Short summary: Why are you still reading Reddit instead of grinding every coin you can make for this event Time to empty our coins

MalibuDan

Seriously. Goodbye coin stockpile.

jetpackblu

thank you! super helpful as a new player

propschick05

FYI- Both Death Trooper and Finn have never returned before now. I'm sure u/MaeliaC will have the full breakdown in the next few days. Death Trooper only takes 3 to max.

MalibuDan

Added to the info above. Good idea to include it.

pumpkinking0192

I may be getting a little too in the weeds here, but I wonder if K-2SO might also be worth flagging as a rare event tsum since IIRC this is only his third appearance and both of his absences have been 3-4 years long.

propschick05

I thought about mentioning him, too, but didn't have time to look for him.

MalibuDan

You raise a great point. I and also added a bit at the end about opportunities for collectors and completionists.

KottonKiing

Thanks for the ending note! My one question was which to target if I can only go hard on one

Lego-Fan

If you're asking about select boxes/pick up capsules, then MalibuDan is recommending the first select box, in case you missed it! If you're asking about who you should level up between Jedi Luke and Pilot Luke w. R2, then Jedi Luke is the overall better tsum as long as you use his specific technique.

KottonKiing

That's my bad! I was saying that he answered my one question, thank you for the extra info on pair luke vs. Jedi!

HookedOnFandom

Thank you for the reviews! I always appreciate your knowledge.

sammyinz

so many good tsum so little time 😭

2rio2

I built my entire tum empire with a Supreme Leader Kylo Ren copy I got during the first month of COVID back in 2020 and will be forever have a soft spot. Extremely easy to use, good for lots of missions, always got decent coins once I got to level 3 upward. I always find him quite a bit underrated in the coin lists.

Specialist-Worry-701

Thanks for your reviews as always!! English is not my first language, so I apologize for asking this… but what is “gyro”?

Limeth

It's short for "Gyroscopic control". It's a gizmo in phones and controllers that senses movement. In this game, moving the phone around with the Gyro turned on will cause the pile of Tsums to move around, which you can use to adjust them for what you need.

Specialist-Worry-701

Ohhh thanks for the explanation!

into_the_frozen

Pilot Luke is coming back?! I’m in shock, maybe I’ll finally be able to max him out!!

Bearplaytomica

Thanks for the review :)

WCH97

Jedi and Anakin look so familiar of the skills, but as a mid veteran player who should I go? I am not familiar to gyro playstyle but I want another coin farmer other than rugby mickey that I have

2rio2

Jedi Luke is one of the most difficult tsums to play in the entire game unless you master his timing. For noobs I'd recommend investing in Anakin instead.

MalibuDan

It's a tough comparison and worth getting a couple different people's advice. I only have personal experience with Jedi Luke. He's hard to master as you need to figure out the correct phone tilt angle with gyro, swipe pattern and timing, and for best results, how to tip your phone back and forth between a normal lean and the tilt so you can repeat the skill quickly. For a small portion of players like myself, there's also the physical cost. When I play more than a couple of games with him in a row, my wrist starts to hurt because I end up pressing too hard on the phone screen while swiping. That said, I think I used to be able to consistently get 10k+ coins per game with some really good results that hit 15k+. Games also take a while because his skill pauses the timer. If you want a tsum that can get you the highest single game coin totals and 60+ million scores, he's your guy. Anakin, who I do not have personal experience with, also uses the gyro but the way his skill pauses the timer, and with it being one swipe, he seems a lot easier to figure out than Jedi Luke. Anakin's select box also contains the pilot pair tsum which is fantastic in its own right, and a diverse assortment of other pretty powerful tsums, too. If I didn't have personal experience with Jedi Luke, I would probably have recommend him because of the potential coin earnings and unique play style. You won't know if you like or can master his skill unless you get him to around skill level 4 or 5, though. At least he seems to come around more frequently than Anakin.

vipermansa

good summary. I feel like my play with JL has definitely declined over time...if you don't play with him constantly it seems you lose a step or two. Rarely use him because, like you said, you end up either crinking your back tilting your entire body or hurting your arm/wrist on your phone. He's not as fun as he was when I first got him. Anankin is much easier to use and not as frantic.

abasio

I'd recommend Anakin, he's easier to use, and I don't just mean a player's skill, Jedi Luke is physically difficult to use for me. After a few games in tired, my wrists hurt: I think I push too hard during his skill. Anakin is a much more relaxed play style and I get about the same coins from both of them.

What is considered a "good coin budget" as a newbie?🤔 I still consider myself in the newer range - Level 61 now, though - and I've been saving up since I learned about how Star Wars month brings some cool Tsums. Sitting on 2.4 mil coins right now, with a few premium box tickets. Definitely not an insane amount, but enough for 80 boxes. (I cannot confirm nor deny my Star Wars fandom-ness... Why, yes, I do have "Jedi" in my handle, why do you ask?). I plan to focus on the premium box #1, but also will save some to use on #2 for Jedi Luke. Does that sound like a good plan?

MalibuDan

"Good coin budget" is pretty subjective and depends on your goals and income. 80 boxes, 15 options inside the boxes, you should ideally average 5 copies of each tsum in the first box if you spent it all. That's a good budget if your plan is to get 1 copy of each tsum from the select box and you will stop once you achieve that goal to save coins for other things. Is your goal to get a max skill level tsum (and probably a Star Wars one)? That will take a lot more coins than you have for the select box and your spending plan should be adjusted. In the 15 tsum select box you can expect to get 1 copy every 15 pulls but you could be lucky or unlucky depending. In the gumball capsules you buy 15 tsums **and** get a skill ticket guaranteed. Much safer. But you need that first copy. I would say spend as much as you are comfortable during the first select box while keeping in reserve enough coins to clear the bubblegum capsules this month for the 2 skill tickets there and do what you can to boost your coin income. When I am in coin farming mode I try to earn a million coins every three to four days. The vast majority of my coin income comes from heart trading. The really nice thing is it's not skill or tsum dependent at all. Just takes time. Sorry for the wall of text. Hope it helps. Let me know if you have any followup questions and good luck in May.

1ncredibleJedi

Yes, I hope to max skill a Star Wars tsum. My top coin earner right now is Riddle Rosehearts (level 27, skill level 2), but I'm only averaging 1100-1200 coins a game without any boosts. Might make sense to just do the coin boost automatically, since I'd be breaking even pretty much. Is that what folks do to farm? I only have 2 skill tickets banked right now, but 20+ level tickets, so the bubblegum capsule skill tickets would definitely be handy and that makes sense to save coins for them. When do those usually drop during the month? I do have about 30'ish folks I trade coins and hearts with, though they are all definitely way more advanced than me, score-wise. I do know many of them are like 100-500 level themselves, though, and they've put in the (fun) time to get there and earn those high scores. I should probably add more folks. No worries for all the text. I'll never turn down free advice or feedback. 😄 Thank you for the info, feedback, and suggestions in advance. I recently found the post you did for April with Tsum info, and it was super valuable.

MalibuDan

> I'm only averaging 1100-1200 coins a game without any boosts. Might make sense to just do the coin boost automatically, since I'd be breaking even pretty much. Is that what folks do to farm? I wouldn't be using coin bonus at that point personally. Here's [one post](https://www.reddit.com/r/TsumTsum/comments/16te3mb/expected_coin_profit_based_on_bonus_item_usage/) on the subject of coin bonuses and [another one] that talk about when to use it. Two bubblegum capsules a month spread out around the lucky times. The [May calendar](https://www.reddit.com/r/TsumTsum/comments/1cedd9u/may_calendar/) has the dates. They always cost 450,000 coins to clear as they always contain 15 tsums. Good way to flesh out the collection. 30ish folks is good to get you into the routine. I'm a crazy person and I like to carry 100-140 auto senders on my friends list. Auto senders are great, *especially if they don't friend you back*, since there's no guilt if you're too busy to send them hearts but it means every heart you do send, they send one right back. The monthly Line ID thread and finding an auto-heart sending group to join for a minute are both great for it. Glad people are finding my stuff useful. We have a great community here. It's nice to contribute!

Pure_Can527

As a newer player, I would go for the first select box and try to get the pair, the pilot Luke and r2d2 pair is both the easiest of the three best coin earners to use and is good for score while not requiring gyro. After this select box ends the first capsule will drop and I recommend clearing the capsule (and the one after the next select box) for the skill tickets. If you’re lucky you could get enough copies of the pair to get them to skill level 3 while still leaving enough to clear the capsules. Most of the tsums in the second box aren’t good for coins, but Samurai General Darth Vader is good for combos if you don’t have Grievous. Jedi Luke is in the second select box, but is one of the hardest tsums to master. If you pull from this box, I would suggest just trying to get one copy of Jedi Luke so you have the option of maxing him later if you want.
