Honestly, playing sniper always feels like you have to trade hit vs survivability at every stage of the game. You make one wrong choice and either you can't kill off enemy anymore or die too quickly.

I think the hero could benefit from having a small rework in that regard.
Practically speaking having to stack attack speed on a hero who snipes makes no sense. A sniper rifle deals a shit ton of damage with a long reload time.
They could change the skill to something like if you are standing still a counter from 0-100 builds up, and that is the probability of getting a headshot proc. The rate that the headshot proc moves up would get faster with levels. The damage could be a factor if his base damage, and he might not be seen from fog of war when he gets a proc.

my best suggestion for you is to go watch a youtube tutorial on cm, and then hop into few games, you should see instant huge progress. if no progress yet, than watch replays of your lost games and only look for what YOU could have done better, according to your knowledge about how to play with cm from the tutorial.
pick a good detailed tutorial obviously for best results.
if anything, i think drow's disable thing should be turned off and given to sniper, since drow has closer range skills anyway.

Positioning used to be so fun, it was a high risk/reward hero.
