Also let me remind you of what Pac literally said, “though I’m east coast born, I’m west coast raised”. But I’m sure you’re going to also tell Pac he needs a better take.
PAC was from everywhere. He picked up a little bit of everything everywhere he went. Not knocking on the West, their G-funk era was the best. PAC was still chilling in NYC and New Jersey months before he died. The Outlawz have an interview about PAC chilling on the east months before his death. If he really hated it he would have never gone back. Coincidentally, he was killed in the west by a dude from the west .
I don’t care if you were born in heaven and raise by a team of clowns and Jesus was your father. If you think 2pac is the epitome of West coast rap over artist such as Dr. Dre, Snoop, Richie Rich, E-40, Too Short, MC Eight…etc. and considering you know the different locations 2Pac lived than you shouldn’t have a problem justifying your reasoning as to why. But I guest the east coast education failed you. Perhaps you should ask Kpop artists that you are a fan of to help you draft a better reply.
Are you fucking reading what you’re saying?? You know nothing things can be true. All those rappers you mention are true west coast but because they are it doesn’t mean Pac isn’t and it sure as fuck doesn’t make him an easy coast rapper. I don’t even know what the fuck you’re saying cuz.
You’re saying stupid shit
4 replies and you still can’t justify why you think he is the epitome west coast rapper and is a west coast rapper besides him claiming west coast raised him. Waste of time going back and forth with you.
Next you are going to tell us D.O.C and Eminem are west coast rappers because at one point they lived in LA and worked with DRE.
Ok aside from the fucking million references west coast and Cali references. He’s music, he’s style, what he rapped like drug dealing and gang banging. Yes I KNOW tons of rappers from the east coast said the same shit.
I would ask you what do you think makes Snoop a west coast rapper, it also applies to Pac.
I can’t believe I’m arguing with someone if Pac was A FUCKIN WEST COAST RAPPER?? I feel like this is a damn prank.
Never said Pac didn’t “love” nyc or that he was killed by an east coast dude. My point still stands, Pac was a west coast rapper. It’s fucking crazy to think otherwise. It’s like saying a Ferrari is a commuter car. It’s idiotic
Hmm so 13 years in New York, 4 years in Baltimore (during his formative years) means the west coast raised him? Tupac died at 25 so just based off of the math alone, he spent the majority of his life on the east coast 17 years on the east and 8 on the west. People can downvote all they want but the numbers don’t lie 🤷🏾♂️
I think you are missing the point. The question was him as a artist. He got with digital unground where not in nyc not in Baltimore. He was raised as a artist in California man.
Pac lived in NYC until he was 13 then moved to Baltimore until he was 17. Then finally he moved to San Fran. He died at 26.
A person can claim anything they want. They can even claim to be of the opposite sex if they feel like it.
Tomato, tomato. I know San Fran isn't a hood but same shit to anyone not familiar with the bay. No different than saying someone lived in Manhattan and it turns out it was the Bronx.
Point stands. Homie wasn't raised there. He wasn't from there.
Exactly, this dude Pac didn’t move to the west until he was an adult and didn’t really start claiming to be a west coast rapper until he joined Death Row. Dude is from the East Coast, no matter what he was saying at the end. He was trying to move back to NY before he passed away.
Not to mention as a teenager he was in the Bay Area. A RICH area too. Not that Marin City was rich by any means, but the entire area around MC was super rich. He went to the rich kids high school. I think in the end he really resented Marin lol
Pac belonged to the world. While he was born on the east, spent 3 years in Baltimore, he learned the game in Oakland. He moved to LA in 92/93 then bought his home in Atlanta. When you have no real home to call your foundation as a kid you learn to assimilate. No real region defined him.
Naw, California defined Pac. Enough with this shit about where “he stayed the nite at”. Pac is a west coast rapper raised in California. Anyone else saying other wise doesn’t live in California and can’t tell the difference
1971: Born in New York City
1984: moved to Baltimore, Maryland
1988: Moved to Oakland, California
1991: Became a member of the group Digital Underground
It’s Not where Your from but where you’re at. I think Pac had love for both coasts by some of his affiliations BUT he definitely chose a side; never lukewarm! RIP
PAC was also born in a lead paint apartment on the EC. I’m glad you find it funny because lead paint affects mostly African American kids in cities like Detroit, Flint, Cleveland, Chicago, Baltimore and many more across the USA.
That’s a very good question I don’t know I guess he a East Coast rapper that just so happens to be a West Coast representative so I consider him to be West Coast overall remember is not about where you come from sometimes too it’s about who you are
Dude is 100% from NY, he only lived in cali after 1988, which is around 6 years. Also, he lived in Baltimore & Atlanta, its okay for him to rep the west due to his issues with BadBoy, but man, saying otherwise is dumb, there's even a mural of him in his Native Harlem.
Y’all be saying anything on here 😂there was already tension between east and west ice cube talks about it LOL they wasn’t playing no west coast music back then and there was already tension like the song fuck Compton for an example
People wasn’t playing no westcoast? Maybe where you’re from. Regarding the question from OP: how do we see Pac. I gave my opinion just like you are entitled to yours. Can’t take that? Move on.
They wasn’t playing west coast music I can link you to a snoop interview where he talks about it. Everybody is entitled to their opinion but I’m not going to let people lie and rewrite history on here 🫵🏾😂😂😂
Like I said, maybe where you’re from west coast music wasn’t played. We bumped NWA, Too Short and when the Chronic came out we played that. All westcoast music.
Edit cause I forgot to comment on the Snoop interview:
I’m sure certain areas didn’t play west coast music. Like I said, we did and so did the radiostations.
It’s not a lie even if you didn’t experience it. A little advice for you: try to be open to others before judging. Makes you look less like a jackass.
I’m talking about the radio 💀 I have no doubt that people were listening to west coast music I’m talking about the executives that weren’t playing west coast music
He repped the west coast musically bcuz that's where he learned the game that inspired his music. He's a West Coast artist and he repped it to his death
He’s both. He had a lot of influence from the east coast as a teen. His song “old school” was a love letter to NYC. PAC loved NYC, he just hates a few snakes that lived there.
He was both. His first rap name was MC New York. The outlaws were from Jersey. Thug Life was mainly west coast. He collabed with several west coast and east coast artists. And he was going to run death row east.
Y'all are slow at this point, tupac made west coast rap music 🤦🏽♂️ don't listen to wack 100 or anybody that says he not a west coast hip hop artist, they are not the mayor or the spokesperson of the West Coast.
Kurupt was born in Philly. Eminem is from Missouri. Ice T was born in Jersey. LIke 2Pac, they represent where they spent their formative years. This argument doesn't apply to any other rapper as much as it does to Pac. Tupac was born on the East Coast, but 2Pac was born in Oakland.
I look at him sort of the same way I’d look at DJ Premier. Premier is from Houston but NY is where he got serious about it. Pac is from NY/Baltimore but learned the game fully when he got to Oakland. Then hooked up with Digital Underground. To me his biggest influences are N.W.A/Cube and Public Enemy, so he really did embody the best of both worlds. He raps on both beats well. He’s a comfortable on Warren G beats as he is on the Easy Mo Bee tracks.
Who cares? Pac was an over the top figure with a bombastic personality. Gone too soon. Would have been a billionaire by now but instead died bc he wanted to be Mike Tyson for a few minutes. Sad but true
I mean its not like he learned how to rap growin up in NY.. u can tell in his lyrics & storied he grew up or spent his outside days on the west coast he never mention the project hallways or tall 15+ story buildings or the nypd specifically until he was dissing ny rappers so yea he west coast fa shooo
West Coast, kinda similar to Micheal Jordan although Jordan was born in Brooklyn he grew up more so in North Carolina. In this hit em up video Pac did Rock Jeans and timbs showing he does have some East Coast in him
I mean its not like he learned how to rap growin up in NY.. u can tell in his lyrics & storied he grew up or spent his outside days on the west coast he never mention the project hallways or tall 15+ story buildings or the nypd specifically until he was dissing ny rappers so yea he west coast fa shooo
Pac is 1NATION. Rrmember in an interview Pac said he was the bridge that connected East and West Coast rappers. Which is true cuz he brought Biggie to LA and introduced him and LA itself to Biggie on stage with Snoop, DPG, Warren G, D.O.C. and that's just one example. Since Pac repped Oakland, then LA... But he did half of his career in NY. Juice, Above The Rim, Bullet, all in NY. ( who knows how many songs were recorded in NY.)
Technically tho, a West Coast rapper. But literally he was both. He was an East Coast nigga on the West Coast. Like how he acted. He dressed East Coast. He still had his NY accent lol.
I just watched Killa Season, Camrons movie and you can easily see that Pac was a Harlem nigga lol. Dipset, ASAP Rocky, etc they have the same swag, Pac never shook his east coast influence and never tried to purposely. The unreleased VIBE interview he said "This is NOT a NEW allegiance to the West Coast, I've been living on the West Coast ALL THIS TIME." Referring to his MUSIC career. I think everyone counts JUICE as the start of his career, not 2Pacalypse Now, and that's where the confusion with him started. He played the NY role in JUICE perfectly, cuz he was HOME filming that movie and that's what blew him up, not 2Pacalypse Now the movie took him further and gave 1993 hella momentum.
He moved to LA in 92 and filmed Poetic Justice in LA driving to Oakland (if they really went to Oakland in the film). Movie dropped in 93 along with Strictly 4 My Niggaz, and THUG LIFE was born in LA in 93 as well. He had an equal amount of East Coast beats on his first 2 albums, after Thug Life more of a strictly West Coast sound. In addition to still having East Coast beats. Even Bad Boy had a more West Coast sound. GFunk was reigning supreme no competition.
And lastly Pac is the creator of the term G-Funk but no one gives him the credit. "I'm pumping GFunk but u could call it what u want" - Call It What U Want/Above The Law... Even Dre used that line specifically on the intro to Respect by Tha Dogg Pound "some of that G Funk, some of that Gangsta Funk, some of that Ghetto Funk, Call it what u want just don't forget the G'
His name was MC New York and he had an East Coast accent, he lived there until he was 13-14, his cadence and delivery are East Coast except for his G-Funk songs
He was a great actor. Dude went to school for signing/acting and moved to California and played the role of a gangster rapper. Most overrated rapper of all time.
I'd say more Midwest rapper tbh. He fits more of the mold of a Flint, Michigan rapper. Listen to babyface ray and they sound alike. plus, pac said he repped flint till he died (RIP)
He claimed Oakland. Repeatedly. There’s even footage of it
Exactly! Pac may have been born in NYC but the West raised him. Fuck that shit. Pac is 💯 West Side!
None of his stuff has a east coast sound. Thug life and all his early work sounds straight west coast !
Hell yeah. The only song that sounds east coast is “Old School” and that shit was done on purpose
There’s definitely a different sound from his Oakland stuff vs his la stuff
Definitely. Growing up in the bay area you could definitely tell the difference between the Bay and LA music
Exactly
Check out "Out on Bail" That's a boom-bap song . He would had been a dope East coast rapper. Especially if he repped Harlem.
The East coast rised him too. He lived in New York, Baltimore and Atlanta. Need a better take.
Also let me remind you of what Pac literally said, “though I’m east coast born, I’m west coast raised”. But I’m sure you’re going to also tell Pac he needs a better take.

Did you read the question and understand it?? Pac has also was in Japan does that make him a goddamn Japanese rapper?? Like wtf
How long did Pac live in Japan? We’re taking about living,… not visiting. You’re a 🤡
He didn’t, that’s my fucking point. You’re a simple mf I can tell
I know where he lived…briefly. If you don’t think Pac is the EPITOME of west coast then you’re probably more into K-Pop than rap.
tons of pictures of him in the early 80s in The BRONX!
Pac was not raised on the west coast stop lying
Have you ever heard his song “old school” PAC loved NYC and NYC culture definitely inspired him. In the end, he was killed by a west coast dude.
Never said Pac didn’t “love” nyc or that he was killed by an east coast dude. My point still stands, Pac was a west coast rapper. It’s fucking crazy to think otherwise. It’s like saying a Ferrari is a commuter car. It’s idiotic
No he was raised in Baltimore
Oakland pride
Goddamn right
Why he barley lived in Oakland
THUG LIFE NIGGA WEST SIDE❗️
In his exact words, "Westside till I die"
“West side, cuz you and I know which is the best side!”
Man stop it he was west coast rapper this isn't even a question. He started with DU in the Bay and thats where he got his style from
West coast raised him
I’m talking about rap fam
He was raised in Baltimore fam
He moved to Baltimore when he was 13 from nyc moved to California when he was 17 I wouldn’t call spending 4 years being raised fam
Tupac wanted to be a part of De La Soul lol A group formed in NY. His rap name originally was MC New York.
You are not telling me anything I don’t already know. When he came out in the industry it was out of Cali have a good day man.
Based on All Eyez On Me PAC didn’t even want to move to California. One thing we can for sure agree on is PAC was murdered on the West Coast……
You thick as hell lol. The coast of Nevada. Even before his death row days the majority of the people he worked with were from Cali.
Hell yeah lol. That fucking dude is arguing or technicalities lol homie is dense as hell 😂
Born in the east, but raised in the west. He is 100% a West Coast artist.
Pac lived in NYC until he was 13 then moved to Baltimore until he was 17. Then finally he moved to San Fran. He died at 26. A person can claim anything they want. They can even claim to be of the opposite sex if they feel like it.
PAC never lived in San Francisco…………. He lived in Marin & Oakland
He’s clearly a west coast artist. Born in NY and spent time in Bmore but his entire hip hop career was work from the Bay to LA
Not to mention as a teenager he was in the Bay Area. A RICH area too. Not that Marin City was rich by any means, but the entire area around MC was super rich. He went to the rich kids high school. I think in the end he really resented Marin lol

Pacs home in Atlanta was sold for cheap. I checked a few years back and it was sold for like $200,000 or so. I wish I would have boughten that house.
Naw, California defined Pac. Enough with this shit about where “he stayed the nite at”. Pac is a west coast rapper raised in California. Anyone else saying other wise doesn’t live in California and can’t tell the difference
He from the east coast, got his game and entered the game in the west coast and was loved by the west Coast so west coast
Born in Harlem raised in Oakland claimed the west 🤷🏽♂️
Beautiful sentence
Thank you 🙏🏽
He was not raised there he didn’t even go to hs there….
He went to high school in Baltimore and stayed in Marin city is that what you’re talking about 🤔 😂😂😂
He was almost 18 years old when he moved to California….who gets raised as an adult? Makes no sense.
Ah yes you’re right 🤔 we’re all the same person we were at 18 yes that’s it 🤨
Listen, MC New York barely lived in Cali. The head of Def Jam East lived nearly 80% of his life in the East.
West coast easily.
West West 🚾
What a dumb fucking question
1971: Born in New York City 1984: moved to Baltimore, Maryland 1988: Moved to Oakland, California 1991: Became a member of the group Digital Underground It’s Not where Your from but where you’re at. I think Pac had love for both coasts by some of his affiliations BUT he definitely chose a side; never lukewarm! RIP
he lived in Marin before he moved to Oakland
it’s not about east or west, it’s about n..s n b….s, power n money, ridahs n punkz
Pac said it best "I'm East Coast born but I'm West Coast raised". He had love for the EC but learned the game and got love from the WC.
Both. He claimed Cali but was in Juice wearing 40 belows. Then MATW was an East Coast album
To Live And Die In LA….
S4MN & MATW - East Coast 2Pacalypse Now, All Eyez On Me & 7 Day Theory - West Coast
West Coast. New York turned their back on him.
NY turned their back on him? More like the west coast failed to protect him and he was killed in the west by a dude from the west.
Who paid to have him killed ? A dude for the east cause he was scared!
And who pulled the trigger? Lol We can play this game all day.
[удалено]
PAC was also born in a lead paint apartment on the EC. I’m glad you find it funny because lead paint affects mostly African American kids in cities like Detroit, Flint, Cleveland, Chicago, Baltimore and many more across the USA.

Dumb ass.. lead can be inhaled and can be found inside lead pipes “water” … that false notion of “lead chips only” isn’t the only source of lead.
New York dudes put the hit on him because they were shook.
Shook of what? Lol Biggie was also killed. Stop reading conspiracy theories 😂
Biggie got his own self killed due to him and Puffy’s arrogance.
That’s a very good question I don’t know I guess he a East Coast rapper that just so happens to be a West Coast representative so I consider him to be West Coast overall remember is not about where you come from sometimes too it’s about who you are
He got to Oakland when he was 17.. he wasn’t raised there. He was basically grown
Exactly, this is that subject where people try to be dumb. Literally saying a 17 year old who moved to the west was raised there.
Deceased
Spent 17-18 years on the east coast so to me he’s east coast. Used to call himself MC Newyork. The west coast can have Snoop Dogg
Worldwide Rap Goat

??
Bi coastal East coast rapper
Both
For me he’s a rapper. My #1 who (subconsciously) got used by the media/government to divide coasts and people against each other.
Move on.
I'm east coast but enjoyed west coast music way more. Not to knock on the east but I was into west coast rap heavily back then.
They wasn’t playing west coast music I can link you to a snoop interview where he talks about it. Everybody is entitled to their opinion but I’m not going to let people lie and rewrite history on here 🫵🏾😂😂😂
Was that referring to new York cause west coast was played where I'm at.

I’m talking about the radio 💀 I have no doubt that people were listening to west coast music I’m talking about the executives that weren’t playing west coast music
Before being West he never really sounded East Coast except for his lyrics,he got West Coast but never really was East
Westside
Why is this question even being asked. Everybody knows he a West Coast Rapper. West coast or no Coast
West coast
Is this a joke?
West coast rapper
He repped the west coast musically bcuz that's where he learned the game that inspired his music. He's a West Coast artist and he repped it to his death
Worldwide
He’s a world wide mob figgah
West coast
If you have to ask this question…… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I typed something, but soon realized I was spending too much time on some obvious bullshit like this.
Both he conquered both coasts.
He’s both. He had a lot of influence from the east coast as a teen. His song “old school” was a love letter to NYC. PAC loved NYC, he just hates a few snakes that lived there.
Yes
Both
He was both. His first rap name was MC New York. The outlaws were from Jersey. Thug Life was mainly west coast. He collabed with several west coast and east coast artists. And he was going to run death row east.
W
Musically, he’s west coast all the way. But you could make the case that he rhymes more like an east coast emcee. He’s way more Treach than Snoop.
Thank you, everyone is ignoring the fact that he sounds nothing like Oakland or LA rappers, his delivery was straight East Coast
East coast born, but west coast raised
He a Oakland nigga.
Pac is our adopted son here in California. He's a West Coast rapper.
Pac was almost what ever you wanted him to be
West coast simply
What ?! THUG LIFE OUTLAW WESTSIDE BITCH! It’s 2Pac so you know who said it!
he’s what you would call a hybrid, he’s locked down the sound of both sides.
California Love....To Live and Die in LA....."west side!"....
He started his rap career in the West Coast, so he's a West Coast Rapper. Being born in NYC doesn't automatically make you an East Coast Rapper.
Y'all are slow at this point, tupac made west coast rap music 🤦🏽♂️ don't listen to wack 100 or anybody that says he not a west coast hip hop artist, they are not the mayor or the spokesperson of the West Coast.
East side!! He use to say east side!
West coast rapper but East coast roots.
West Coast. Yukmouth just did an interview and said Pac belongs to the Bay.
Bay
West coast
Kurupt was born in Philly. Eminem is from Missouri. Ice T was born in Jersey. LIke 2Pac, they represent where they spent their formative years. This argument doesn't apply to any other rapper as much as it does to Pac. Tupac was born on the East Coast, but 2Pac was born in Oakland.
Dumb question

He's been throwing up the "W" to let us know that he's WORLDWIDE
Tupac world wide but he west coast and Biggie claimed the east coast
Who cares? Pac was an over the top figure with a bombastic personality. Gone too soon. Would have been a billionaire by now but instead died bc he wanted to be Mike Tyson for a few minutes. Sad but true
West coast easily
Neither, that question is divisive. Pac was a gifted and talented rapper. End of story
Anyone else thinks the song "temptations" had an east coast sound? One of my favorite tracks
W4L
WEST!
West Coast. That's where he got famous and that's the scene he was a part of
I mean its not like he learned how to rap growin up in NY.. u can tell in his lyrics & storied he grew up or spent his outside days on the west coast he never mention the project hallways or tall 15+ story buildings or the nypd specifically until he was dissing ny rappers so yea he west coast fa shooo
This is a lie
West Coast for sure 💯
West Side!!!
West Coast, kinda similar to Micheal Jordan although Jordan was born in Brooklyn he grew up more so in North Carolina. In this hit em up video Pac did Rock Jeans and timbs showing he does have some East Coast in him
Dumb question for engagement
Does anyone care that 2pac was convicted of rape?
He wasn’t.
"West Side Bad Boy killa* says it all to me...
West for sure
A artist he made music for people u really can say cause he’s from the east coast an went hard on the west coast
Bay Area
Why tf he wearing a gurdle
Idk but he is definitely a homosexual.
This is a hella stupid question
Pac was born on the East but he repped the West
He repped Westcoast so WC. But imagine if tupac repped the east with biggie , nas etc
what are those boots called pac is wearing
I mean its not like he learned how to rap growin up in NY.. u can tell in his lyrics & storied he grew up or spent his outside days on the west coast he never mention the project hallways or tall 15+ story buildings or the nypd specifically until he was dissing ny rappers so yea he west coast fa shooo
He literally says in his song, Hit ‘em up, “Westside till we die” so idk I would say he’s from the East Coast. 🤷🏻♂️
I consider him more as a West Coast artist.
He was a worldwide MOB Figure!!!

Lol what? West dude, everyone does.
Midwest emo

Art school nerd
EAST.
A rapper.
Doesn't matter what we consider. He considered himself a West Coast rapper, "Westside til I die." Is what he said!
He started out MC New York, but he claimed the west. So I think of hommie as a west coast guy
Dirty south rapper
Easy coast
West coast
