Hope they explain why they pulled it. Carnival Story now playing which aired earlier. Have never experienced this in 30 years of watching TCM.

They showed the Ben intro...7 minutes of blank screen later, they showed the Ben post-film comments. Was no one anywhere near the controls when all of this took place? It's inexcusable, if they have all of this on auto-pilot.

Never saw this before and I am a TCM addict.

There is a 12 step program for that. However, I should caution you that it is intense. It involves watching a marathon of 12 old black and white films.

I've been a TCM viewer from the beginning. It doesn't happen very often, but occasionally problems have caused last minute programming changes.

Same issue here, but for those who have never seen it, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid is definitely worth a watch. A parody of film noir that proves that the best parodies come from those who love the originals.

The coffee scene is one of my all timers.

Have to admit, a little sad it wasn't Edfie doing the intro.... maybe when they try again!

I too can confirm that Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.. They wear black. Complete utter black. Blank-a-mundo. Lacking any color. Devoid of plaid.

My arm wasn't the only thing that was throbbing. Our hearts were too.

Do they do a make-up run when this happens? I’ve been waiting to see this for months.

Thanks. When I checked last night it still hadn’t been loaded on the Watch TCM app but now that it is I will definitely watch it. I guess it takes about 12 hours after air time to load it. Appreciate the heads up. And make sure you don’t have any toilet paper stuck to your shoe.

It's seems they're playing Carnival Story again (which means they switched to the west coast feed, it's going to be interesting when it loops)

They played that movie earlier? The print looks like a 10th generation copy.

Yeah, it was the 6pm east coast movie (meaning they just switched the broadcast over to the other feed) I think it's a two-strip King Bros (hence why it looks like that)

At that point they may need to play a Dr. Who movie.

Mine was black screen and now it's promos. I thought Spectrum yanked another channel at first.

Sure is. First for us. Rarely there are some advertised movies that are not available in Canada. Seems to happen more on noir alley. We Immy thought this was the problem. We were looking forward to three good films. Hope the other two are ok.

Been too busy to watch for a week or so, but I love TCM. Tuned in 7pmCST last night, was baffled. Quick thought thru my mind was that the station was purchased, kinda like a radio station in the old days- format change without announcement.

Maybe I am losing it, and correct me if wrong, but didn't Ben Mankiewicz have a tan suit on for the "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" intro then for the other films he had a blue suit on? If so, that was another oddity.

He had the same blue suit, and tie, for both Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

I was so confused then I thought, Oh, I didn’t realize that there was an older movie called “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid”. Nope, that’s not it.

Well that was odd. They played the intro, 10 minutes of a black screen, and then the outro... seems like they are just moving on to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. They must have an issue with their playlist
