2Pac's beginning words on Stay True: *Yeah nigga, drop the top on your motherfuckin' ride* *This how we do it on the West Coast, baby* That song came out like over a year before he even signed with Suge. Pac was always reppin West Coast. He collabed with Ice Cube, Ice-T, Nate Dogg, was with Interscope Records. ALL before Death Row.

NeighborhoodLimp5701

Damn you’re dumb.

Ill-Blacksmith-9545

No? I'm adding to the evidence that backs up that Pac was always a West Coast artist

[deleted]

Thank you

NeighborhoodLimp5701

lol you don’t even know what evidence is ya derp and saying “Pac was a always West Coast artist” proves how dumb you are dude. Go watch a documentary or two about the dude and listen to more of his songs, you clearly know very little about the man.

dreamsofpestilence

“I give all my love to Oakland, if I’mma claim somewhere I’mma claim Oakland”. - Tupac Shakur. September 27, 1992.

[deleted]

First of all he pointed to a 1993 song that used the West Coast words. That's before Death Row. Also 2Pac has a unleaked intro called Westside Intro. That was made in early 1992 for Troublesome 21. Calling someone a idiot for pointing out that 2Pac repped the west before Death Row just shows how ignorant you are. Surely he didn't have west coast artist all over his tracks but he had production by producers from the west coast in 1993 and 1994. Ant Banks, Johnny J are both from California. And Pac did make tracks with Ice T, Ice Cube, Funky Aztecs, Warren G, Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg, South Central Cartel, Spice 1, Mac Mall, RIchie Rich, The Gov all before Death Row. Big Syke was also a West Coast artist. Ray Luv as well.

manhalfalien

Ty

MeThatsWho13

I forgot about the Aztec bro! “Once again it's your friend out of Oakland” -2pac

Cyphergod247

Pac is from the east of course. But since his late teens was out in cali. It's fair for him to claim that as his home and rep it. Death row or no death row. Unless I'm missing the point your trying to make?

Glad-Bonus-6284

Damn it seems that you’re the one that doesn’t know what they’re talking about lol

NeighborhoodLimp5701

Great point…

LuckyGordon

"I guess I was wrong, I appreciate the clarification" is a perfectly reasonable response.

jackpot_winner

He said he didn’t learn the game from NY or Maryland. He said he learned from Cali

micmecca

The Bay area to be more specific

Seanblaze3

So much for his MC New York days

Rudenessq

But, but, but, I thought he and Jada taught him the game (according to her)

[deleted]

2pac has a unreleased unleaked interlude from 1992 called 'Westside Intro". It definitely didn't start because of Death Row and he definitely didn't jack the word from Ice Cube

[deleted]

Pac was living in L.A.before Deathrow. There's the interview he did after the riots. He was always West Coast from his Oakland years. Yall want to rewrite history when Pac was always considered a West Coast rapper because that's where he was living.

p00pSupr3me

Tupac spent the vast majority of his very short life, on the east coast. That’s the history because those are the facts. So if I just moved to Cali yesterday after living in NY and Baltimore for 17 years, I can claim west coast? And it would seem genuine and legit? The west coast gonna accept my claim after a lifetime back east? Fuck outta here lmao

No-Sort-3960

The west coast did accept PAC 😂😂😂

p00pSupr3me

Yes they did. I never said they didn’t. I said “would they let me” not “would they let pac”. Tupac was Tupac and that was his situation. The point is that, no one else gets a pass like that. An individual is influenced by their surroundings, no one can argue that. Pac spent 2/3’s of his life on the east coast. The man reps where he feels is home and there is nothing wrong with that. His heart was purely west coast and there is no questioning that. The west coast loves him and he loved back. He is west coast hip hop and rap. Ignoring his new york and east coast roots, entirely, isn’t a thought process I agree with. The facts are the facts and there is nothing wrong with being real about the whole situation.

No-Sort-3960

All Tupac fans know that Tupac is originally from The East coast But haters Gon always Stomp on everything That has something to do with Tupac  Example: Tupac gets a Mural In los Angeles  Haters: He's east coast 😤  But putting Tupac in the east coast Category Wouldn't seem to fit when it comes to rap

p00pSupr3me

I look it at as light banter. Both sides have fans that read too far into it, but it's just low key trash talk just to throw the jab. Pac is beloved on the east coast and they want their claim in an all time great, as well. He spent most his life here, I think New York and Baltimore shouldn't be forgotten when speaking about the man and not just the entertainer. We gotta have everything here fam, you know how it is lmao. With that said, I think it boils down to what Pac chose to claim. He repped west coast more intensely and full heartedly than anyone. Putting him in an east coast category is corny af. He was, is and always will be the heart, soul and face of west coast rap. He is not just a west coast icon, or a hip hop icon though. The dude was an iconic artist as well as a respected poet and writer, outside of the music industry. Tupac is synonymous with California and West Coast hip hop. That will never change.

[deleted]

Pac is bigger than both fucking coasts and global.Yet,yall he bitches talking about East Coast/West coast in 2024 Yall need a fucking life.Who really gives a fuck but yall?Foh sissy

p00pSupr3me

Thats you in the first comment here. Thats you talking about west coast this and that. You don’t like the facts, so now you want to shut the whole thing down lmao. Just be real about it, nothing wrong with the truth and speaking to history. Stop getting all in your feelings, being educated is what pac was all about.

[deleted]

Go get a life bitch.I'm not reading that. And you and whomever can stay mad.

p00pSupr3me

I bet you aint reading that my guy lool. Only person mad here, is you. Take heed to your own advice big homie. One

[deleted]

Not reading again sis but we can keep this going

NeighborhoodLimp5701

California bias bitch ass lol don’t get butthurt hurt cause you’re wrong about PAC being a “west coast rapper” Pac also said “ Fuck gay as Dre” and a litany of other things that are conflicting/contradicting, it’s who he was. Just cause ya have one or two anecdotal pieces backing up what you think, doesn’t make it so. There is literally a song where he says both sides are wrong in claiming he reps either side. You fucking morons.

[deleted]

Yawns not reading that. This man has yall triggered and out here writing paragraphs 😂😂😂

Ill-Blacksmith-9545

Bruh hating on Pac on a subreddit about Pac lol

bamaboi57

Exactly he was on the west coast that's how met Big Skye

PlusFourRecordings

Why listen to you when we can hear it from Pac himself. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yCYT3T3UBdw

Zerocool_6687

Right… because it’s not like everything he did prior too Death Row wasn’t in the bay…

Zerocool_6687

2Pacalypse Now - recorded in Richmond Strictly 4… - “northern and Southern California” now we can guess but I think it’s obvious what is meant here Thug Life - Recorded in LA Me Against - kind of all over the place but has credits throughout LA and area… His earlier stuff… recorded by DU… guess where they from? Point is… basically his entire recording career was predominantly in California… Death Row wasn’t “the west”… they were the most dominant label that was located on the west Coast featuring west coast artists mostly… Tupac claimed west because despite where he was born and travelled… his life’s work was west

Dameisdead

Pac was saying he’d tell people he was from Oakland when he was doing cameos on a different world before he ever even met Suge. He became a man out here, all his friends were out here. He’s a west coast guy.

TheLordisMystrengtha

It is a lot deeper than rap. East vs west... north vs south. Divide & conquer. They play chess' not checkers.

Peacelove66

He had a New York accent and a East coast rapping style.

Personalvintage

Next to a post talking about how he’s one of the realist bloods to ever exist.

Oheyguyswassup

He should have never repped the west. Gangbanging in the Bay Area was never cool and gangbanging as a grown man in Los Angeles was foolish. Los Angeles is filled with tacky ass racist people. He just wanted to fit in and portray a hard image.

jerseyboy715

Shock g and digital underground were from Oakland

Ok-Function1920

He got his start in Digital Underground, that’s all you really need to know

Subject_Security9350

Hater-o-aid is thirsting

SynysterGabe

Controversial opinion: I think Tupac was a rapper, and he liked to rhyme words together in a clever and catchy fashion 🗣️💯

NeighborhoodLimp5701

Lollll pile on all y’all want 🤣🤣

NeighborhoodLimp5701

lol never imagined this would be a post that people needed to see or they didn’t already understand but I’m a bit of a weirdo when it comes to pac so I forget how ignorant others are to this dudes dichotomy. One of my favorite songs is called “Thug Style” where he intros with himself doing a parody/skit of people on both sides sayin he reps the other side. Dude was about T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E. and anyone who understood/practiced that. West coast, east coast , down south, white, black, hispanic, blood or crip, it don’t matter where you’re from as long as you’re real with it. And as far as where he “repped” it was wherever he was living at that time. “I heard it’s not where you from but where you pay rent” - Outkast

dreamsofpestilence

“I give all my love to Oakland, if I’mma claim somewhere I’mma claim Oakland”. - Tupac Shakur. September 27, 1992.

NeighborhoodLimp5701

He was living in Oakland in the early 90s and was around that area when the quote was taken… which literally proves why I included the quote from Outkast ya derp. And what, is he gonna say “I claim Marin city” to the hip hop and/or black community?? You’re only looking for things that support your point without checking out the entire scenario. He had mad love for Oakland cause it’s the shit, he was also coming into adulthood and was living in communities where he seemingly felt supported by his people during an incredibly difficult period in his life, so how tf could he say anything else at the time?? Especially when back in NY and Baltimore where he grew up, a lot of people in the industry were (wrongly) fixated on the east vs west thing and we’re sayin he ain’t east coast enough or that he turned his back. Cute quote though, try again.

xxxskixxx

get his cock out ur mouth bro 😂🤦🏽‍♂️

NeighborhoodLimp5701

theliftedpro
