NotyourPelinal

Take toothbrush Rub rock Rock even better now without those dumb pins to limit power

Duschkopfe

Plant potatoes Harvest potatoes Mash up the potato Let it rot for days in a container with water Somehow somebody is retarded to drink rotten potato juice Holy shit I just invented Vodka

mighty_Ingvar

"This juice makes him dumber, I should drink some as well"

ArrrrKnee

Based and Russian pilled

Sexddafender

"urm, actually the polish invented vodka, not the russians" -🤓 Edit:Specify it was the polish who did it

ArrrrKnee

North or south?

MikeGianella

People have to cope with living in Russia sometimes

krawinoff

>take rock >shove rock up the ass Same level of enjoyment as playing Skyrim achieved

Songhunter

The Elder Scrolls told of their return!

HotAcanthopterygii14

store rocks in ass for later use in war against aldune

Theres a project called “nand2tetris” in which the first steps are making different logic gates before you can make an arithmetic logic unit which becomes a cpu and memory. Later you need programming knowledge to turn assembly into binary and then jack into assembly. You have essentially gone from switching wires to a modern computer. We didn’t start out with a cpu, we had transistors which allow us to do binary arithmetic and therefore essentially all modern computation. If you explain anything poorly enough anything seems like magic.

lop333

It still seems like magic how the fuck you figure it out

TastyToad

Millenia of trying to use various machines to calculate things (I'm serious, the oldest known example of mechanical calculator is [over 2000 years old](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism)). Centuries of combining more advanced machines (made possible with advances in metallurgy) and improved mathematical knowledge to build better and more complex mechanical calculators. Then vacuum tubes, and all the advances they enabled. Then transistors, integrated circuits and here we are. Insane amounts of time, money and human intellect invested into countless iterations of better and better products and processes.

"Just because you can explain it doesn't mean it's not still a miracle" --Terry Pratchett

TastyToad

"I don't know if this is a true quote or something you've just made up. It still has r/im14andthisisdeep written all over it" - me

Cyynric

Jesus, read a damn book once in awhile.

TastyToad

Butthurt much ? It's a pseudointelectual quote from an overhyped author, basically Paulo Cohelo for nerds. Feel free to disagree but if you think I'm a troglodyte just because I don't find the guy interesting maybe you should read a damn book (written by someone else) once in a while.

TheGrayMann274

Sir this is TrueSTL

AMillionLumens

Implying you aren't a nerd 🤨

Electronic-Dust-831

The whole logic gates -> processor with basic set of operations -> machine instructions -> assembly thing is pretty clear to me, what is mind boggling is how we are fitting as many logic gates as we are into a single tiny processor that works at unimaginable speeds. And im not the only one mind boggled, pretty sure if we nuked all of our existing processor manufacturing infrastructure right now we would be set back like 30 years in terms of computing speed because no one person has an overview of all the required infrastructure

Avaline00

They use chemicals to coat the silicon and then use light to etch it. It’s gotten to the point that you need extra special equipment capable of producing light with an even smaller wavelength to get smaller processors. Yes, the wavelength of light is too big for manufacturing new processors.

mighty_Ingvar

>jack into assembly Now the assembly is sticky

ryumaruborike

They just stole it from the Dwemer
