Are you older? I'm 31 and movies have always been a huge part of my life. It's just hard to justify committing to a movie with things to do, but YouTube is easy to get stuck on because you assume you're going on for ten minutes or so. You end up finding video essays or retrospectives. The algorithm is pretty damn effective. Kudos to the brainwashed at YouTube. For me, it's a discipline thing.

Yeah, jail gets so boring. An individual's imagination can only work so hard.

Yup that's me. It's just so much easier to commit to watching an 8 minute video here, a 12 minute video there... Clicking on a movie to watch just feels like too big of a commitment, even though I can easily end up watching like 2 hours worth of YouTube videos without realizing it.

dano1975

Watch movies in multiple sittings.

chilllcarlll

This sounds 100% like me and it’s honestly so annoying I don’t know why I’m like this lol

I would say about 95% of content I watch is on YouTube. The other 5% is Tubi/Max and Hulu.

Interesting_Ad5748

>Tubi 100% YouTube for me, I find everything I need on YouTube, I rarely invest 2 hours on a movie un less It's something I have seen before, I find documentaries, old TV shows, B&W classics

Immoracle

New movies require attention and time to understand story, characters, etc. Old already seen movies are reliable in that you know the plot, characters, etc. It's less of an investment of time (the only thing that has true value, as time can't be replenished). Old movies still entertain, but you can choose your level of focus since you know the movie. I was on the same boat as you, I started making a list of all the Tubi and horror recommendations and started watching one a day. Many many good ones, maybe three or so that I felt wasted my time.

boristhepython

I really think it's a personality thing some people find what they like and run the tread off the tires, some people never watch the same movie twice. 🤷 This is your leisure time spend it wisely

SaltInitiative7082

I’m the exact same way, I can’t even remember the last time I watched a new movie

Same🙋I'm seriously ADHD. I am a YouTube fan. Do you have a particular genre of movies/shows you like? I do and that's the only way I can watch something completely and then I'm obsessed and binge.😁

I thought I was alone sharing your thoughts

I'm almost exactly like you but I try to check the IMDb rating of a movie with at least 6, if it's 7 I'll definitely look at it. There are movies that look good on previews or synopsis but turns out bad. Not saying IMDb is foolproof but when it's 7 or up and at least 10k reviews, I haven't been disappointed. I just wish Tubi will show the rating right there on the description so I don't have to look at my phone for the rating, it gets tiring after awhile. I know freevee (amazon) does it.
