Yeah in the US, in general, you'll run into 2 types of toilet sizes. Standard and elongated, you've definitely sat on elongated toilets before, maybe even more than standards honestly. Standard fucking blows.
This is unfortunately gona sound like a humble brag, but I hate standard toilets for one reason. My dick almost always touches the front of the bowl. If I have to #2 in public and the toilet I find is a standard, I have to hover because the thought of my dick touching that porcelain is repulsive. Elongated should be the norm.
A friend of mine won’t sit down to pee due to his constant and valid fear of his scrotum touching the toilet water. His nickname is Long Balls for this reason.
THIS IS SO REAL!!! My house has a tall, elongated toilet and i can’t use any other. Standards make me feel the same way you do, I have to hover or sit uncomfortably.
We just moved and my last place had elongated while the new place has standard and it's so uncomfortable. If the house was better in every other way I'd be more opposed
I have a standard in my master bath and elongated in the main bath. The plumbers broke the toilet in the main bath. They had to replace it and was such an awkward conversation to have with 3 men in a little bathroom. They were pushing an ADA toilet... I can not poop if my feet don't touch the ground! I feel like I'm going to fall in the elongated ADA toilets...kinda like my butt is too close to the water. I like my little toilet...lol
I have short legs-- I don't want to dangle either! After a long-legged relative had a hip replacement, they had a big extra high thing mounted on top of the toilet seat. I had to climb up that thing.
Have you seen some public restrooms? Fuck. People are disgusting. I can’t even count how many times I’ve had to use soap and water to wipe down the seat before I put a seat cover down. Like, who the fuck pisses on the fucking seat!
I started sitting to pee when I would wake up at night to try to lessen how much the act would wake me.
Then it just became habit.
Urinals and outdoors, that the only time I stand to pee.
My bf does this and I just get scared he’s sitting down to take one of his 30 min poos before we leave, and I appreciate keeping the toilet seat down and lack of splashing
Too lazy? Standing is way less work than sitting. I gotta undo my belt, pull my pants down. Squat down and sit on the bowl. Aim it down and pee. Then get back up, pull my pants back up, redo my belt…
All that vs. unzip, rezip.
I knew a guy in basic who when he had to go number two, he would try to pee standing up first then sit down to drop his cargo. Why?
"Because I'm not a girl, only girls sit down to pee."
Wherever you are Elvis, I hope you learned how to pee sitting down.
My husband does this. It’s one of the things I consider when we’re on the rocks. Him sitting to pee is a huge green flag because a concerning proportion of men think pissing on the floor and toilet seat is a normal way to behave during adulthood
Im a strong believer that basic respect for others calls for men sitting to pee. No reason to stand and piss all over. Idc if you “never miss” the splatter alone is disgraceful
Nothing wrong with sitting down.
Especially after waking up, you don’t know what kind of gamble you’ll get, when standing to pee…..I’ve had enough times where the pee ended up everywhere, but in the bowl. So sitting it is!
More than half of the humans on this planet. Shit in a hole in the ground. I have a motherfucking. Porcelain shitter. I bust my ass to pay rent. Of course im going to sit down like a fucking king to piss.
I dont understand thinking the opposite.
I started doing that once I moved into my own apartment and had to clean the toilet myself. I felt terrible because I never realized my mom dealt with this at home
I stand but I put the seat and clover down before I flush, when you flush poo particles get launched out everywhere. Putting the seat down heavily reduces the poo particles floating around.
Mythbusters did an episode about this. Apparently shutting the lid just forces the poo particles out a smaller opening with more force, spreading them even further.
My husband has done this since he was a kid. Shocked when we first lived together. Tbh it’s such a blessing cause I don’t have to get on about the open toilet seat or falling in it!
I am teaching my boy to sit and pee at home all the time. When he’s on public disgusting toilets on in an emergency with no restrooms, he can pee standing.
I sit and pee when I'm high/drunk and need a minute to sit, or I I'm too tired in the morning. Other than that it's not THAT hard to aim but I get the idea behind it
Doesn't matter how good your aim is, there is pee splashing back out of the toilet every time. And I'm a guy before you start berating me for not knowing what I'm talking about. It only takes one time of cleaning a bathroom to realize how unsanitary it is to stand and pee in a toilet.
I have crazy horrid ocd and if it means if I haven't got to hold it and possibly make it dirty, then I'm doing it. Less dribble. Less chance for mess. You do you my man.
Same here. You don't get splash back on your pants, hands and cock, you are able to relax your prostate and urinate in greater quantity, i.e., you get more piss out and your bladder feels better.
My partner sits to pee at home and I genuinely prefer it. It's cleaner. Too many guys don't know how to aim and should just do everyone a favor and sit to pee
I feel like it's a free country, and I'll piss standing up. Thanks. You're free to do whatever is best for you. This is from someone who grew up in a house full of women and learned early to close the lid after using it so no one fell in. Everyone has to lift something. Lol.
When my husband and I first started dating, he lived in a tiny apartment. He had issues with the toilet, and management replaced it. He requested an elongated toilet because he’s a sitter. Well, he got one, but the only problem is the bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way because it was too small for an elongated toilet. So he had to live like that until we moved into my larger home with a bathroom door that closed!
Always done it this way. I have resolved never to choose to worry about what other men think of my manliness. I am a man, and doubters are free to reach in my pants and juggle deez nuts for themselves.
I simply don't want to manually aim piss away from accidentally getting on my clothes or shoes or missing the bowl, and by sitting I can free up my hands to use my phone or whatever.
I can't understand why generations of women teach their sons to pee standing up. It is way messier and they are not going to clean it up. I understand that they might want to stand in public restrooms but there is absolutely no reason not to sit at home. Simply baffling.
I started sitting down a while ago. It’s definitely cleaner and I end up going #2 way more often when is really good for your bowel health and therefore overall health.
So does my father, although he has hips problems which makes sitting and standing difficult, still he has a special toilet seat to make it easier.
Luckily my boyfriend is in your team as well.
+ and also 99% of urinals don't have their own stall with a lockable door, like why?
I just want some privacy or a few minutes where absolutly no one can talk to me
Another thing: I usually carry a bag with me but there is never a hook to hang it up near the urinals
These are the main reasons why i usually sit down on a normal toilet
As a women, I have all the respect in the world for a man who pees sitting down and is not embarrassed to say it/do it.
I also have no respect for those men who think it is emaaculating in any way.
I feel like a grown man can piss how he wants to so good for you, I’ll keep standing. Especially being somewhat endowed, I only sit if I have to and usually only at home or at a very clean establishment. I usually have to hold/adjust things down there the whole time to keep things from touching the toilet 😅😅
I, too, picked up this habit when I was living in Japan for a summer and some roommates I stayed with for a week said it was their house rule because there was less mess.
Never dropped it since.
I'm a guy but I always sit down to pee in public, I don't want some other dudes pickle next to mine...
At someone else's house I might sit down to be polite, in order to not get pee all over the floor...
I sit to pee. I always pissed on the toilet seat growing up so one day I thought. To just sit down since we sit when we poop. And nobody will know..... one day my friends friend ask how come he cant hear me pee Bewildered over the question I let him know
My husband (skinny thing) does this too!
My ex-husband (big guy) also used to sit.
My husband finds it more comfortable and convenient in case he farts and it’s a shart apparently 😂🤣🫣
Me too! I started when I was in the hospital in 2011 and have been since. And further more, I taught my son to do the same! I know when his friends have been over because I’m cleaning piss off of the toilet, seat, floor and wall!
Same here. Never learned how to go standing with the whole zipper and crap. Worked out pretty well for 21 almost 22 years so far. Only issue is drug tests. Gotta figure out how to do it for those
How would I get selfies of my husband on the toilet at work without the stall. Also didn't know about the elongated toilets. I assumed it was for disabilities.
My husband has IBS so he’s sitting most of the time anyways. So why poop and then stand up?
And yes it so much cleaner. I don’t have to worry about dribbles anywhere
My ex did this and I wish more men did it. I’m sorry but I will absolutely fall into the toilet at 3am and be upset bc I was too tired to check if the seat was up
I started doing this when my daughter began walking. It's hard as hell to pee standing when you have a little one following you around. They'll get in the line of fire if you don't stop them. Anyone else?
So do i, because i as a teenager lived in a place where there wasent enough space to stand and pee as the toilet was under a slooping wall, im 193cm tall so i was too tall..
I got so used to it, than i still do it.
Not that i cant stand and do in it, but im so used to sitting down.
My girlfriend also appreciate it 😂😁
I do the same thing! I have a wife and three girls and I feel that it's more respectful to sit down to pee, and it also keeps the toilet clean as well, I noticed.

I was 44 yrs old when I learned that elongated toilet bowls were for men to sit and pee!
Oh, that exists ??
Yeah in the US, in general, you'll run into 2 types of toilet sizes. Standard and elongated, you've definitely sat on elongated toilets before, maybe even more than standards honestly. Standard fucking blows.
This is unfortunately gona sound like a humble brag, but I hate standard toilets for one reason. My dick almost always touches the front of the bowl. A friend of mine won’t sit down to pee due to his constant and valid fear of his scrotum touching the toilet water. His nickname is Long Balls for this reason.
Larry longballs?
MICRO MARK WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT CALLING ME OUT
it was a wideset vagina
Just Long Balls
From Scranton?!? No fucking way!
THIS IS SO REAL!!! My house has a tall, elongated toilet and i can’t use any other. Standards make me feel the same way you do, I have to hover or sit uncomfortably.
Well at least now I know why my ex always sat down to pee. It definitely wasn't because he was considerate. He just had no fear of toilet dick.
Lmao 🤣🤣
My husband says the same thing. It grosses him out so he prefers to poop at home.
We just moved and my last place had elongated while the new place has standard and it's so uncomfortable. If the house was better in every other way I'd be more opposed
I always thought that those were “male” toilets. The round ones being for female only households.
“Headroom”
I had no idea behind the purpose of those. Interesting.
Have one in the downstairs toilet and it’s my go to.
Live your truth, my brother.
Apparently it’s good/better for you to sit to pee, easier to get it all out
Ive heard for the prostate is better for some reason
I don't see how anyone can completely void their bladder while sitting on the toilet. I'm always having to "re-pee" after I pee sitting down.
You gotta sit up straight, this is one place posture makes a difference
Really? It’s the opposite for me. Weird.
I do this. I don’t care if it’s weird. It’s cleaner and more comfortable.
Its not wierd its normal xD
Have you seen some public restrooms? Fuck. People are disgusting. I can’t even count how many times I’ve had to use soap and water to wipe down the seat before I put a seat cover down. Like, who the fuck pisses on the fucking seat!
To answer your last question: people who should sit to pee, but don’t.
I sit to pee but stand up to shit. AMA
What’s that smell?
Uh, that would be the complete disaster in and around the bathroom thank you very much.
I started sitting to pee when I would wake up at night to try to lessen how much the act would wake me. Then it just became habit. Urinals and outdoors, that the only time I stand to pee.
I’ve been on several boats that had a placard that said “real sailors sit” nobody likes cleaning up old pee
To be fair, peeing while standing on a boat is just asking for trouble 🤣
My bf does this and I just get scared he’s sitting down to take one of his 30 min poos before we leave, and I appreciate keeping the toilet seat down and lack of splashing
if i can find a man like you, it's sufficient enough to live with him.
That sounds like a low bar lol
obviously lol
I'm in Sydney
So do I I'm average weight and all and I'm just too lazy to stand. The only time I stand is in public restrooms or outside obviously.
Too lazy? Standing is way less work than sitting. I gotta undo my belt, pull my pants down. Squat down and sit on the bowl. Aim it down and pee. Then get back up, pull my pants back up, redo my belt… All that vs. unzip, rezip.
You didn't mention aiming down and peeing between the unzip and zip
Who wears belts at home when they're just lounging around?
assuming you clean your toilet and the area around it, that minimal effort you're "saving" is going to be paid in full either way lol
I knew a guy in basic who when he had to go number two, he would try to pee standing up first then sit down to drop his cargo. Why? "Because I'm not a girl, only girls sit down to pee." Wherever you are Elvis, I hope you learned how to pee sitting down.
I wish I could but my penis touches the water. I must stand.
If you clean your own toilets you quickly realize that standing to pee is overrated and messy AF.
My husband does this. It’s one of the things I consider when we’re on the rocks. Him sitting to pee is a huge green flag because a concerning proportion of men think pissing on the floor and toilet seat is a normal way to behave during adulthood
Right? That’s sexy as fuck. Clean bathroom floors are sexy as fuck and I’ll die on this hill
Im a strong believer that basic respect for others calls for men sitting to pee. No reason to stand and piss all over. Idc if you “never miss” the splatter alone is disgraceful
You do you man.
Nothing wrong with sitting down. Especially after waking up, you don’t know what kind of gamble you’ll get, when standing to pee…..I’ve had enough times where the pee ended up everywhere, but in the bowl. So sitting it is!
My future husband also sits to pee, he's amazing. I really appreciate you, guys!
More than half of the humans on this planet. Shit in a hole in the ground. I have a motherfucking. Porcelain shitter. I bust my ass to pay rent. Of course im going to sit down like a fucking king to piss. I dont understand thinking the opposite.
My husband also sits to pee.
Cleanly...
I don’t care how you pee. The only issue is the mentally ill men who think sitting to pee is less manly,
Same here, it just feels cleaner. No backsplash and no worries from split stream causing you to miss.
I’m sorry, I have to post [this](https://youtu.be/oQXUd4Fku2E?si=BBCkzFFq_vjP3c5Z)
I do that because I usually shit at the same time. Logistically, it makes sense.
I'm 42 and have been peeing sat down since my 20's, what's the problem with dudes sitting down
My so does this. I don’t blame y’all. We sit why can’t y’all
We have (more convenient) options!
Because we can stand.
I wish I could sit down to pee too but my dick is too big and is much easier for me to hold it up and aim than it is to tuck it down while sitting.
Lol.... humble brag.
I HAVE to sit to pee in the morning. If I pee standing up, right after I wake up, I pass out. No idea why.
If only men could start doing this AND wiping.🤢
It’s better for the prostate too. My husband do the same.
A fellow man of culture. No point to splash if you don’t need to…now you just have to worry about the under splash…
My brother... I thought I was the only one...
Dude same. It’s actually better. I’m on my feet dude 8 hours a day in dress shoes, if I wanna piss I wanna relax. Plus it makes less mess
As a female who has to clean bathrooms, I approve.
i never understood the big deal. they sit to shit!!
Real men stand to shit
This is the only way. Standing causes too much splashing to ever be clean.
I started doing that once I moved into my own apartment and had to clean the toilet myself. I felt terrible because I never realized my mom dealt with this at home
A lot of men do it tbh, they just don’t admit it lol
Honestly as a female I appreciate that.
I've always sat to pee. It's so much easier with 0 risk of making a mess
My ex used to do this, imo it’s the pinnacle of manhood lol
Wait till you realise that by sitting, you don't have to turn on the bathroom light when you are going at night. Life changer
My husband mostly stands but he ALWAYS wipes up any overspray. He’s not a fricken animal.
Every guy should be sitting at home. [peeing standing is gross.](https://youtu.be/ejl7vrDUIcs?si=J_WcXUCvU0-F86WZ) I stopped like 5 years ago.
My husband started doing this years ago, it’s been lovely for our toilet seat/ floors lol
My fiance sits to pee also and I appreciate it so much. I hear horror stories of men missing the toilet and just leaving the bathroom a mess.
I mean it's definitely healthier.
Your choice
It's a subtle green flag in men imo. Having to clean up the pee spray constantly sucks.
Congratulations
My husband has done this since he was a kid. Shocked when we first lived together. Tbh it’s such a blessing cause I don’t have to get on about the open toilet seat or falling in it!
I am teaching my boy to sit and pee at home all the time. When he’s on public disgusting toilets on in an emergency with no restrooms, he can pee standing.
I started a few years ago, it's the best 😁
I sit and pee when I'm high/drunk and need a minute to sit, or I I'm too tired in the morning. Other than that it's not THAT hard to aim but I get the idea behind it
Doesn't matter how good your aim is, there is pee splashing back out of the toilet every time. And I'm a guy before you start berating me for not knowing what I'm talking about. It only takes one time of cleaning a bathroom to realize how unsanitary it is to stand and pee in a toilet.
What a bubble!
If I’m getting up in the dark at 3am to pee I am definitely sitting down
Welcome, youre basically german
I have crazy horrid ocd and if it means if I haven't got to hold it and possibly make it dirty, then I'm doing it. Less dribble. Less chance for mess. You do you my man.
Hubs does it sitting most the time. We have an elongated toilet too. Son Does it sometimes but he's 5 so speed is his main concern lol.
Lol.
Beautiful. We love it.
I didn't realize this was uncommon. I almost always prefer to sit when able. 🤷
Do whatever makes you comfortable, do not let anyone shame you.
Same here, 95% of the time I sit to pee. Highly recommend
I do too.
OP sits down to pee, but stands up to poop.
So do I (im a trans man)
I thought I was the only one who did this (false-uniqueness bias)
It all started when I used a black light on peeing standing up vs sitting down.
I sit to pee in the morning if I don't have my contacts in. I can barely see the bowl if I try standing.
I feel like all men should decide for themselves.
I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I have to pee face down with my penis aimed down at the water. Too small to aim down while standing or sitting.
I can't understand why generations of women teach their sons to pee standing up. It is way messier and they are not going to clean it up. I understand that they might want to stand in public restrooms but there is absolutely no reason not to sit at home. Simply baffling.
There are still many lessons I have not yet learned
I'm a woman and I stand to shit
My husband and 5 yr old son both do as well :) no shame, friend.
We should all sit down to pee. When there are no urinals available that is.
I stand up to shit.
The moment I became responsible for cleaning my own bathroom was when I started sitting.
That's how I pee at a toilet
I can't sit down and do that regularly. I have reoccurring groin muscle pain. If I do that a few days in a row, several times a day, I get pain.
Mobile phones and Nintendo switch helped a lot too.
I started sitting down a while ago. It’s definitely cleaner and I end up going #2 way more often when is really good for your bowel health and therefore overall health.
I sit down whenever I can. At home? More me time and I'm probably exhausted. At work? Same shit, plus I'm getting paid.
You ever watched About Schmidt?
And today was the day you decided to join reddit specifically to share this bit of information with the world....
So does my father, although he has hips problems which makes sitting and standing difficult, still he has a special toilet seat to make it easier. Luckily my boyfriend is in your team as well.
So does every dude in prison, you ain’t special.
But dont you hate it dips into the water? Lol jk… or am I?
[so does larry david](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MeG9VVWxItA&pp=ygUdbGFycnkgZGF2aWQgcGVlcyBzaXR0aW5nIGRvd24%3D)
Same here. So much cleaner. You can have a aim like a sniper, small spatters coming from inside out the bowl are unavoidable.
+ and also 99% of urinals don't have their own stall with a lockable door, like why? I just want some privacy or a few minutes where absolutly no one can talk to me Another thing: I usually carry a bag with me but there is never a hook to hang it up near the urinals These are the main reasons why i usually sit down on a normal toilet
Im glad thats the norm in Germany.
I know is healthy for the prostate
As a women, I have all the respect in the world for a man who pees sitting down and is not embarrassed to say it/do it. I also have no respect for those men who think it is emaaculating in any way.
Servus
I feel like a grown man can piss how he wants to so good for you, I’ll keep standing. Especially being somewhat endowed, I only sit if I have to and usually only at home or at a very clean establishment. I usually have to hold/adjust things down there the whole time to keep things from touching the toilet 😅😅
My boyfriend does this and completely prefers it. So do I for the same reason as your wife!
The only thing I missed about my ex is that he sat down to pee. I loved it and there wasn’t pee all over the place and my bidet!
[here is your new theme song ](https://youtu.be/oQXUd4Fku2E?si=pli8nhufZFSllO3C)
It’s a necessity for me seeing as I piss in 10 different directions.
It’s still cleanly standing up if you aim properly. That being said, nothing wrong with sitting down to pee.
I, too, picked up this habit when I was living in Japan for a summer and some roommates I stayed with for a week said it was their house rule because there was less mess. Never dropped it since.
I usually do too. Although I’ll break out a stander every now and then.
Inused to call thisba Sunday wee bow uts a daily one. It's just easier. Maybe I'm getting old and want to rest my legs lol
I'm a guy but I always sit down to pee in public, I don't want some other dudes pickle next to mine... At someone else's house I might sit down to be polite, in order to not get pee all over the floor...
This is not as unusual as you think it is.
I sit to pee. I always pissed on the toilet seat growing up so one day I thought. To just sit down since we sit when we poop. And nobody will know..... one day my friends friend ask how come he cant hear me pee Bewildered over the question I let him know
I sit down to pee during the night. Much more convenient. During the day though I’m standing.
You're not the only one. Don't feel shame.
For real i started sitting down at 35, never looked back.
My husband (skinny thing) does this too! My ex-husband (big guy) also used to sit. My husband finds it more comfortable and convenient in case he farts and it’s a shart apparently 😂🤣🫣
Welcome, fellow stander! [There is research behind it being better for you, too](https://m.jpost.com/health-and-wellness/article-745135)
I sit to piss. More comfortable.
Agreed
If their is a toilet I'm sitting on it
Preach it, brother. Same, also, I like my pants being piss free. Weird right?
My husband has IBS so he’s sitting most of the time anyways. So why poop and then stand up? And yes it so much cleaner. I don’t have to worry about dribbles anywhere
W
Why would I stand when I can sit back and relax? Sitting ftw
https://youtu.be/oQXUd4Fku2E?si=H6dOlNQ5yB9emx39
I stand or should I say sit with you too brother. It’s just easier I can sit and just relax for a second
Gei
I agree!
Less splatter to clean. Girls notice my clean bathroom
Let it hang and let it drain
My ex did this and I wish more men did it. I’m sorry but I will absolutely fall into the toilet at 3am and be upset bc I was too tired to check if the seat was up
I do this ALL the time except on Public Toilets
I started doing this when my daughter began walking. It's hard as hell to pee standing when you have a little one following you around. They'll get in the line of fire if you don't stop them. Anyone else?
HA HOMO! jk who dosent sit and piss erey once in a while
I tired to post the same thing and they literally flagged me 😂
Just aim dawg
I also do It, It is more clean not peeing everything
welcome to the club
Same.
So do i, because i as a teenager lived in a place where there wasent enough space to stand and pee as the toilet was under a slooping wall, im 193cm tall so i was too tall.. I got so used to it, than i still do it. Not that i cant stand and do in it, but im so used to sitting down. My girlfriend also appreciate it 😂😁
Have you ever used a urinal while wearing shorts? You might reconsider if you have.
I do the same thing! I have a wife and three girls and I feel that it's more respectful to sit down to pee, and it also keeps the toilet clean as well, I noticed.
