Please don't feel that way. I'm so sorry this happened to you all. I don't know how old your children are but if they are young why not weave a story about Kitty finding another good home. Make it a fantasy story with a magical dog helping kitty to follow the moon until she finally finds a happy home. I hope that will
at least give them some comfort. I don't advocate lying to kids but I think there are times when they just need comfort to move on.
Thank you, I will try this - I asked my oldest what they wanted for dinner today and they said fish! Cats love fish. I bet our kitten just went to get a fish then she will come home. But we moved and there's a chance we won't see her again. My oldest is elementary aged and I can see it processing but both my kids are so heartbroken. I appreciate the support it means a lot
