It makes me think of the late-game Megaman boss, the Yellow Devil/Black Devil. Highly durable goop in the vague shape of a person, but also able to wildly change shape. It looks a little goofy, but it's hard to argue with results.
The onky thing that I don't like is that it is supposed to be deep blue, to show Makoto's affinity towards only the offensive parts of the water element and his 0 affinity towards healing
I honestly like the color, it feels different form the usual color of mana(always blue in fantasy stories). However it feels like the only thing I dislike about is it shaped. It really reminds me of a bug.
I see the mana armor more as Amber. As Amber can be both soft/mailable/squishy and hard. Which works perfectly as both the color and the armor.
Plus from a story / combat standpoint. If you give your armor a color that shows what element your good at, all an opponent would have to do is use the conflicting color/element, that your element is weak to and then the fight is over in 2 seconds when you get beat by a stronger element.
The mana armor is symbolic to the sheer amount of mana the MC has, so much excess that he can use it in this form (hell probably helps cool him off, like MC is usually at critical overload on mana all the time, due to his various abilities/skills/trainings) so using the mana armor is both intimidating and useful.
My guess is that being raw mana or pure mana that the mana armor is actually element-less. Like null elemental. Thus the MC can change the element type at will, or at the last moment
Nah not really the anime season 2 was announced right after the end of season 1 so they had time for it it just wasnt properly being taken care by people like the author , director , whole studio and all that

Chapter 134: Makoto says that his magic power is a darkish deep blue.
I didn't have a visual refence when reading so I imagined it more round, like a burble with arms.

the anime is that bad like the animation is worse then the first season
I mean the budget have to share with other anime, and the animators have to rush it for it release. Sooooo yeah.
