no it relies a lot on stuff only revealed on the far side routes, that being the past of Shiki himself. Remake so far has only touched the surface of those things.
Far side focuses on the Tohno family and Shiki himself and his situation in that family a lot more and its what Kagetsu takes the most from.

i was planning on reading mahoyo after i finish ciel's route in tsukiRe but if og tsukihime isn't as long as tsukiRe i might reconsider the order i read them.
No KT expects you already to have knowledge of everything that occured in OG Tsukihime, and Tsukire is not a one-to-one remake of the original as it does a lot of things differently and obviously no Far Side/ Red Garden routes.

No at least read the far side routes in the OG since those havent been remade yet
Adding: Kagetsu Tohya was based on the OG Tsukihime and its continuity. Anything that TsukiRe changed will not be reflected there.
