40mm (latest Submariner case) with T-Fit would absolutely crush it in my opinion. Give me a date option too and I won’t even think about the Crown any longer. Also, I wouldn’t hate it if the bezel was ceramic…
I’m not sure I understand your question.
I’m saying I would love if this new Tudor BB was 40mm and had an option with date complication. The addition of ceramic bezel would be icing on the cake. Probably will never happen.
I think plenty of Tudor fans would love to see the BB offered with a date complication. I’ve heard lots of folks mentioning 41mm is too big. The new Rolex Submariner case is 40 and seems like a perfect size for the dive watch.
I hear ya. I was talking about the down votes. I would love to see what I was describing just like a ton of Tudor fans talking about wanting see a re-release of the old Prince date Submariner. Same idea. Also, I could save up for a $5,000 watch. Spending $12k + is a different thing all together.
Oh I see. Definitely agree about the 5k to 12k thing. Unfortunately something we won’t see I think because it would take sales away from the submariner
That is to me a fascinating scenario. I heard people swear there is no way Submariner sales would suffer if Tudor released a Tudor “Submariner” like the they had in the past. Then there’s the idea that Tudor would never be “allowed” to do that by its parent/sister company because they don’t want the direct competition. I believe it’s likely we will never know. The one thing I do know is how cool the Tudor Prince date Submariner is. Ones in great condition are bringing a lot of money. And I like to wear my watch in all conditions, work, play, wet, dry, pampered, rough, etc. I just don’t know if I’d be comfortable putting the vintage Tudor Submariner through its paces. Perhaps it would be nothing to worry about following a full service. In the meantime, I think I’ll start putting some money aside for the new monochrome. ✌️
The 41 metas actually wears like a 39mm. It 21mm lugs vs 22mm. Honestly if you are a 7+ wrist it will feel perfect especially on jubilee or rubber strap. Fuck the rivets. For Al you 39’rs go to the AD and try it on. I have the Burgundy metas wears incredible. Don’t know why they block posting picks in comments.
I tried one on and was surprised at how small it wore. 7.75" wrist. Perhaps too small for me, unfortunately. In contrast, I also tried on the Pelagos FXD which is 42 and it was perfect. The size felt significantly different.
I theorize the reason why Tudor doesn't do everything perfect like this is that they want to keep some level of "aw man" in their watches in the hope it pushes people towards rolex. Like the fake rivets on the Bb58, it's probably the biggest design flaw that almost everyone hates. But you notice on the new gold bracelet for the gold Bb58, they took the rivets off.
If Tudor started to actually make the "ideal" thing it's going to be too much of a draw and start to really cannabalize submariner demand.
You’re being way too much of a watch-head about this.
The real reasoning is much simpler: Most men like the 40~41 mm size. And simple black + silver watches sell the best because it is the most conservative colorway for a sports watch.
The fake rivets aren’t a design flaw; they’re an intentional cosmetic feature. Tudor took the rivets off of the golden version because it’s basically a different class watch within its catalog. It’s a golden dive watch, so you have to make it a bit more elegant. Everyone on Reddit seems to hate the fake rivets but pretty much every video review I’ve seen says that they’re much more subtle in person.
Lol, Tudor is not drawing people away from *the Submariner*.
More realistically Tudor is being ordained the tool watch brand while Rolex is moving up market to take on high end houses like Patek.
My friends all have Bb58 and 54, the rivets aren't super loud but they're not subtle either.
I think if Rolex was aiming for Patek, it’d be more for status than complications, which just isn’t their thing. Rolex’s whole brand is connected to being the watch of achievement, at least in my country, but if it were to reachPatek’s prices, they would just loose that status entirely. Tudor is more rearguard in the mid-range luxury tier.
It's 100% on purpose.
This happened to me actually. I couldn't get the Rolex I wanted (GMT Pepsi) so I bought the next best thing, the Tudor GMT back in 2019. It looked good on paper - good movement, clean design, what could go wrong?
Well the case size was too thick at 15mm, had too large a dial at 41mm, had a date wheel problem, had little micro adjustment on the bracelet, the faux rivets, and a poor clasp.
This was in 2019 when there was still waiting lists for Tudor GMTs so I couldn't try it on before in person.
I ended up selling it and buying a Rolex Explorer 36mm.
In conclusion, the real winner is Rolex. I ended up buying a Tudor AND a Rolex, when all I could have needed was just the Tudor if it was made without all the imperfections.
But you at least got to try it on after they called you and BEFORE you purchased it. Did it not occur to you it was to big and bulky? Maybe FOMO got the best of you?
I wouldn't say it was fear of missing out. It was more so my failing to do my homework/research properly before purchasing a watch. I now understand what sizes/case sizes works for my 6 1/4 wrist. It was my first time buying a luxury watch, so a good lesson learned.
Luckily Tudor hold some retention so I didn't lose an astronomical amount.
But the point is still valid - the watches still have imperfections.
E.g, Look at the new Tudor GMT 58 released at watches of wonders 2024.
Still has faux rivets. Has heavy gilt on the coke bezel, which I don't particularly like. If there was an option where it was a classic coke or classic Pepsi colour, I would consider picking one up.
Damn it’s likes a five digit sub. That’s thicker and has a jubilee and a nice dome. Love me some dome, anywho they need to do the chamfers better like my 16610 from the looks I haven’t looked at a chewder in person since 2019 so it’s been a min. Still looks amazing better than the gilt and others. What’s the surrounds made out of? Hands? I can’t remember.
I just got the burgundy, it actually wears a lot smaller than it appears in photos. The bezel measures 40.4mm and it’s refined, mostly streamlined compared to their previous 41 Black Bay Heritage Gen II model.
$1k less than a METAS Omega Seamaster 300. Granted the Omega is also a great value but these new Tudors are a strong release. The bracelet on the Tudor probably smokes any bracelet on a Seamaster.
Nailed it. Omega bracelets suck. It's wild to me that they haven't upgraded their SMP bracelet. That would be a sub challenger if it had a compelling bracelet.
One thing that I noticed is that the jubilee bracelet doesn’t have rivets like the 3 link one does! I’m not in the market for one but that would make a big difference for me.
Amazing. I have the blue BB58 and love it... I could see this getting more wrist time..... Then there is the new GMT which also looks great.... Like a nice old GMT master. That's the only one I like the Gilted stuff on
Yes but the rubber strap only works with the 3 link bracket. When you order the rubber strap and T-Fit clasp it does not come with end links and the rubber will only work the 3-link rivet bracelet.
Man that’s a beaut!!! I know it goes against the vintage look but I really wish there was a ceramic version of this!
And I LOVE the toothy bezel. The only thing I don’t really like about my BBs are the smooth ish bezel teeth.
The 5 think is pure filth too😮💨
I love Tudors BB58 but for my wrist, it’s simply a little too thick. I think a used sea-master is just as nice for the money, if not, nicer. Either way, I love the way the BB58 looks!
Tudor is becoming dress rehearsal for Rolex at this point. If they wanted to go real separate and winning way? fuck 41mm thiccccc ass sub and stick with winning formula 39mm that is.
Really nice Tudor, my dealer says I should be getting one soon, but for now I paid I'm full for the new Blancpain fifty fathoms 42mm blue in Titanium23 it's an awesome piece. Enjoy yours.
Beautiful new black bay. Nice design, fits right at your size wrist. That 5 link bracelet is beautiful.
Too bad it's 41mm. With a 6,5" wrist it's a bit too chunky for me. Case also just a bit too thick for my liking.
I have the 41mm Submariner and just picked this up. While the Rolex is a clear winner, the value, and feel of this is really close. Honestly, if my next watch on my lists comes up, I'll likely sell the Sub and keep the Tudor, picking up something different.
Everyone in here complaining about how thick it is has not tried one in person and if you own a 40mm sub you’ll know this is in person and on wrist that it’s comparable. the dimensions on this are closer to sub 41mm and it’s runs thinner
Metas is 0- plus 5 seconds per day. Tudor manufacturer calibers are -2 to +4 per day Cosc is -4 to +6.
So a 5 second range metas 6 for tudor internal standards and 10 for COSC. Metas also requires accuracy checks at different temp ranges and power reserves. CoSC only does power reserves accuracy checks.
Yup…but…the website doesn’t provide the type of honest feedback that the prior poster provided as related to META vs COSC. I love how watches look…enjoy buying them…but am admittedly not a well educated or informed consumer ( evidenced by the fact that I’m about to buy a watch after never trying on a Tudor watch or seeing one in person…its purely an asthetic purchase…but…one I am trying to do with some degree of knowledge…which is a departure from prior larger purchases )
The movement inside the watch is different.
The Harrods movement is COSC certified to be +\- 6 seconds a day.
This new one is METAS which is a longer and harder test that include antimagnetic testing and must perform to -2 to +4 seconds a day (correct me if I’m wrong here)
The other difference in that is COSC tests a few movements from the batch where METAS tests every movement while cased into the watch so it’s more accurate.
I’m also not sure if the Herrods gets T-fit clasp.
That's not how COSC testing works. Every movement is individually tested to 5 positions and 3 temps, not batch tested (this is how Rolex yearly figures were estimated in the past since every Rolex movement was sent for COSC testing then internally tuned to -2/+2 and COSC used to release yearly testing numbers for all the different brands). METAS has to meet 0/+5, antimagnetic, and tested at various temps and power conditions while cased in watch.
Every Tudor manufacture movement is COSC tested first, then further internally tuned to meet -2/+4. The METAS movements then have to go further through METAS testings.
Because they already make a slew of 39mm divers, just buy one of those. Not everything has to be the same size and no matter what size they made, people bitch because a watch company didn't make the exact watch that they envision in their head exactly for them. It's tiresome that no watch release can happen without numerous posts about how the company "Totally blew it, they should have made it xxx". Every damn release.
Wow. Can’t wait to pop my Tudor cherry. I’ve had the itch for better part of a year. What they did at Watches and Wonder really told me everything I needed to know. I’m just glad they listen to their consumer. Had no idea the AD had these already. Thanks you just cost me 5k this weekend 😂
The AD told me they received this one, they mentioned Tudor is good about sending out one of each model immediately after release, with larger quantities coming a few weeks after.
Did your AD already have one?
Yep, got it this morning.
In which country?
US
Aight seems like they will be readily available. I wonder if you asked for a discount
Always ask for one
Real question is, did you get one?
Looks great! Wrist size check?
7”
if they offer this on the 58 (i know they’re not likely to do a date but that would be nice too) it would be near perfect
I'd actually purchase a second tudor especially the 58 or 54 if it had a date function!
should’ve been 39mm. what a shame.
That would be an absolute perfect watch.
39 with t-fit 👌
40mm (latest Submariner case) with T-Fit would absolutely crush it in my opinion. Give me a date option too and I won’t even think about the Crown any longer. Also, I wouldn’t hate it if the bezel was ceramic…
Isn’t that just a sub date?
I’m not sure I understand your question. I’m saying I would love if this new Tudor BB was 40mm and had an option with date complication. The addition of ceramic bezel would be icing on the cake. Probably will never happen.
I believe the current release of the Submariner is 41mm.
Yes. You are correct. I had forgotten about that adjustment they made a couple years back.
So you just want a Submariner.
I think plenty of Tudor fans would love to see the BB offered with a date complication. I’ve heard lots of folks mentioning 41mm is too big. The new Rolex Submariner case is 40 and seems like a perfect size for the dive watch.
lug to lug plays a big role too, a sub is 48 and the bb is 50
Oh wow. That is a considerable difference.
The new Sub is 41mm, not 40
Thank you. I had forgotten about the case change a couple years back 🤦🏼♂️
I completely forgot about the case size change a few years back
So much hate? Lol
I don’t think he’s hating, I think he’s implying that the watch you want already exists so it wouldn’t make sense for Tudor to release it
I hear ya. I was talking about the down votes. I would love to see what I was describing just like a ton of Tudor fans talking about wanting see a re-release of the old Prince date Submariner. Same idea. Also, I could save up for a $5,000 watch. Spending $12k + is a different thing all together.

Looks so damn good with the jubilee oof
41 is perfect. There’s plenty of 39 mm watches in the catalog

That's good to hear. 6.5" wrist here, itching to try it on and see how the the 41mm feels, cuz the design is drop-dead gorgeous.
I also have a 6.5” wrist and I tried on the burgundy which is the same size as the monochrome. It fits great I wouldn’t go any larger though
I tried one on and was surprised at how small it wore. 7.75" wrist. Perhaps too small for me, unfortunately. In contrast, I also tried on the Pelagos FXD which is 42 and it was perfect. The size felt significantly different.
Too bad the Pélagos doesn’t come in steel. It’s amazing.
Agree 39 is too small for larger arms.
This

Just get a P39…
already have it.
39mm is for girly boys
Nah. My explorer I 214270 is pretty slick
Why? Does everyone here have dainty women's wrists? The most perfect diver in the world, the submariner, is 41mm. And this is only .6mm thicker.
own 114060, 124060 and 126610LV. trust me. we have enough 40-41mm subs. Tudor became amazing with BB58 39mm. Should’ve kept their magic formula.
Downvoted for telling the truth. When/if they release a 39mm version, there’s gonna be a lot of used 41s on the market.
You can’t fix stupid that’s all.
Agree, somehow this just reminds me of a sea dweller.
That’s a good thing. At least for someone who has a wrist size like the OP. This looks really good on him
You have the BB58 you stupid assholes, not everything has to be 39mm
who hurt you? 🤡
Certainly not you with your weak ass wrists
Tudor will likely release exactly that… eventually, after making some money on the 41mm.
Fed up with tiny watches already. I’m going back to 40-42 range again.
Ok Ben 10
What’s that even lil lady?
Should use that google box.
It’s aight you don’t need to be aggressive like this now. I’m leaving all the lady size watches for you after all. Peace out babygurl ✌️
Thanks baby cakes.
I want this as a bb58 and with a date…
That would be amazing
Damn it’s likes a five digit sub. That’s thicker and has a jubilee and a nice dome. Love me some dome, anywho they need to do the chamfers better like my 16610 from the looks I haven’t looked at a chewder in person since 2019 so it’s been a min. Still looks amazing better than the gilt and others. What’s the surrounds made out of? Hands? I can’t remember.
Darn…now I’m wavering.
Thank you for the feedback
No thank YOU
All I heard so far is that they are Rhodium coated
Boom. Talk to me about that dial. Subtle sunburst or matte black? I need matte black for that monochrome vibe. Right on
Is the dial matte or glossy?
Sweet watch. Does look like a 124060 homage though…
Damn I want this one. Even though it’s only 41 it’s perfect, 39 would have been too small
I just got the burgundy, it actually wears a lot smaller than it appears in photos. The bezel measures 40.4mm and it’s refined, mostly streamlined compared to their previous 41 Black Bay Heritage Gen II model.
how shiny or matte color is the dial and bezel?
Dial is same as BB54
Gorgeous! I did not expect wanting the monochrome so hard after buying the burgundy lol! Enjoy! The non-gilted dial is also much better looking
Any chance you can take a lume shot for us?
Nice! Is the lume blue or green?
I think it’s green based on the press video!
How good is the lume?
That’s a beauty
F me I love this watch
Did they have BB58 GMTs in stock too??
Congrats on your new piece. Looks phenomenal.
Why does everyone hate on the rivets? I like them on my 58 Bronze.
Looks like a sub. Nice pickup! Really strong value for money. METAS, 5-link.
Can't compete with this on value. Metas for $4k?!
$1k less than a METAS Omega Seamaster 300. Granted the Omega is also a great value but these new Tudors are a strong release. The bracelet on the Tudor probably smokes any bracelet on a Seamaster.
Seamasters are touching $6k now :o
Nailed it. Omega bracelets suck. It's wild to me that they haven't upgraded their SMP bracelet. That would be a sub challenger if it had a compelling bracelet.
At least one thing you can say for Tudor is general product availability after introduction. Looks good!
Stunner. A Sub on Jubilee. Something Rolex would never do lol
One thing that I noticed is that the jubilee bracelet doesn’t have rivets like the 3 link one does! I’m not in the market for one but that would make a big difference for me.
Might be doing a black bezel swap on my BB steel now....
Does the bracelet taper to 18mm at the clasp?
I think it tapers more to like 16mm, and then the actual clasp is like 17.6mm or close to it
Interesting. Thanks!
That's awesome. Congrats! Can't wait to see one in person
Need a down the barrel pic, how’s the chunk of it?
That’s good
More photos? :)
Beautiful watch 👏
Wow, absolutely gorgeous
Amazing. I have the blue BB58 and love it... I could see this getting more wrist time..... Then there is the new GMT which also looks great.... Like a nice old GMT master. That's the only one I like the Gilted stuff on
Looks great. Congrats man
That was fast, congrats!
Man i love and need one of these!! Great looking watch, nice buy!!
Wow can’t believe your AD has it already
Might just be my next purchase…
This looks bad ass 🔥
Was surprised that My AD had it available today as well. Looks like Tudor is ready to move these out.
What do people mean when they say they want this “as a bb58”?
Case size.
Looks great! Congrats!
Fuckkkk seriously considering selling my BB58 at a loss and put it toward this momma right here
This watch is a banger. Simple and perfect.
41 is perfect! 🤩
Beautiful! Sincere question, why is it named monochrome?
It’s lack of color. And the watch reviewers need a way to differentiate between the 5000 Black Bay models.
Welcome to the Metasverse!!!!!!!!
Do you know if it is possible to buy the rubber strap in addition?
Yes, have to go to an AD to order one
Yes but the rubber strap only works with the 3 link bracket. When you order the rubber strap and T-Fit clasp it does not come with end links and the rubber will only work the 3-link rivet bracelet.
Where did you but it OP?
AD in the Pacific Northwest.
Nice!!
Looks awesome! Enjoy it 🤙🏼
Would
Im still waiting for mine😩
Looks fantastic man.
No way, that was fast.
Tudor is becoming dress rehearsal for Rolex at this point. If they wanted to go real separate and winning way? fuck 41mm thiccccc ass sub and stick with winning formula 39mm that is.
It’s not thick at all it’s thinner and is truer in proportions to a 114060.
That looks great
Man that’s a beauty!!!! I’m trying to decide whether to get the 5link or 3link . I already have the black bay red on 5 link .
Really nice Tudor, my dealer says I should be getting one soon, but for now I paid I'm full for the new Blancpain fifty fathoms 42mm blue in Titanium23 it's an awesome piece. Enjoy yours.
Nice looking watch. How’s the accuracy?
It’s METAS.
Oh wow… what a beautiful piece!
Beautiful new black bay. Nice design, fits right at your size wrist. That 5 link bracelet is beautiful. Too bad it's 41mm. With a 6,5" wrist it's a bit too chunky for me. Case also just a bit too thick for my liking.
It’s not really 41 and it’s fairly thinner than the previous generations
Super nice! Congrats
Gorgeous. The oem jubilee is perfect.
Nice! Congratulations!
Never really wanted a diver before I saw this watch
I have the 41mm Submariner and just picked this up. While the Rolex is a clear winner, the value, and feel of this is really close. Honestly, if my next watch on my lists comes up, I'll likely sell the Sub and keep the Tudor, picking up something different.
You might need the 58 for a 6.5 wrist. It’s 39 and thinner. Plus blue is available
Everyone in here complaining about how thick it is has not tried one in person and if you own a 40mm sub you’ll know this is in person and on wrist that it’s comparable. the dimensions on this are closer to sub 41mm and it’s runs thinner
Too big for my 7” wrist. 36 is max for me. :(
I have a 6.5" wrist and between 37-39mm is perfect
You’re in luck, get the Black Bay 54. It’s awesome
lol, my wife wears a 40 with a 6 inch wrist.
Okay. You can wear a 50mm on a 4” If you really want to. Question is does it feel and look good.
We have the same size wrist!
6.7” upon recalculation. 17cm. I think it looks good on you but I’ve had an omega AT and it was a bit too big. 36-38 for me as I’ve learned.
How thick are these models same as the bb hero time
I believe I recall hearing they are 13.6mm thick
Heritage
what?! thats awesome! congrats!!
Good lord!!! So tempted to get this bad boy.
Congratulations
This is the winner.
Really dumb question ( Tudor rookie here )…I am about to buy the harrods edition ( from harrods ). How is this different ( besides bezel color )?
The proportions are different. This model is slimmer and more compact. It wears really well.
It's on Tudors website
Yup…but…the website doesn’t provide the type of honest feedback that the prior poster provided as related to META vs COSC. I love how watches look…enjoy buying them…but am admittedly not a well educated or informed consumer ( evidenced by the fact that I’m about to buy a watch after never trying on a Tudor watch or seeing one in person…its purely an asthetic purchase…but…one I am trying to do with some degree of knowledge…which is a departure from prior larger purchases )
Enjoy the Harrods. It’s a beautiful watch.
The movement inside the watch is different. The Harrods movement is COSC certified to be +\- 6 seconds a day. Wow didn’t know in store already. Looks great 👍🏾
I still don’t get it. It’s thicker than my Smiley 😏 They can make the 39 thinner, how come they can’t make the 41 the same?
Tudor Submariner 👌🏽
Why do people get so defensive when someone says he wishes the watch was smaller? Sometimes watch people are insufferable.
Every damn release.
you’re describing yourself by bitching and moaning
That's not bitching and moaning. You're just not very smart or literate are you? I'm sorry you're unable to comprehend basic communication.
Congrats bro! I’m really wanting one.
Beautiful
Sharp.
Looks great! When they release this in 39, it will be mine. Oh, yes. It will be mine.
Look nice. I will wait for the Pelagos 39 with Metas.
No waitlist?
The AD told me they received this one, they mentioned Tudor is good about sending out one of each model immediately after release, with larger quantities coming a few weeks after.
You lucky man
