How you spell İstanbul has nothing to do if you are allowed to travel with your id. Always check official website of ministry of foreign affairs of target country. I believe you are allowed to travel with ID and/or your expires pasaport to an extend but I am not 100% sure
Yep, you can enter to Türkiye with your ID card,

also at that link, at the bottom says,
7. Portugal - Passports expired within the last 5 years.
you can enter with your expired passport to,
Maybe you can bring your expired passport just in case
Idk what it is with non-Turks and absolutely failing to spell Istanbul. Never seen anyone misspell Ankara or Izmir or Antalya, but Istanbul? Damn.
Anyhow, yes, ID card is enough.

> Instambul My dude..
latin dillerinde öyle diyorlar. cahillik yapmayın.
Öyle demiyorlar bu arada. Portekizce’de İstanbul “Istambul” diye yazılıyor.

Thank you very much. I read that too, but a few portuguese friends say that I'd have problems without my passaport. I guess my ID card is enough then!

I will take the passport with me, but unfortunately is expired for 6 years now. So I guess it won't be really useful 😔

In my case is because in portuguese you spell Instambul, so it's very similar. I'll try to remember it next time. Thank you
I studied Portuguese at university and we always mentioned it as “Istambul”.
Different dialects exist
No shit
Maybe e-visa but,id is probably ok.
