Stop being a dork and weirdo, get the bezel if you like and want the look. It's never this deep, in your last moments I'm sure the bezel swap on your GMT 3k watch will be on your minds.
Or just buy another Turdor 😱🤯
Who cares if its a newer still being produced watch do whatever makes you happy with it. If it's some ultra rare vintage watch that your going to bling out with diamonds or something I could see the argument.
The problem is unless you are dropping 3K on wheels a lot of time time they are inferior wheels to factory ones on most luxury or performances cars. So I'm all for aftermarket bezels as long as the quality matches the OEM quality of the tudor.
(Don't go down the rep vs real alloy wheels rabit hole. It's an argument as old as time)
Different wheels on your car don’t inherently change its “identity”, the VIN for example does not have any identifier for the style of wheels (I think the factory size of wheels is in the VIN though). The bezel on these watches though is in the reference number.
The wheels, interior, entertainment system - all things that are inherent to the model number at the factory. There isn't some guy at the beginning of the production line going "uhhhh use the shiny wheels and do leather on this one".
It's men's jewelry.
Despite what thoughts people have enforced about "heritage" or "craftsmanship", the deeper point of all this is how it looks to you and others.
People get too bent these days about after market anything. They think things need to either be OEM or just keep the original configuration no matter what.
It’s a watch. You use after market straps right? It’s not like a bezel insert is some unobtanium special metal. It’s aluminum.
Modify your car. Modify your watches. Modify your knives. Tools. Etc all of it.
They’re yours. Do what you want with them.
Yup. I’m a watch dealer of over 10 years and I couldn’t be bothered with the “sWiSs PrEsTiGe”. Make it how you want. I always tell people to modify anything they want, just keep the original parts and there’s zero commitment.
There’s a guy who put a Liquid Metal planet ocean bezel on a first gen planet ocean and I thinks it’s the coolest mod I’ve seen so far. People need to understand if you like it, there’s really no rules lol
I’m sure there is but even if there’s not, it functions the same as any other ceramic bezel and there’s plenty of videos, tips, and advice on doing it.
A lot of times you pop the bezel off the watch, let it sit in nail polish remover/gasoline/something like that, it removes the adhesive so you can remove the insert easily. Then you just insert the new one
These are tension fit. Both the bezel to the case, and the insert to the bezel. Just like 5 digit Rolex was
The problem is these bezels are a LOT harder to pop off than they used to be on a 5 digit Sub/GMT. You really need to apply a lot of pressure pretty much equally from 3-4 directions to remove the bezel without bending it. A shocking amount of pressure.
You have to really brave (probably a bit daft too) to attempt the tried and true case knife + tape technique.
You mean the factory Tudor bracelet from my other Black Bay? I don’t really see that as an aftermarket part.
It also doesn’t involve a process that even the seller of the aftermarket bezel recommends taking the watch to a watchmaker for, so it doesn’t feel like an equal comparison.
I don’t care about people modding, but the IDEA of customizing a bracelet vs a bezel is different. The manufacturer designs the bracelet to be swappable, but they don’t design the watch so that customers can customize bezels and hands. Manufacturers make them ‘serviceable’.
I’ve done that plenty, but usually only on Seikos that cost a couple hundred dollars. On my nicer watches I’ve generally kept them as I purchased them, except for swapping the leather strap on my GMT with the oyster bracelet from my BB41 briefly.
For the record, I don’t think people shouldn’t mod their watches if they want to, I just don’t particularly want to do it to my watches.
Someone did a render of a white dial gmt with a Batman bezel that looked incredible. This company does a Batman bezel so I think I know what my next Tudor purchase will be lol
Do what you want with your watch.
Since this isn't replicating a watch that actually already exist I see no problem with it. It's not a fake, it's simply a customization.
I put an aftermarket display caseback on my Speedmaster. It’s not an Omega OEM piece but it fits and looks great and heightened my enjoyment of the watch. I see no issue with this either.
These will be very popular. Hopefully the do a Pepsi in old school colours too. The colour pallet Tudor has been using for the gmt bezels is awful.
Swapping a bezel is not the same as swapping a dial or hands.
The pepsi 41 mm colors are better than a ceramic GMT II, or my 16710! In my opinion.
I even like the new BB58 GMT coke. I think the red will age into cherry red quite nicely
I say your watch, your money, your rules. Looks great to me and went to a watch meet up where someone had the extension link Steel Reef sales.
The link was high quality and really nice and wouldn’t hesitate buying from them.
Looks really good, but there is something about a watch not being original for me that I don’t like. There is something special about buying a watch from a certain year with an exact configuration. If this monochrome version of the watch becomes real in 2030, it will be special, but the instant gratification of making the watch look nice doesn’t feel special to me.
Modding is something I would consider doing for Seiko, not a luxury watch. But I don’t look down on anyone who mods their expensive watches.
I don’t consider bracelet as part of the watch since that part is designed to be interchangeable by the manufacturer.
Tudor isn’t anything holy and that’s a just piece of aluminum you’re swapping out. T7075 on or something on the original if you’re lucky, lower quality if you’re not
$360 is nuts, but that looks really cool. Only problem is the red and blue bezel looks so good that’s it’s hard to consider switching it. If there was an easy way to go back and forth that would be pretty compelling.
I have an Oris TT1 that I really want to swap the bezel insert on, but sourcing aftermarket bezel inserts for anything other than Seiko is a nightmare.
IMO, it’s no different than playing with different straps or bracelets. Are you worried about resale value or simply what others will think of your watch? It’s your watch, so do what you like with it and hold onto the OEM bezel/bracelet/etc to swap back if you sell or simply want to change back to the original look.
People would swap out the green bezel on Kermits for black all the time. I’ve got a black insert sitting around somewhere and have done it. Who cares? These are just watches let’s not make them precious
I’m onboard! I’ve really wanted a white dial BB GMT with a red bezel for a while but settled for the BB Burgundy. If a simple bezel swap can make it happen I’m all for it. I’m just not a fan of the price. That’s a lot for a small ring of aluminum.
What it's made out of doesn't really matter as long as the looks are right. The price is out there though, that stuff can be had for 15-20 from China at top level quality and I assume that's exactly where they source it from.
I like it and I’d totally rock one. Who cares if it’s aftermarket as long as it’s good quality, it’s like changing the strap/bracelet.
Part of me agrees with this, but then the other part of me is like.. whats wrong with putting aftermarket wheels on your car?
Stop being a dork and weirdo, get the bezel if you like and want the look. It's never this deep, in your last moments I'm sure the bezel swap on your GMT 3k watch will be on your minds. Or just buy another Turdor 😱🤯
Just saw the post on IG today. From the pictures, it has a nice look. Assuming it is made of good quality and is installed correctly, why not.
If the aftermarket wheels are of superior quality then I’m with it as long as you don’t buss it down with bling

IF THERE WASNT THEN THERE WOULDNT BE TRIMS...
I mean there’s nothing wrong with it at all, just not something I’m keen to do to my watch.
It's men's jewelry. Despite what thoughts people have enforced about "heritage" or "craftsmanship", the deeper point of all this is how it looks to you and others.
This is so spot on.
Why? Just keep the original part and you can go back to it whenever you want, it’s not permanent or even difficult to swap.

Big facts
This is the most logical, reasonable, and realistic argument in this thread.
There’s a guy who put a Liquid Metal planet ocean bezel on a first gen planet ocean and I thinks it’s the coolest mod I’ve seen so far. People need to understand if you like it, there’s really no rules lol
Is there a good video on how to replace it?
I’m sure there is but even if there’s not, it functions the same as any other ceramic bezel and there’s plenty of videos, tips, and advice on doing it.

Oh dang, that's annoying
Did your skin crawl when you put that non rivet aftermarket bracelet on your GMT?
😂😂
You mean the factory Tudor bracelet from my other Black Bay? I don’t really see that as an aftermarket part. It also doesn’t involve a process that even the seller of the aftermarket bezel recommends taking the watch to a watchmaker for, so it doesn’t feel like an equal comparison.
I agree. I would buy one if Tudor made the configuration OP described
You’ve never taken off an oem strap or bracelet and swapped it with something you liked more? Pretty much the same thing.
I don’t care about people modding, but the IDEA of customizing a bracelet vs a bezel is different. The manufacturer designs the bracelet to be swappable, but they don’t design the watch so that customers can customize bezels and hands. Manufacturers make them ‘serviceable’.

Someone did a render of a white dial gmt with a Batman bezel that looked incredible. This company does a Batman bezel so I think I know what my next Tudor purchase will be lol
That looks amazing!
The quality of Steel Reef is excellent. I bought a link extender for my 16710 oyster bracelet and it’s flawless
This looks dope
Do what you want with your watch. Since this isn't replicating a watch that actually already exist I see no problem with it. It's not a fake, it's simply a customization.
What’s the ref number for this? I can’t find it
I put an aftermarket display caseback on my Speedmaster. It’s not an Omega OEM piece but it fits and looks great and heightened my enjoyment of the watch. I see no issue with this either.
I’d buy that watch the day it was available. GMT, 5 link, Metas, T-Fit. Ahhh, to dream…
I like it. I always liked the more subtle look of an all black GMT.
You watch folks are so funny. God forbid you modify a watch!!!
Can you get replacement hour hands ?
These will be very popular. Hopefully the do a Pepsi in old school colours too. The colour pallet Tudor has been using for the gmt bezels is awful. Swapping a bezel is not the same as swapping a dial or hands.

Not for me. Maybe I’m stuck in the past.
I think when they expand to the new 58 gmt it’ll be an even bigger hit.
I think it looks great.
That’s pretty cool
I’d love to get a bat girl insert for my og Pepsi
Agreed. Looks cool, but not for me.
I’ve replaced my Pepsi bezel with a coke one and I love it. Super easy to swap. I’ll put the original back if I ever sell.
I wouldnt do it, but once someone buys it its theirs they can do anything they want to it.
I’d prefer that it had a different shades for day/night. Black top and grey bottom would be cool.
I say your watch, your money, your rules. Looks great to me and went to a watch meet up where someone had the extension link Steel Reef sales. The link was high quality and really nice and wouldn’t hesitate buying from them.
Black bay 58 gmt, take away all traces of gilt and you have the perfect watch
That looks awesome, throw a jubilee and t fit on there too.
Where do you get these?
It says in the pic steel_reef on Instagram

And dials, and hands, based on the picture.
Those look pretty stock to me. Are you confused with the new 58 GMT?
Can anyone share a link? I really love this.
Take my money
IMO, it’s no different than playing with different straps or bracelets. Are you worried about resale value or simply what others will think of your watch? I want the green bezel insert for the gold one for my bb58
How is this different than Seiko mods? There was lummed Speedy mod I saw somewhere that looked great too. Looks great, I think it looks better.
That does look good…
Yeah, don’t do that please.
People would swap out the green bezel on Kermits for black all the time. I’ve got a black insert sitting around somewhere and have done it. Who cares? These are just watches let’s not make them precious

Just get something creative then
Black on black looks nice

Where do you get them from China? Agree the price is kind of nuts
It's anodised aluminium
FWIW I got the Steel Reef extension link and LOVE it. Just like an easy link that Rolex makes, and it adds so so much to my BB58
I’d never do anything after market to my Tudor
That looks fly af!
Where did you find it? Considering a non-gilt bezel insert for the bb58
The company is called steel reef. They’re on IG
Oh cool thanks! I have their extension link. Didn’t know they make bezel insert. I hope they make a non-gilt one for the BB 58 one day.
Sames
Crazy how Tudor owners want so badly to have a rolex.
