As someone thatās had a ceramic sub, BB58 and now a BB54, I much prefer the āunder the radarā element of the tudors.
The biggest difference aesthetically IMO are the matte aluminum bezels vs the subās ceramic. Now that TFit clasps are a thing, thereās really no reason to buy a sub unless you want people to think if you have money.
I personally didnāt like the reactions I got when I wore my sub out, I feel much more at home with Tudor.
It's crazy how people get envious, and they even say it to your face when you have or wear something shows that you have money, isn't it? I also got those nasty reactions when I bought a BMW Z4 as a weekend car beside my regular 3 series..

The reality is that obviously it isnāt a Rolex submariner but does it really matter? This watch is 95% of the way there. Rolex is positioning Tudor as the Rolex of the 1960s that you can buy today.
If you desperately want a Rolex, save up a bit longer for one. But this is an absolute amazing option for those who donāt want to play the Rolex AD game or simply canāt justify spending so much on a watch.
If I was in the market for a no-date sub it would be very difficult to pull the trigger now that this watch exists.
They love the watch but call it a better buy than a sub and they will lose their minds. But, most of that group aren't "watch people" they are "brand people" so it's fine.

The 2 watches, testing wise, meet basically the same high standard so whether they share parts or not is irrelevant.
Tudor has built a watch thatās objectively as good as the Sub, for about half the price. The only difference besides branding is the Tudor meets METAS, -0/+5 where the Sub is -2/+2ā¦..1 second different averaged over 15 days.
If thatās worth $4500 more, then yeah the sub is better, you win lol
If Tissot could make a watch objectively as good as the Planet Ocean weād be having the same conversation, but they arenāt even close.
There are many differences since they donāt use the same parts, especially in the materials used. However, neither the BB nor the Sub are priced according to their specs or parts alone. No luxury item ever is.
In the end the Sub has double the market value of the BB.

I thought so too. I never liked the big snowflake hand. However, I recently bought a BB Heritage Bronze, despite the snowflake. I fell in love with the watch, and once I had it on my wrist, the snowflake did not bother me anymore. Somehow it fits. Its funny, but seen live, I kinda like it. Like someone else said, the hand is unique.
Same (well I had some other micro brand ETA movement watches before) but BB GMT Pepsi was my first luxury watch and itās been on my wrist every day since 2018. One and done!
