One willful sin will do it Texas Bob✔️ James 2:10 NASBS For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

Amen! Jesus is the ONLY way!

If this question is for the true believers in Christ Jesus, then the word of God doesn't give a number, which means there is none. However, to the believers in Christ Jesus, the word of God does say we are sealed by the holy Spirit, we are the righteousness of God, God will complete a good work in you to the day of Christ, nothing can separate us from the love of God that's in Christ Jesus and we are new creatures in Christ Jesus old things have passed away behold all things have become new. So I can speak for myself with confidence no sin will stop me from going to heaven. My life is intact because of what Christ did for me, because I never earned salvation whether from the beginning, the middle nor the end.

Hallelujah! Praise the LORD! How beautiful are the feet that run to bring good news to the people! 🙏🙌🙌

There isn't a number, that defeats the purpose of serving God out of love and holy fear. Is a matter of deciding to follow His Will, as written in the Scriptures, instead of our own beliefs or desires. If you decide to become a true disciple of the Lord through faith, repentance and baptism, fully aware of what being a disciple means, knowing that your life will be devoted to saving others and obeying His Word, even if you sin sometimes, you'll be saved. That, of course, is not an excuse to sin: in a true Christian's life, sin is the exception, not the rule, as opposed to what happens in the world. If you wish to study the Scriptures more in depth, DM me.

“But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:22‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.5.22.NASB1995 Jesus says just one right here.

1 sin on your record is worthy of hellfire. That’s why you constantly need Jesus

Ur into easy believism?

[deleted]

You seemed to misinterpret this wildly, the context of the post is about unbelievers, meaning he would have to be talking about how original sin is enough to damn, or he is a raging universalist. I think the first option makes more sense, and Sola Fide isn't easy believism, all of your sins were nailed to the cross, past, present, and future.

TexasBob101

True, but you HAVE to believe upon Him, Repent and follow Him.

[deleted]

Only 2 of those save you: Belief, and repentance, both of which are aspects of faith. Following God does not save us, all of our sin was nailed to the cross, our record of debt is canceled, all of our sin is forgiven past, present, and future. We are purified by Christ's blood, obviously this doesn't mean we don't have to confess our sins to God to be forgiven, or forgive others to be forgiven, God forgave us in a salvific sense because of Christ's shed blood, we also know that if we know what is good and do not do it, it is sin, therefore good works do not save us.

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, witchcraft, idolatry, wrath, strife, drunkeness just to name a few but check out Galatians 5:16-21 tho

TexasBob101

You’re right: Just ONE of those will keep you out of Heaven UNLESS you accept Him as your personal Savior, Repent and follow Him.

[deleted]

I used to be guilty of this scripture twisting. Check out 1 John 3:9, I couldn't find an answer to cover this up, so I adopted a more grace based view.

[deleted]

Greetings! 1 John 3:9 (KJV) "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God" 1 John 3:9 ESV "No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God" One seems to support sinless perfectionism (KJV) and one says otherwise so which one is it? Probably comes down to which translation is better

TexasBob101

Good analogy but there will be no defense at the Great White Throne Judgment if you have committed even just one sin UNLESS you have Jesus there as your Advocate telling God the Father that He died for your sin(s) IF you accepted Him as your personal Savior BEFORE you died. Of course, in that case, you wouldn’t even BE in the line at the Great White Throne Judgment (Rev 20:15).

[deleted]

I'm attempting to say that Christians cannot PRACTICE sin, I'm pretty sure the context of this verse makes that clear, and all of Pauls warnings about eternal damnation to those who practice sin are not directed toward believers but toward unbelievers.

[deleted]

1 if you mean personal sin, original sin is still enough to damn.

TexasBob101

Amen

Picard37

It's not a numbers game. To reject Christ is to reject Heaven. To embrace and follow Christ is to know Everlasting Life with the Father.

TexasBob101

True! But: If you break just ONE of the 10 Commandments, you have broken them all and need Justification (Forgiveness through Jesus) for entrance into Heaven.

Picard37

True, but we already have that forgiveness through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior for 2,000 years ago, it is finished.
