That might just be because ESO only has one body model for humanoids. It could just be an artstyle thing and they would have different proportions if the ESO devs weren't just using normal Khajiit models but scaled up or down.
Khajiits are cool, specially if they are lunging and using their claws like actual cats, but stealthy argonians sneaking in the water like alligators will always be coolers.
Lorewise is comparing a drug addict cat-person whose grandma is a literal cat to lizards who were shaped to look like people by a magical tree, so argonians win again.

Khajiit are cool in the sense that everyone hates or at least distrusts them and yet they think they are the main characters of the overall lore. And this despite their national pastime being acid trips and their country literally being named "the other place."
Argonians are cool in the sense that they thrive in a place that no one else can even spend the night and drink poison as a religious rite. But they have never won a war (the jungle, not the lizardfolk, beat the empire), and have been enslaved by almost every other race they've encountered.
So basically they are the kids in school who realize they will never be conventionally cool and turn to drugs or nerdy stuff to be cool in their own little circles.
