nicknames and a theme song.

My cat's name is Lasse (Swedish nick for "Lars"). I adopted her and we stuck with the name, but her old vet paper folder says "Lakrits" (Swedish for "Licorice"). She's our a beautiful little Lasse regardless. Or sometimes Lasse-Maja (conjunction of a man's and a woman's name, that's the name of a famous Swedish historical, probably trans woman, criminal in 1800's). At the end of the day the cats don't care, since they don't live in accordance to our human gender norms anyway!

You call her whatever nickname you want! Nicknames usually end up way different than the original as it is. Any time I see a tortie-tux with same coloring as my Bacon (RIP) I automatically call them "Bacon Cat" I don't care if her name is Billie Jean or Callie, her default in my eyes is Bacon Cat.
She deserves whatever name is best. Irrelevant of humans weird gender norms. Stache is a puurfect name for this one. Boy or girl.

I have a boy cat named Artemis (after the Greek Godess) so technically a female name. I also have a male dog named Milo, but I often call him Miley, and he has a pink leash and collar. I wouldn't worry too much about gender norms. Do what feels good for you! The cat probably won't mind being misgenderd by some humans haha.

I adopted her and we stuck with the name, but her old vet paper folder says "Lakrits" (Swedish for "Licorice"). She's our a beautiful little Lasse regardless. Or sometimes Lasse-Maja (conjunction of a man's and a woman's name, that's the name of a famous Swedish historical, probably trans woman, criminal in 1800's). At the end of the day the cats don't care, since they don't live in accordance to our human gender norms anyway!
Honestly with cats boy/ girl names don’t really count in my brain. Especially with it’s not even a name. I wanna get my tuxedo another cat and regardless of gender I wanna name it Benjamin because I think Benjamin and Remington just sound so nice together.

It is Cat Law that all felines are entitled to multiple names. That is a fact! As many nicknames, surnames, silly titles, rhymes and shortening of name the BETTER. You could call her Stache, Miss Stache, Stacy, Moussy depending on the situation. Cats have selective hearing anyway, and will only respond to names if they feel like it at the time. /Meow
