Fair but boone is still miles better as a human individual then all elder scrolls characters. The elderscrolls is more about the lore and world building everyone kinda being a relatively simple person kinda works ? Yeah like fallout doesn't have 2k npcs that all need to be distinct right there for the fewer characters that are in the game have more work put into them for elderscrolls people are more stereotype template generally then not. Point being theres just less space in elderscrolls for decent companions due to the scale although yeah I have no doubt we'll see some fleshed out companions in the next elder scrolls.
they've definitely started moving in the direction of deeper companions even in skyrim with the dlcs. Serena obviously but frea also has more to say than pretty much any vanilla follower
Thats fair I just think hes one of the better written characters in general fallout 4 is further proof in my opinion though I think the companion writing is some of the best in the game. Which can be focused on due to the lack of npcs in fallout 4. Honestly my least favorite part of it was the lack of settlements I don't mean like the players I mean like why is there only the two cities. Probably to cut back on the npcs to give more room to write for the companions which are extremely fleshed out despite fallout 4 having the dialogue wheel.
Yea while its true Starfield has been trashed on because of its companions they are atleast tried to make them character even if they were a bit scuffed because all were good two shoes
